Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

The next morning   Riku lingered in the living room as Lightning's guests talked on the sofas. It was the day after Sora and Kairi's wedding, and now that the event was over, everyone was heading ba

"Me," Riku repeated with distaste. How was he upsetting Lightning? By catching her off-world and running away? He glared at Kain with piercing eyes, his Dark power beginning to swarm around his hands due to his anger. His heart was overflowing with negative emotions, all because of this...betrayal. Lightning hadn't only put physical distance between the two of them; she severed their connection.

Lightning immediately noticed Riku's hands. That was when she stepped into action. She walked past Kain and to Riku, standing sideways in front of him while placing a hand on his chest. "No," she said lowly. He wasn't going to fight Kain. She knew that Riku didn't like him, but he was a loyal and trusted friend. She wasn't going to let Riku repay Kain's kindness with violence.

The feeling that Lightning's touch brought upon Riku was overwhelming. His fists tightened as his Dark powers disappeared in a shroud of black and purple, while his aquamarine eyes darted to the hand on his chest. His heart had been weak with the separation, since he and Lightning were connected by more than the Paopu fruit, but it hurt too. He stepped back, at the same time weakly pushing Lightning's hand away with a soft grunt. He looked from her to Kain and then back, not knowing what to say. The amount of betrayal Riku felt inside his heart was more painful than he imagined, and his breath got caught in his throat. What was this?

"Riku," Lightning tried, lowering her hand back down to her side. "I needed time to think." So she came to a place where she would be safe to think and face her inner demons. Maybe that was apart from Riku's side, but so what? She was an independent person, and she was able to be that in this place. Kain did nearly nothing except remind her that being independent didn't mean she had to be alone.

"And you couldn't do that around me?" Riku asked, disgust in his tone. He was uncomfortable here. The stare Kain was giving him... It set Riku's blood boiling. The fact that Lightning was dressed similar to him, and staying here with him... He wasn't sure what to think of it, but it hurt in a way Riku couldn't understand at that moment.

Lightning was never one to mince words. She didn't do that here either. "No," she said honestly. "I couldn't. Because I knew you'd be worrying if you had to witness me like that." She left for his sake in a way. It was best for both of them this way, or so she thought.

"And disappearing for two weeks didn't do the same thing?" Riku snapped, words tight. He was scared beyond words at how Lightning left Cocoon without a goodbye. A letter was fine, but that only worked for a few days. She needed a better goodbye for two weeks.

Light lowered her gaze to the ground in guilt. "I was going to come back soon," she said quietly. "I didn't think I'd be gone this long." She had a lot more junk to sort through than she initially thought. She thought about going home to say that she was okay and then returning, but then she feared Riku wouldn't let her come back here to Kain.

"...You didn't think about a lot of things," Riku said, looking away. Like how he would take this...or Serah. She cowardly left a letter because she couldn't tell them in person. Was her grief taking that much of a toll on her? Riku thought he was helping...but Kain was doing that. Riku only made it worse.

"Sorry," Lightning said without looking up. And she truly was sorry for worrying him and making him search for her. When she looked up at him, she noticed that he was pale. Too pale. "...You should sit down." He really didn't look good...How long had he been searching for her? How ragged did he run himself?

"No...no," Riku said with a shake of his head. He took a step back, lifting his gaze to Lightning and then Kain. "I should go." Apparently he was bad for Lightning's health, and Kain was the cure. Whatever. Riku would just go home and let Serah know her sister was alright. At this point...Riku just didn't care.

"I'm not letting you travel when you look like you're about to pass out," Lightning said firmly. "Sit." She would go get him food herself, and water. This wasn't something Kain's servants needed to be doing. Besides, she loved Riku with all her heart, despite how he sometimes overwhelmed her. She wanted to take care of him.

Riku ground his teeth together at the order, and his eyes sharpened against Lightning. "I didn't ask for permission," he growled. Lightning didn't care about his well-being the past couple weeks, given her lack of communication, so what did it matter now? Guilt at his appearance? She looked just fine, pampered even, for where she was. Maybe she was better off here, for however long. But for Riku, it made him sick.

