Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

"Don't bring me into this!" Sora called from his spot. No way did he want Kairi hounding on him because he kept a secret. He was actually quite proud of himself for not even dropping a hint to Kairi about what Roxas was planning. This was one of the hardest secrets he ever kept.

Kairi eyed Sora at the change in conversation, but her smile still remained. "It doesn't even matter," she said, quieting down now. Her voice was back to its normal level, though the smile was obvious in her tone. "I'm just so happy for you guys. I want all the details as soon as you get back." She didn't know where they were, but whenever their date night was over, Kairi wanted to see them in person for a few reasons. One, to get a look at the gorgeous ring. Two, to congratulate them correctly. And three, to get the details on the proposal.

"You'll get them," Namine promised. She would tell Kairi all about the day, and every single detail of Roxas's proposal. That was what Kairi did for her after she was proposed to. That seemed like so long ago. And now Sora and Kairi were married...she and Roxas were next in line. It was still unbelievable.

"Good," Kairi replied with a nod, looking from the phone to her husband. "Come over when you lovebirds are finished. We'll see you soon." Roxas and Naminé deserved alone time. This was a very special day.

  • Author

"Alright," Namine chuckled. "See you soon." After hearing Sora call a goodbye from the background, she ended the phone call. Kairi's joy had been a lot like Namine's when she found out her best friends were engaged. She shouldn't have been surprised, since she and Kairi were alike in so many ways.

Roxas laughed softly before reclining back into his original position and sighing. Man, today was good all around. Nothing could beat this, until the wedding day of course. That was something Roxas could and couldn't wait for. He just got over the stress of a perfect proposal. But then again, Naminé would probably do the planning for the wedding. He wouldn't have to worry about much.

Two Weeks Later

Lightning sat on the balcony of a bedroom in a far-away land. It was called the Blue Planet, and it was a place where she found solace for the past two weeks. After coping with a lot of garbage and grief from Valhalla, Lightning ultimately couldn't take being in Cocoon with Serah and Riku. The two of them were fully aware of what happened in Valhalla and her grief and were smothering her. So she ran. She left a note saying she needed to think for a few days. But that turned into two weeks. Even now, she didn't feel ready to go home. This was the world of a trusted ally and friend. Kain Highwind took her in when she needed sanctuary, and even now, he was the friend that she needed. Every night they sat on this balcony for hours on end in silent meditation. He didn't prod her to speak--he only waited for her to open up when she was ready. As he sat beside her in silence, they both remained unaware that somebody was going to break that silence once the servants led him to the bedroom quarters that led to the balcony.

Riku walked with the servants, his expression hard with suspicion. He didn't know what world this was, having never visited it before, but his senses were on high alert. How could he have let Lightning get away? She left for two weeks. Two weeks, when she said she only needed a few days. Serah was devastated at home, afraid for her sister's safety, and Riku was the same. He had been looking for the woman he loved for a week now; he hadn't slept in days. His heart ached when she wasn't near, but when he asked if the residents of this world had seen a soldier with pink hair, they directed him to this place. A place with high enough rank to have servants. Riku stopped his thoughts and steeled himself upon the servants opening the door, revealing a luxurious bedroom and a balcony just ahead. He cautiously stepped in, his footsteps quiet as he looked around. It was then that he saw two figures on the balcony, and he stopped, eyes hardening when he recognized the person beside Lightning. Kain.

Lightning didn't notice Riku, nor did Kain. Servants were often coming and going in and out of rooms. This wasn't Kain's castle, but he did live here since his best friends were the king and queen and Kain a trusted member of their guard. This world was a different, that was for sure. It wasn't proper for a woman to wear casual clothes like the ones Lightning originally wore when coming to the world. That was why she wore a plain tan dress now, and Kain, instead of wearing his armor, was dressed in a loose white shirt and brown pants. The world was old fashioned, but it was homey. She could see why Kain liked it so much.

Riku took a small step forward and tilted his head, but not in question. He was just observing the two who sat in silence. Kain of all people was who Lightning sought for comfort? Was Riku not good enough? Or Serah? His eyes hardened, his lips forming a firm line as he simply gazed at the two. What was this?

Kain was the first to feel the hardened gaze. He looked over his shoulder at Riku, and though he was surprised at first, his eyes hardened when they met Riku's. Don't start yelling now, he thought, slowly rising to his feet and starting over. You'll only make things worse. Lightning came to him in her hour of need, and while she had a lot of peace over the last two weeks to think, she still needed more time to reflect without Riku's added pressure. Perhaps Kain could coax him to leave without Lightning knowing he was there.

