Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

The next morning   Riku lingered in the living room as Lightning's guests talked on the sofas. It was the day after Sora and Kairi's wedding, and now that the event was over, everyone was heading ba

Riku felt his eyes soften as he gazed at Lightning, not pursuing her even if she turned away. "...But you did," he replied quietly. Lightning may have not wanted to hear that, but at least he was being honest, something she wasn't lately. The fact that she just...ditched him and didn't even bother checking in really hurt him. His heart beat painfully against his chest because of it; he felt as if their connection was being severed.

"Just add it to my list of sins," Lightning said with a humorless laugh. "Even when I'm trying to do the right thing, I still manage to make things worse. I tried to protect Serah by giving her power and she still died. I tried to reason with Lumina and nearly got myself killed. I tried to defeat Caius myself and forsook everyone else." She paused only briefly. "You know another reason I didn't think you'd look for me? I thought that this stupid move might be enough for you to realize that I'm really not worth your efforts."

If Riku's heart was hurting before, it was in excruciating pain now. He deadpanned, his eyes softening with surprise. "...What?" he asked, not sure how else to respond. Was Lightning saying that he shouldn't have looked for her, because she wasn't worth it? They just had a talk a few weeks ago about how he was going to chase her, no matter what. That still stood...or so he thought.

"I feel like maybe I've fallen too far," Light confessed without moving. "That no matter how much effort is put into healing me, it can't be done. I thought I made progress the past two weeks, but I was wrong." She shook her head, lowering her hand from her eyes. "You may be the most incredible man that I ever met, but even you can't bring me back from this. I just can't..." She started towards the balcony without thought, not sure what she was thinking.

Riku wasn't sure how to take this. Was Lightning saying that he needed to leave in order for her to get better? Kain said that he was making things worse by being here... Maybe the man was actually right. But there was also something else Riku was fearing behind all this. That Lightning was saying they were done. She'd given up on them.

Light stopped at the railing of the balcony, leaning her back against it as she finally looked at Riku. "You shouldn't waste your time with me, Riku," she said. "I'm really not worth it." She set a hand on the balcony rail and gripped it tightly, as if holding herself up. If she wasn't worth it, what then? What was the point of even being alive?

Riku's breath was caught in his throat. He honestly wasn't sure if he could catch his breath with what he was just told. Lightning...wanted him to leave, permanently? "...What're you doing?" he asked softly, voice hoarse from distress. Nearly begging. Lightning couldn't seriously be doing this...could she?

Lightning looked down at her hand on the railing. "Finally giving up, I guess," she said. She had moments in the past where she wanted to stop fighting everything because it was too much for her to handle. Now she had a new reason. She wasn't worth the fight. Even after all the fighting, she was never going to be a good person. This night proved that to her.

"...Are you just saying this to get me to leave you alone?" Riku asked, taking a small step forward. His eyes were wide in fear now, Lightning's latest declaration nearly killing him inside. "I offered to leave, but you kept telling me no. I mean, I can go now...if that'll make you feel better." Now he was rambling, trying to make sense of this situation. Rambling was very unlike Riku, which Lightning should have known. That showed he was in a state of panic.

"I want you to live," Lightning said, wiping at the moisture that threatened to drop from one of her eyes. "No matter what happens to me, I want you to live. So...if you're going to leave...please just eat something and sleep before you do. Please." She wasn't one to beg, but when it came to Riku, she had to.

Riku definitely couldn't breathe. He lifted a hand to grasp at his short silver hair, eyes closing as his teeth ground together. Now he was struggling to stay on his feet. He was fine before, without all the food and the rest, but this... This was the final straw. "Lightning, stop..." he pleaded. He couldn't handle this kind of thing again.

Lightning turned and looked to the night sky. It was pretty gorgeous. What she wanted now, more than anything, was to just look up at the sky. There was so much pain in the world, but so much beauty too.The person behind her, pleading for her to stop, was the most beautiful person she ever knew. And she was killing him by acting this way. Her shoulders shook as she fought the sobs. She was ashamed of herself before, but now she felt even more shame.