Lightning's eyes narrowed. She hoped it was just the fatigue that was arguing with her, and Riku really wasn't going to stay this bratty. "I didn't ask for yours," she retorted lowly. She stepped forward and grasped his forearm tightly, leading him to the bed that she stayed in. He was going to sit there, whether he liked it or not.

Riku resisted, planting his feet even if Lightning tried to move him. He didn't move, simply staring at her through cold eyes. Who did she think she was, ordering him around like he was some kid? He was away for a week without a decent place to sleep or any good meals looking for her, and she had the nerve to boss him around? I don't think so.

Lightning could tell that Kain was seething at Riku even before he opened his mouth. And Kain knew that Lightning didn't want him to speak, but he did it anyway. "You think you struggled looking for her?" he growled. "You should see the demons she fought with. You should be praising her for being so strong, not repaying her with childish behavior."

Riku didn't even hesitate with his next action. Kain's voice alone triggered it. The hand that wasn't connected to the arm Lightning held swarmed with Darkness before Riku flung it in Kain's direction. "Shut up!" he roared. He didn't want to hear anything that Kain had to said regarding his girlfriend.

Lightning was quick--too quick. She released Riku's arm in that instant and jumped in front of Kain. If only she managed to summon her weapon as quickly as she was able to move herself. She lifted her arms and blocked the Darkness, feeling her skin burn underneath the blue and purple flames. She winced, hiding her face behind her arms. Darkness was naturally painful to her, but any of Riku's attacks were bound to be the same for the recipient.

Flames of Darkness licked at Riku's arm, his breathing heavy as he fought to control the urge to tear this place apart. He just couldn't take it! Lightning left him to seek comfort in Kain, a guy who loved her in another timeline! And now she was protecting him, in turn getting hurt by Riku. He hissed through his teeth as he breathed, eyes stuck on the pair. Now he knew that he needed to leave. Even if Lightning didn't care enough to let him know she was okay, he cared enough not to be a threat to her. It was just that simple, even if it meant leaving her behind.

Kain swore under his breath. "Why are you angry?" he asked Riku. "Are you angry that you hurt her, or that she protected me? If it's the latter, you're even more selfish than I perceived previously." Kain was infuriated to the point where he set a hand on Lightning's shoulder and ushered him behind her. He didn't have any potions on him, which meant that he simply had to protect her from receiving more harm

Riku didn't retort, instead looking at the arm that was coated in purple and black flames. Stop this, he told himself. Don't let him get to you. He had to keep his anger under control or he would harm Lightning more. The reality that he faced now--that he hurt her, even if she jumped in the way--broke his heart. Lightning's betrayal was one thing, but his actions were another. His Darkness was controlling him again, just like Ansem did once. Riku closed his eyes, his chin at his chest as he willed his Darkness away. He needed to leave.

Lightning paused for a few moments, deciding it was best if she broke the silence. "Done?" she asked lowly, stepping past Kain to Riku. "Good. Sit down." She grabbed at his arm again to lead him to the bed, ignoring the pain in her own arms from the burns that remained. She was going to take care of him now. He was going to eat some food and get some rest and be himself again, not this immature, angry brat.

"I don't..." Riku said, feeling Lightning's grasp as he stared at her arms. "...I don't think that's such a good idea." He really felt stupid...and angry...and all around wrong. Maybe this was proof that Lightning was better off here. Maybe he shouldn't have come. Riku was better off leaving, and if he did, Lightning would be better off too.

Lightning looked up into Riku's eyes. "This is a good idea," she said calmly. "Trust me." She may have run away from home, but Riku had to trust her at least a little bit. After all that they went through together, trust was an essential part of their relationship.

Riku gazed into the blue eyes he loved, his free hand curling into a fist as he fought the urge to touch Lightning's face. For some reason, he didn't feel he had that grace. "...No," he said after a moment's silence. "I...I'm fine. I need to go." Being in the same room as Kain upset Riku enough, but to know that Lightning was here with him for two weeks made Riku feel sick. He had done enough damage for the few minutes he'd been here. It was time he took his leave.
