Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

The next morning   Riku lingered in the living room as Lightning's guests talked on the sofas. It was the day after Sora and Kairi's wedding, and now that the event was over, everyone was heading ba

Riku chuckled a little, glancing at Lightning before he focused back on Serah, who told yet another story. The selflessness was always present in the stories he had been told, and he wasn't surprised. Lightning was willing to give up a lot for him as well, and sometimes he wouldn't let her. He had to make sacrifices in the relationship too.

Serah told of how Lightning wasn't allowed to just return the rabbit to the store; she had to search for a proper home for it. And she told stories of how Lightning encouraged Serah to get active in volleyball and attended every one of her games during her teenage years despite how she was in school and working a job to support them. Lightning was the primary chef in the house until Serah was about thirteen--then she was allowed to start cooking and assisting Lightning, but only because the latter was taking on more hours now that she was older. Lightning sacrificed a lot throughout her life. It was sad, but at the same time, she knew Lightning was fulfilled most of the time with caring for Serah.

Riku gazed at Lightning now, one thought passing through his head during the conversation: She'd make a great mother. Riku wasn't against having children, as long as he was ready. And maybe Lightning wouldn't mind either. She seemed to be good at handling it, from what Serah said. Besides, Serah grew up to be a great person because of Lightning. Riku didn't doubt the same would happen if kids were in the picture.

Lightning's cheeks were a light pink throughout the whole conversation, since Serah kept rattling off story after story about her. She wasn't used to receiving praise like that, and especially not in large doses like this. So she started to excuse herself from the table mid-story, grabbing dishes to take to the kitchen. The two of them could talk for a while, and she would clean up. Serah had done more than enough for the day.

Riku listened to more of Serah's stories for another ten minutes, but by that time, he could tell that she was worn out by all of the story-telling. So Riku offered to take Lightning out for a little while so Serah could catch her breath. Now, he walked hand in hand with Light along the beach, listening to the waves as the moon shined down on the water. It was definitely a sight, even if there were shops and bars open along the beach tonight. It wasn't too crowded near the water, which gave them some peace.

Lightning held Riku's hand with one of hers, her other hand holding the shoes that she wore earlier. It wasn't often that she went barefoot, but she would have felt silly walking down the beach in shoes. She and Riku hadn't talked  much since they left Serah's house, and she figured that her boyfriend was digesting a lot of what Serah told him.

Riku walked along the beach, not caring that his shoes got a little wet. He heard some chatter nearby at a small restaurant, and he was glad to hear it; it meant the world truly was alive. Riku was happy to know it was true, since this was Lightning's home. There were a lot of memories here from her childhood. "...Serah had a lot of things to say about you," he began, voice low. "She really looks up to you."

Light nodded softly, watching her feet as they took steps forward. "I'm glad," she said quietly, her voice the same tone as Riku's. "It wasn't all the smiles and rainbows she presented it to be." Lightning didn't snap at Serah, but she did retreat to her room every now and then when she was overwhelmed. She was far from perfect in raising her, despite what Serah said.

"Mm," Riku hummed softly in agreement. "You raised her well, anyway. I looked after Sora and Kairi from time to time, but...nothing like that." He couldn't imagine having to raise someone other than himself when he was so young. He could handle it now, sure, but not back then.

Light's fingers remained intertwined with Riku's, and she felt no pressure to change her grasp on his hand or even lift her gaze to his face. "Yeah, it was probably different," she agreed. Kairi was adopted into a family, and Sora had two parents of his own. Riku did too. It was never just the three of them like it was just Lightning and Serah.

Riku turned his head, looking over at the woman beside him as he gently squeezed her hand. "I've always admired you, you know," he stated softly, hearing a calm wave roll in against the sand. "Serah didn't change anything tonight. She had me admiring you more."

Light's faint pink blush returned as she watched the waves lick at her feet. She was sure Serah's praise wouldn't turn Riku off; it would have been bizarre if that had been a side-effect. As for her, she wasn't good at accepting compliments, so she nodded slightly to recognize the one that she received.

Riku only smiled, chuckling a little at the look on Lightning's face as he turned his attention to their path. He wouldn't embarrass her anymore, since he knew how she was with compliments. But she would just have to get used to that; she would be hearing it for the rest of her life.

Riku's chuckle betrayed his thoughts. "Shush," Lightning muttered, lightly bumping her side against Riku's instead of elbowing him in the side. He was laughing at her and her inability to take a compliment--she was sure of it. Yeah it was a pretty bad quirk how she fell silent with every little praise directed her way, but...it was how she was.

Riku lifted Lightning's hand to his lips, placing a kiss there. "Sorry," he mumbled, glancing over at her. He couldn't help himself sometimes; she was just so...adorable, mesmerizing. Riku lost himself to his emotions a lot when Lightning was involved, but that wasn't always bad. Most of the time, it was great.

A smile tugged at Lightning's lips, both at the kiss and the apology. "Yeah, sure you are," she snickered. She had a theory that Riku liked catching her in states like this, because she wasn't so hard and aggressive. What could she say in her defense? Serah's stories were accurate, they just...accentuated her best traits. If she ever spoke up against them, Riku or Serah would bite her head off.

Riku shrugged a little. "Maybe not," he admitted with a sly smile. He would think what he wanted, and Lightning could do the same. But his thoughts were always going to be his, and with that, he thought the world of her. Lightning surely knew that by now.

"Definitely not," Lightning filled in. Riku said maybe not, but they both knew the truth of the matter now. She couldn't say that it ticked her off, because Riku was just trying to get to know every little piece of her. He already knew the battle-wise, determined, strong Lightning, but every day they were together, he got another piece of the puzzle. Tonight he saw how she acted as a sister more than he ever had before. What did he think of all that?

"Hmph." Riku smiled at the ground, his free hand tucked into his pocket as the other held Lightning's gently. Tonight was...perfect. Apart from a small disagreement, everything else was fantastic. He didn't expect it, nor did he think he was worthy. But Lightning did, and that flattered him more than she could imagine.

Light only waited in the silence for a few more moments before she asked a question that was on her mind. "You had a good night, right?" she asked quietly, just barely speaking over the waves. It was a really simple night--just a meal and enough time for a little dancing before dessert. And now here they were, walking on the beach. She hoped none of this was boring him...She would have thought of something more fun, but they had enough excitement for a while after Valhalla.

"Yeah," Riku said with a small nod. "It was perfect." He didn't expect anything, and if he had expectations, tonight would have exceeded them. Lightning never had to do anything like this, but she chose to out of the kindness of her heart. The heart that he held and would cherish forever.

Claire smiled, and this time, it wasn't strained by embarrassment or shyness. It was a genuine smile of gladness and relief. "I'm glad," she commented softly, glancing up at him before looking down to her feet once again. If he hadn't experienced a good night, she would have been upset. With how much he gave to her, she wanted to give back to him as much as she could.

Riku let the silence set in before suggesting they sit down. He released Lightning's hand and lowered himself to the ground, leaning back on his hands as he took in the night sky. It didn't matter where he was, the sky was always the same. That was always nice to remember when he wasn't home.

Lightning didn't expect to randomly stop and sit on the beach, but she wasn't opposed to it. She lightly placed herself in the sand next to Riku and gazed ahead of them at the waves. They were barely reaching their feet now, so there was no way that they were going to get her dress wet. She had to be at least slightly concerned, considering she was wearing white.

Riku sighed, smiling slightly. "The stars are always the same," he stated softly, pleased with the realization. Any world, bad or good, shared the same sky. Since Riku had looked at the stars since he was little, the fact that they were the same was comforting.