Riku gritted his teeth, fighting the rush of emotions that wanted to surface. His heart had been troubled for a while now, but he couldn't lose control. If he did that, he was sure there would be destruction; he never responded well when negative emotions were involved. "...I-I'll catch Kain on his way back. If this is what you really want, I'll make sure he takes care of you....more than I have," he managed. He moved his hand from his hair to his face. "...I'll let Serah know you're okay and go back home. You won't...see me again."

"Eat. And sleep," Lightning begged. She turned around and walked back to him, stopping right in front of him. "Please." She knew he was breaking emotionally, and she also knew she couldn't heal him when she was like this. But she could at least take care of him physically.

Riku sensed Lightning right in front of him, and even though he lowered his hand from his face, he kept his eyes closed. "Yeah...yeah, okay," he agreed with a small nod, pressing his lips together as he tried to calm his racing heart. Getting worked up would only make things worse. That was the last thing either of them needed. "I'll...catch Kain on my way out, see if there's a spare room." He'd be out of here by dawn.

The next morning, Kain awoke early. He knew that Lightning and Riku yelled at each other for quite some time, and he also knew that Riku finally complied in recovering at the castle. He kept his word and slept, but that wasn't the only thing that happened. He broke into Riku's room early that morning without caring about quietness. "What did you do?" he roared.

Riku was already up, in the process of dressing. He was glad he at least had pants on before Kain decided to barge in. He blinked at the demand, the tone and look on Kain's face instantly making Riku defensive. He frowned, gripping his vest tightly in his hand as he glared back at the man. "What're you talking about?" he demanded in turn. What did he do? What did Kain even mean?

"Lightning is gone," Kain growled. "Her room is empty and her clothing is gone. Why did you come and provoke her? She was doing well until you came!" Riku ruined whatever progress Lightning made with coping with her demons disappear in a matter of minutes. To think that he had such power over her was heartbreaking, since Kain wanted Lightning's heart.

Riku blinked, his expression breaking from aggravation and into shock, but only for a second. He threw his vest on as he marched past Kain, out of the room. "Search the castle," he ordered, even if he was in no place. "She couldn't have gone far." He would sniff her out if he had to, literally. Riku would be able to tell pretty quickly if Lightning was still on this world or not.

Kain didn't like being given orders, but he obeyed this time. He stormed out of the room to search for Lightning, though he had little hope that she was still here. If she was awake and in her regular clothes on this world, it meant that she left. He was sure of that.

Riku didn't pay attention the extravagance of the castle he was in, though he was sure his friends would have if given the chance. Instead, Riku focused on detecting the scent of roses, and the specific scent of Light's Darkness. It didn't take long, so when he did find it, he followed the trail. He found himself on the first floor, approaching the dining hall. He pushed the doors open, but not with urgency. She was here, just like he figured. He stood just inside the room and saw Lightning sitting at the table, as if nothing was wrong. And surprisingly, she was in her normal clothing, but what for?

Lightning blinked at the arrival of somebody in the room, and as soon as she looked over at him, she felt herself grow pale. She knew that she had to talk to Riku after everything that happened last night, but she was still so ashamed and nervous. "...Hi," she managed, ignoring the half-eaten food in front of her in favor of the man in the doorway.

Riku lifted an eyebrow at the greeting. So his assumption was right; she was acting like nothing was wrong. "...Hi?" he repeated, though it came out as a question more than an actual greeting. "You do know that Kain thought you left, right?" She scared the man, and Riku too, but....Riku believed Kain feared her departure more.

Lightning registered the comment for a few seconds before she lifted a hand to her face. "I thought I told somebody to pass on a message to him," she muttered. She told the servant to pass on that she was getting ready to leave and go home this morning. She supposed the message didn't reach him.

"...So you are leaving," Riku declared with a small step forward. His eyebrow remained in its upright position, because honestly, he wasn't sure that was such a good idea. Like Kain said (multiple times), Lightning was getting better here--better than she was when she was home. If that was the case, Riku didn't think it right for her to take off. Not again.
