Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Light matched Riku's small smile as she approached him. She wrapped her arms around his lower back and rested her head against his shoulder naturally. "There, done," she said quietly. She was more comfortable, just like he told her to be. Yeah, she was still in the dress, but if he really did like it that much, she could keep it on until bed.

Riku released a single-noted chuckle, wrapping his arms around Lightning's upper back and kissing her hair. "Cute," he told her gently. He knew what she was doing, but he still didn't approve. "....Now go get comfortable. For real this time." He knew she was comfortable in his arms, but he also knew how much she hated dresses. Riku knew he couldn't win over some options.

Lightning hmphed in amusement and remained in Riku's arms for another moment before she gently withdrew and started away. He won this round; she would go get changed. Right about now, a pair of sweatpants and a shirt sounded pretty comfortable. Anything was better than being in a dress and having to be concerned about how you sat and if it was ladylike or not.

Riku turned as well, going in a different direction and entering the living room. Cheating the system, he used his Keyblade to start the fire. The flames licked at the wood as Riku set out a blanket and pillows in front of it. He then sat down, one knee propped up as usual. Whenever Lightning was ready, he'd be here.

Light came out a few minutes later, dressed comfortably and considerably warmer. She even wore one of Riku's sweatshirts that he gave her; that was how chilled she felt by the ocean breeze and the wind rushing past them on the way back. And seeing that there was a fire already lit, she had a feeling that she wouldn't be cold the rest of the night. She came up from behind the couch and jumped over the back of it before plopping down on it, Riku sitting right in front of her on the floor.

Riku glanced behind him, lifting an eyebrow. "So you prefer the couch than my makeshift bed?" he asked, smirking slightly. "I see how it is." He saw the sweatshirt, and he was pleased with it. Lightning kept and wore his clothes, and while it shouldn't have been such a big deal, it was to him. Riku never had that before.

"That's a bed?" Lightning glanced down at the blanket and pillows with a suspicious look. "Couldn't tell." Why would Riku make a bed on the floor though, when they had her bed to sleep in? Unless he was planning on falling asleep in front of the fire...It's been a while since we've done that.

Riku simply shook his head, turning around and looking at the fire again. He instantly thought of traveling the words, and how he never really had a bed to sleep in. Especially in the Realm of Darkness. But now wasn't the time to think about that.

Light lifted a hand and set it atop Riku's head as she made herself more comfortable on the couch. Eventually she would work her way onto the floor, but for now, she didn't mind the idea of embracing Riku from behind. This was the most comfortable that she felt in a long time--by far. She was in comfortable clothes, in a place she called home, with a man who she loved and no enemies breathing down her neck. She was so, indescribably happy.

Riku closed his eyes at the touch, exhaling a soft breath. He imagined this would be how their lives were from now on; peaceful, quiet, easy. Nights like this would come and go, but he and Lightning--and his friends--would have more to look forward to at the end of each day. That was a future Riku couldn't wait to experience.

Light shut her eyes, reclined on the couch as she kept her hand in Riku's hair. She had to tell him..."I'm really happy," she said quietly. Just the fact that she was happy after everything was extraordinary, but really happy--happy enough to blatantly say it out loud--meant that her words weren't exaggerated. This was bliss.

Riku smiled, humming a little. "I'm gad I could help make that happen," he declared quietly. A week ago, Lightning was miserable. She had lost hope and barely had the will to fight. He thought he lost her, after losing everything else. It had been a nightmare, but now things were good. Better than good....Great.

"And you...are you happy?" Claire asked, opening her eyes and looking down at the young man on the floor. She wouldn't be completely happy if he wasn't too, because happiness and sorrow were things that the two of them shared. Sadness was split in half between them and the happiness doubled. That was how love worked.

Riku turned his head then, making sure not to move Lightning's hand. "If you're happy, I'm happy," he revealed, sincere. His eyes were on her, so she should have been able to recognize his honesty. After all, everyone knew that his eyes couldn't lie.

And if I'm sad, you're sad, Light thought with a twinge of guilt. That much was apparent in Valhalla. She had been absolutely miserable--a horror to be around, really, because of her intense grief and anger and everything that came with the circumstances. Riku saw a lot of unpleasant things in her, but here he was now, looking at her with those sincere eyes of his.

Riku was confused when he saw the look in Lightning's eyes change, which triggered the same reaction in his. Instead of honesty, his eyes showed wonder. "...What?" he asked softly. What was wrong? Maybe that wasn't the right answer....

Light blinked, snapping out of her thoughts. "Sorry," she said sheepishly. "Dozed off for a second." It was more than dozing, but oh well. She saw a lot of those moments happening in the future--moments where her thoughts led her to Valhalla and made her sad. She didn't want to be sad right now, so she was going to push away those thoughts with all her might.

Riku lifted his hand to the one on his head, gently grasping it and kissing it. "C'mere," he said with a jerk of his head. Right now, he just wanted to hold Lightning now that he realized something wasn't right. Regardless of whether something was truly wrong, he wanted to hold her anyway. That was Riku always wanted to do.

Light thought that she had Riku fooled by her answer, but she only saw that because that was what she wanted to see and believe. She didn't want Riku to see through her and be saddened. She slowly got off the couch and placed herself on the floor next to Riku, her eyes finding his aqua ones again in silence.

Riku kept his grip on Lightning's hand as she moved down next to him, and since she was now, he continued to hold it. Lightning's hands were small compared to his, but they weren't fragile; softer yes, frailer no. It meant that despite her battles and hardships, she was still the Lightning he grew to love and adore. Claire Farron.

This time, it was Riku who was lost in thought, not Lightning. He kept on staring at her... "What is it?" she asked quietly. Why was he looking at her like that? She wasn't concerned about anything being wrong; she was just confused at his silence and expression.

Riku tilted his head a little, some of his short silver hair touching his cheek. He smiled faintly. "...I love you," he declared lowly, his voice soft over the cackle of the fire. That was truly what it was; he was thinking of the woman he fell for, when he didn't think he was a person who could even fall. She made a difference in his life, more than she knew.

Claire couldn't help but smile softly at the comment. "I love you too," she stated softly. She already said the phrase so many times within the past eight hours, yet she wasn't tired of saying it. She didn't think it was possible for her to devote herself to a person, but when that person was Riku, a lot of things were different than what she expected.

Riku leaned over and pecked Claire on the cheek, then squeezing her hand. He wasn't sure what there was to do now but relax, and he was perfectly okay with it. All of the Darkness in their lives--at least to the life-threatening extent--was gone. They could finally live their lives how they wanted. Right now, that was a blessing Riku was grateful for.

The next day

It was the middle of the afternoon when Lightning found herself trapped inside her own house. It was complicated and unbelievable that this situation arose, but here she was with Serah scolding her. Since Cocoon wasn't destroyed in this timeline, Lightning kept her job in the Guardian Corps. Apparently she had called out for a vacation before the wedding and today was her day to return, according to Amador who called her this morning. Lightning hadn't even made it a full day in the Corps before she handed in her resignation. And it had only been twenty minutes since Serah found out and rushed over to the house to scold Lightning for her stupid decision.

"You've been in the Corps since you were, what, seventeen, and you just up and quit?" Serah scolded. She stood in front of the couch her sister sat on, not noticing her weary expression or taking in her position. Lightning was leaning forward with her arms resting on her knees and her head lowered. It wasn't exactly a position that screamed "happy", but Serah was too focused on her scolding to take any of that in. "And you expect me to think that nothing's wrong? You would never just leave the Corps like this. What's wrong with you?"