Riku's aquamarine eyes challenged Kain to keep walking. Given his past pursuit of Lightning, Kain wasn't in good company any longer. This picture was beyond frustrating, and a bit humiliating. What did Lightning see in Kain that made him a good candidate for support? It didn't make any sense.

  • Author

Kain was wise enough to leave a few feet between himself and Riku. He knew Riku was in no mood to listen to him, but this was for Lightning, so it was in his best interest to do as Kain said. What he said, though silent actions, was to join him in the hallway. But he doubted Riku would do that.

Riku's eyebrows furrowed when he understood what Kain was requesting, and he silently refused. Move, his eyes seemed to say. He wasn't having any of this. He needed to talk to Lightning. She had some explaining to do.

Kain understood Riku's expression, and just as Riku denied his request, he denied Riku's. He was a trusted friend of Lightning's; he wasn't going to step out of the way when a clearly unhealthy confrontation was about to happen. Riku had to understand something: right now, he wasn't what was best for Lightning.

Riku glanced from Kain to the woman he loved, who didn't even know he was there. Their hearts were connected; couldn't she feel him here? For just a moment, the hard expression in Riku's eyes faltered, replaced with sorrow and hurt instead. But just as quickly as it appeared did it leave, Riku's aqua gaze finding Kain again. "...Move," he repeated lowly, speaking through gritted teeth. Riku had to keep telling himself that violence wasn't the answer, wanting nothing more than to beat Kain to a pulp, just for existing. Their past together wasn't great concerning Lightning.

Lightning jumped at the sudden break of silence. She heard that single word and knew the voice that spoke it. She turned around looked over her shoulder, eyes widening. Busted. She knew that she was away from home for too long, but she never expected that Riku was going to find her here. And now that he was here, and he knew she was with Kain, she knew he was furious.

Riku caught the movement just beyond Kain, and his eyes quickly flicked from the man to the woman he loved. What did she think she was doing? Couldn't she tell how scared he was? True, he was beyond furious with her recklessness, but underneath that anger was sadness and hurt. And he wasn't the only one suffering from it; Serah was too.

Lightning slowly rose to her feet and started over to the pair. In her current attire, she looked like she belonged with Kain more than anything, even if her heart was with Riku. But since she was afraid of the anger that he was teeming with, she stopped a little bit behind and to the side of Kain. Riku...I...

The picture before Riku was heartbreaking. He could feel his heart slowly being crushed by Lightning's newest choice: to be with Kain. The outfit, the atmosphere, the way she sought him for comfort instead of Riku... It was too much. Riku swallowed back the rush of emotions, deciding to focus on anger so he didn't appear so weak. "...I get it," he said with a small nod, looking from Kain to Lightning. She wanted someone who wouldn't badger her or overwhelm her, when all Riku was doing was being her lover. Like he was meant to. It didn't make much sense, but he understood. And that hurt Riku most.

Lightning blinked, confused. "I don't think you do," she said, speaking for the first time in maybe a few days. That was why her voice was hoarse, not because she had been crying. Yes, she had plenty of moments where she was upset, but the point of coming here was to get stronger. Crying, to her, was the opposite of being strong.

Riku's jaw flexed as he ground his teeth together, trying to keep his cool. He understood plenty, even if it wasn't the whole picture. He could see it. His eyes darted from Lightning to Kain repeatedly, making the connection. It hurt, but he understood. While Riku roamed the Lanes Between and countless worlds for the last week, Lightning was here...with Kain, and she didn't even bother to try and reach him, whatever way she could. He hadn't slept or eaten in days he was so worried sick, but she looked just fine. In fact, she looked better now than she did when he saw her last. Whatever Kain was doing, he was clearly the better option.

Kain knew it was unwise to speak, yet he did it anyway. "Don't look at her like you're not pleased," he growled. "She began to find closure here. Don't diminish the value of that simply because you weren't the one to give her closure." He thought he heard Lightning hiss his name under her breath, but he didn't care. Riku was out of line for looking disappointed that she was better.

Edited by Peanut

Riku couldn't really argue with Kain. His logic was correct. While Riku was upset that he wasn't the one to help Lightning, she was doing better. But...she didn't have to ditch him the way she did. She could have just told him to back off, not run to Kain so he could be the savior. "...If you're smart, you should really keep your mouth shut right about now," he spat, voice low in hatred for the man before him. The last person he needed to get advice from was Kain.

  • Author

"And if you were smart, you should have left while you had the chance," Kain growled in return. "You're upsetting her." He was defensive of Lightning right now, even if she didn't need so much defending. She told him the basics of the situation--how she felt weakened by emotions and how she was most emotional around Riku. She needed time to sort that out, and he gave her that time. He was taking care of her, at least for the time being.
