Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

The next morning   Riku lingered in the living room as Lightning's guests talked on the sofas. It was the day after Sora and Kairi's wedding, and now that the event was over, everyone was heading ba

As usual, Riku flew into Cocoon through a portal he made sure was near Lightning's house. He flew up to the balcony and leaped off, landing smoothly in front of the sliding glass door. With a shimmering blue light, his armor faded away and granted him clear sight, and now that he had it, he thought he saw a pink ponytail. "Serah," he said with certainty. But what was she doing here? He stepped in with ease, the door always unlocked so he had access. That was when he heard the raised voice. Uh-oh...

Serah was more ticked off that Lightning didn't even look up at her. She wasn't going to answer any of her questions at all, was she? Well she'd have to. Lightning wasn't the only one that was stubborn in this family. "You did this on a whim, right? Somebody ticked you off and you were too accustomed to peace with your officers that you snapped and quit. Is that it?"

"No," Lightning said lowly. In fact, nobody ticked her off today at all. She just...She couldn't fight anymore. They had her swinging a sword and she didn't want to. Right now, the last thing she wanted to do was think about fighting, especially fighting someone else's battles.

Riku's eyebrows furrowed at the accusations thrown around the room. What was Serah talking about? What did she mean by Lightning quitting? "...Uh...Light?" he called softly, stepping into the room. He glanced between Serah and the woman he loved, not wanting to overstep any boundaries. The tension in the room was...unsettling.

Serah looked over at Riku while Lightning only briefly glanced at him. "Did you know about this?" she asked him. "Her vacation with the Corps ended today, she went back and quit five hours into it." Riku and Lightning must have been talking about this behind her back, because Serah figured this wasn't a random event. She was hurt. Why didn't Lightning talk to her?

"Wait, wait. Hold on," Riku said, holding up his hands. But then he took a step toward Lightning, standing closer to Serah. "...You did what?" She quit the Corps? What did she do that for?! The timeline was reset, and apparently she had her job back, and she just...quit?! Riku stared at Lightning with sharp, confused eyes. She had some explaining to do.

Lightning lifted her head only slightly, looking at Riku out of the corner of her eye with an expression that said "Don't make me talk about this right now." It was Valhalla related, and Serah didn't know anything about all that. Lightning would take the secret of Valhalla with her to the grave if it meant Serah was ignorant and happy.

Serah blinked in surprise, her gaze on Riku and missing Lightning's expression. "So you didn't know about it," she stated. That meant that Lightning did this completely on a whim. What made her quit her job?! She normally liked being in the Corps, too...

Riku's eyes hardened at Lightning's look, and he glanced at Serah before finding her sister again. Of course he didn't know about it. If he did, he would have talked her out of it! Lightning couldn't just throw this chance away! She finally got a part of her life back that she missed in the past. Why would she do this?

"It's not important," Lightning muttered as she rose from her seat. She noticed Serah's eyes harden to match Riku's and she knew that not even her boyfriend understood why she quit. If he thought deeply about it, maybe he'd understand, but right now, he seemed determined to hear her reason.

"Unless you're going to beg for your job back, sit down," Serah ordered her sister. Lightning just threw away her future for no good reason! Hopefully Serah and Riku could both knock some sense back into her, somehow. But first they had to know what the problem actually was.

Riku studied Lightning for a moment, and he took a small step forward, eyes narrowing as he thought about it. She lost her job because the Lindblum crashed in the other timeline, and now that another was created... "Wait. Is this about...?" he asked, voice low in question. He didn't say it for a few reasons, one of them being Serah. She didn't have to know. All he needed was a little confirmation and that would be the end of it. At least for now.

Lightning thought Riku was going to say it, so her eyes darted to him and turned sharp. Don't say anything. They couldn't have Serah knowing about Valhalla. She wasn't strong enough to know about the horrors of that world, and her death and how Lightning was completely destroyed by her emotions in that world. She didn't even want to remember it herself.

Riku's eyes returned to their normal state at the look. He didn't know what to say, so he didn't utter a word. So this had something to do with Valhalla...but what? What about Valhalla made her quit the Corps, something she loved so dearly? Riku just didn't get it.

