Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Lightning hummed, taking in the words. She had never really given much thought to the sky, or if it would be different in various worlds or not. It didn't make a difference to her either way. But if Riku was happy that the sky was the same everywhere he went, then she would be happy too.

Riku glanced over at Lightning after a moment, lifting an eyebrow. "Y'know what Sora, Kairi, and I used to do when we did this?" he asked, referring to stargazing. "Twenty questions. It always took forever between the three of us, but Kairi insisted." The questions were always bizarre too; they frequently triggered laughter on Riku's end.

Lightning felt a slight smile tug at her lips, just because Riku sounded excited. "And twenty questions is just...asking each other twenty questions?" she assumed. Truthfully, she never heard of twenty questions before, but hopefully she judged the name correctly and didn't seem too dense. What could she say though? She didn't exactly have much of a childhood, or many friends to play games with.

Riku blinked, shocked. "You've never heard of twenty questions?" he asked. He would have at least thought Serah would play this with Lightning when they were younger. That was one story he obviously wouldn't hear, though, given the circumstances.

Lightning shook her head slightly, embarrassed. Riku just heard how she spent her childhood taking care of Serah. The one thing that Serah hadn't exaggerated was how much time Light put into her life and how little she put into her own. Riku didn't understand that she literally didn't have a childhood once she took care of Serah, but she couldn't expect him to grasp it since he didn't experience it himself.

Riku released a small "hmph" and looked out at the waves. "Well, then here's your chance," he said softly. "Ask me your first question." Whatever she wanted to know about him that she didn't already know, he would tell; favorite color, favorite food, favorite animal...whatever.

Lightning shook her head slightly. "You go first," she suggested. She was new to this, after all. She had no clue what kind of questions to even ask him, so it was best if he set the tone for the rest of the twenty questions. She was already embarrassed to not know what game this was--there was no need to make things worse.

"Okay," Riku said with a faint nod, lifting his gaze to the stars. Looking at them triggered his first question. "...If you could go to any world, whether you know it exists or not, what would it be?" Lightning could pick one she had already been to and wanted to visit again, or she could make up one that she would like to see. It didn't matter to Riku; he just wanted to know.

"Oh gosh," Light muttered, caught off guard. How was she supposed to answer that question? She had no clue which worlds she wanted to see! She had already seen a lot of them growing up since she tried to hunt down Ven when she wasn't taking care of Serah, but she hardly took in those worlds. And what did he mean, whether it exists or not? "Uh..." She looked down at her knees, taking the easy way out. "Whichever world you're on."

Riku smirked, closing his eyes at the answer. He wasn't sure how that would work, because his answer would have been the same: whatever world Lightning was on, he was on. "...Your turn," he prompted after a small silence, opening his eyes to see the water roll in.

Oh gosh, Lightning thought again. She pinched her nose between two fingers, trying to think. She nearly asked him if he preferred hot or cold weather, but that was stupid--he lived on a beach his entire life! She wracked her brain, trying to come up with a question quickly only to be frustrated when nothing came. "F-favorite...animal." That's such a stupid question.

Riku had to think about it for a minute, but then he found the answer. "Wolf," he said with confidence. Lightning should have known the reason why; they were wolves once. Not only had it been a cool experience, but he realized the skills and abilities of the animal. Fierce, loyal, with sharpened senses and other traits, but Riku believed he had the first three. A personal relation.

Lightning hmphed in amusement. Of course she caught where Riku was going with that. They traveled through the Twilight Realm more than once, and in that realm, they were transformed into wolves. They had some nice moments while they were there, curling up in front of fires together and falling asleep...Just the memory made her smile softly at the ocean.

"What about you?" Riku asked, turning his head to look at the woman he loved. Lightning had to have a favorite animal, but he didn't have any idea what it could be. He guessed that was the point of the question.

Lightning looked over at Riku, surprised. "You can repeat questions?" she inquired. That didn't seem fair! If he just repeated her question, she'd be stuck in an infinite loop of coming up with all twenty questions. Riku frequently reminded her that he wasn't that creative, but he had to know more questions than "what's your favorite animal", right?

Riku chuckled. "There goes one of yours," he said. She just asked him a question, so he guessed it didn't count as an answer, but that was alright. Lightning should have realized that any question would count in this game. But since it was her first time, he would take it easy on her.

Lightning scowled, elbowing Riku in the side. She didn't mean to use one of her questions, obviously. "That's a clarifying question," she stated. It was her first time playing, so he had to cut her at least a little bit of slack with that. And besides, he technically didn't give her an answer to it.

Riku laughed a little more before gently nudging Lightning back with his shoulder. "Yes, you can repeat questions," he answered with a faint smirk. Sora always used to do it, so they just let it go. Riku didn't really mind anyway. It was an easy-out when you didn't have a question in mind.

Lightning looked down at her lap, biting the inside of her cheek gently as she tried to think. She could say for sure that she didn't like rabbits, and Riku would have known why that was. She liked dogs, but they weren't her favorite. My favorite animal...maybe... "...Birds," she said randomly. She liked birds.

Riku tilted his head a little, some of his silver hair dangling by his face. "Birds?" he checked, a bit confused. "...You don't sound so sure." Maybe Light did like birds, but he would have to be convinced they were her favorite. Or specifically which kind of bird was her favorite.

  • Author

Lightning lifted her gaze to the ocean again, trying to piece together her reasoning. "They're free to fly anywhere they want to," she started. "They don't have anything tying them down, but at the same time, they're rarely apart from each other." They looked like they were independent every now and then, and it seemed like they could survive on their own if they wanted to, but that was just it. They liked flying with other birds and sharing life with them. She guessed...she saw a little of herself in them.

Riku's eyes were genuine, since he actually appreciated that answer. It was true to Lightning, that much he knew. "Okay. I'll be sure to tell Donald you said that," he replied with a smirk, sight darting to the water. Lightning hated Donald the last time Riku checked, because of the whole wolf thing.

  • Author

Lightning scowled again, frowning. "Birds that can fly are my favorite," she corrected. "Not ducks." No offense to Donald, he was probably an okay duck, but...Why was she even thinking of him in the middle of the game? Or if she was thinking of him, she shouldn't have been dwelling on it. "Favorite world you've been to." Now she copied his first question. She could be free of the creativity for this round.

Riku chuckled a little until he heard the newest question, which wasn't really a question with how it was said. But he wouldn't be that picky; that was more Kairi's thing. "...Hm," he hummed, knowing that he had to think about it. "That's tough. I've seen...a lot." Riku was having trouble remembering them all.

Lightning silently snickered. Finally, she caught Riku off guard with a question! He answered the last one so easily, while she had been stuck on both the ones that he asked her. It was about time that he didn't have an immediate answer for her. But at the same time, she was a bit surprised he didn't say the Islands was his favorite. That was where he chose to live, after all.