"What's going on?" Serah demanded, looking between Riku and Lightning. The two of them clearly just made some kind of connection, because Riku's words got a rise out of Lightning. There was definitely some secret being kept, and Serah didn't like it. Lightning often kept things from her because she didn't think she was strong enough to handle it. Well, she was wrong. Serah was tougher than Lightning gave her credit for.

Riku turned his head away from Serah slightly, his eyes directed at something else in the room. This wasn't his place. He didn't have the right to say anything here. While he was involved, this was ultimately something Lightning chose to keep from Serah. Her death. Lightning's torture. And a living hell. Valhalla.

Serah was irked at the silence that was her response Neither of them were going to talk to her, obviously. "Fine," she said lowly, turning to leave. "If you won't beg for your job back, I will." She would save Lightning's pride and go in her place to do the begging.

Lightning's hand shot out and grabbed Serah's arm before she could make it even one step away. "No," she snapped firmly. Serah wasn't going to the GC, and Lightning wasn't going to get her job back. "It's my life, and if I want to quit the Corps, then I'll quit! It's none of your business, so stay out of it."

Riku glanced over at Lightning at her tone, able to read it well. She was irritated, but that was an understatement. Things were going to remain this way if Lightning didn't share the secret, but it was for Serah's own good. Or so everyone liked to believe. But...there was one more thing... "Lightning," he called, taking a small step forward. Riku needed to talk to her, just for a second.

Lightning looked over at Riku, eyes hard and guarded as she conveyed a silent message. Don't say anything about Valhalla. Don't even hint at anything having to do with Valhalla. If you say anything wrong... Not only would Light be ticked if Riku blurted anything out about Valhalla, but Serah would be hurt. That was the opposite of what she wanted.

"...Can I have a minute?" Riku asked, giving Lightning a look. He wasn't going to blurt anything in front of Serah. He wasn't that stupid. Riku just needed to point something out, so Lightning could...relate a little better to the situation. Serah would (hopefully) stay in the meantime.

Serah shook her head before Lightning could answer. "Whatever you have to say, say it in front of me," Serah inserted. She was Lightning's sister, not some random girl off the street! She had a right to know about what was going on here and why Lightning quit the job she loved.

"Serah," Riku said in warning, not joking this time around. She really didn't need to hear this. The memory Riku was experiencing, one he didn't actually live in this timeline, still haunted him to this day. And it showed through his eyes. He just needed a minute with Lightning, alone. That was it.

"Riku," Serah said in equal firmness. She wasn't just going to sit by while those two shared secrets. She wanted to know why her sister was acting so weird. This wasn't like Lightning at all. She was passionate about the Guardian Corps and training people to explore the world of Gran Pulse! Serah was confused and worried about Lightning, and it came across in the fact that she was angry and stubborn.

Riku rolled his eyes and sighed, rubbing the back of his neck as he looked away. "For God's sake," he said under his breath, lifting his eyes to Lightning a second later. "Do you remember how we changed our future?" He wasn't hinting at Valhalla. He was talking about the future where Lightning died, and Riku saved her after a second chance.

Lightning was hard and guarded before, but Riku's latest question added "confused" to the list. "Huh?" she said dumbly. She had absolutely no clue what he was talking about. Yeah, they changed the future so it wasn't Valhalla anymore...What of it?

Riku shook his head, taking a step forward. "Time wasn't on our side, remember?" he hinted, eyebrows furrowing slightly. When he used Warp's invention to turn back time and reset the future... Lightning had to remember that.

Lightning was still on a completely different train of thought than Riku. When she met him in Valhalla as Rose, she stated that time wasn't on Lightning's side as she tried to find Caius's weakness, and it was true time never was on her side. "Okay..." she said slowly, clearly not understanding. Even Serah was struck silent in confusion.

Riku sighed, lifting a hand to pinch the bridge of his nose. "Enough with this," he muttered, then lowering his hand as he looked to Serah. This wasn't really giving anything away, but he had to get his point across. "Lightning and I dealt with time travel in the past," he revealed. "I wasn't--I wasn't me. My future self came back and saved Lightning." Serah was bound to be confused, but he had a point.
