Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

After a few moments, Kain pulled away. Lightning had...kissed him back. It was slight and barely noticable, but of course he picked up on it. He opened his eyes and gazed at her, seeing her eyes on the roses to her side as a blush crept into her cheeks. He fought the urge to smirk at the girl he never saw blush before, and part of that smirk came through as he started leading Lightning through the garden again, as if nothing even happened. Surely she needed time to process that.

Serah noticed Riku's reaction to it all, and she was even more ticked off at his methods now. He left Lightning here with Kain--somebody that had feelings for her. "Did you expect this to happen?" she asked lowly. "Did you expect Kain to win Lightning's heart before you went back in to get it again?" Riku was...toying with Lightning. He left her here for Kain to win over, and then Riku expected to pick Lightning up again when she was pulled together better. If that was his mentality, she would smack him.

Riku blinked at the words, which snapped him out of his daze. But at the same time, they angered him. He turned his head to glare at Serah, something he had never done before. "This isn't a game, Serah," he practically hissed. "I knew what I was doing. I knew that Kain was better for her." He looked to the side, fists tight once more. "I just didn't expect him to make a move already." As if he was going to admit he was wrong. If Lightning found out he regretted it now, she'd kill him. He was already dying inside, so he didn't need it any worse than this.

"Of course it's not a game," Serah spat, showing the same temper that Lightning often had. "You didn't expect him to move quickly, but you did expect him to try to make her fall for him. Well what if she doesn't want you back, what then?" Riku was one of the best things that ever happened to Lightning. Whoever Kain was--however great he was--he didn't have anything on Riku.

"Then I'll know she's safe," Riku snapped lowly. "Then I'll know she's with the right person. She didn't want me, Serah. With her, I'm poison." He wasn't good for her, despite his efforts. His Darkness tainted her. It had always been that way. Maybe he threw a fit because she didn't need him, but he saw beyond that and realized how terrible he was for Lightning. Kain was her best choice, not Riku.

"I know Lightning," Serah said, keeping her glare locked onto Riku's eyes. "She wanted you. Nobody else." Serah couldn't tell if Lightning kissed Kain back or what, but the fact that she didn't shove him away was crucial enough to say that she felt at least some connection to Kain. But Serah had a feeling that if Lightning gave her heart to anybody but Riku, she'd regret it.

"That kiss should convince you otherwise," Riku said, glancing toward the window before he leaned against the wall. He frowned, glaring at the ground instead of Lightning's sister. "...Just drop it." He didn't want to talk about this anymore.

"Your logic is so flawed," Serah sighed. Maybe he's right. If he's going to seriously think like this, maybe Kain is better. But she wasn't going to say that to him, so she changed the subject. "I want to see her. Do you know how to get to the garden?" She obviously didn't, since she was never here before.

"No," Riku answered bluntly. He continued to stare at the floor, hands shoved into pockets as he fought the urge to leave. He couldn't go without Serah; if he left her behind, he'd be in for trouble. But as if he would even do that! Riku may have been emotionally unstable right now, but he wasn't that big of an idiot. Or maybe he was. He let Light go...

I'll just give him a minute to cool down, Serah thought. It wouldn't be good for Lightning to see him like this anyway. She planned on waiting five, but three minutes into waiting, there were other people coming down the hallway. No longer holding hands, Lightning and Kain approached. Lightning looked jolted at the sight of her two loved ones, but Kain looked calm.

Riku closed his eyes at the smell of roses. Lightning, he thought as he softly exhaled. But then Riku opened his eyes to stare stupidly at the ground. ...Lightning? He could feel her gaze on them, and he froze. He needed to leave. He couldn't look at her now... Not after that kiss in the garden. It still burned his mind.

"Um...hi," Serah tried, walking towards her sister to meet her halfway. "I wanted to see how you were doing, so Riku brought me, and...here we are," she said as cheerfully as she could muster. In the meantime, Kain put an arm across his stomach and bowed slightly to her. Why was he so formal? Formal wasn't Lightning's style at all. Nevertheless, she gave him a nod in greeting before wrapping her sister in an embrace.

Riku pushed himself away from the wall and stood upright, putting on a mask with ease. It would stay on until he left this place; he couldn't make this hard for Lightning, if it was at all. He set this up, so now he had to back it. This may have been difficult for him, but he made this choice for Lightning. She was better off here, with Kain. That was all that mattered to Riku.

Lightning looked past Serah to Riku when the embrace was done. Kain took the opportunity to greet and introduce himself to Serah, and Serah took the chance to politely say hello to him. She wasn't listening though; her eyes were on Riku. The first thing she thought was sarcastic. Nice mask. For some reason, it severely ticked her off. He left her here but he was clearly upset by it! How dare he force her to stay here and then regret it...?

Riku may have been wearing a mask, but the weak smile that crossed his face upon making eye contact with Lightning was real. It was very slight, almost non-existent, but it was there. He nodded to her in greeting, though he didn't speak. He feared that if he opened his mouth, his words would betray him.

Lightning looked to her sister for a moment, breaking eye-contact with Riku. "Excuse me for a second, Serah," she warned her sister. She turned to Kain and set a hand on the back of his neck, drawing him near to her. They were often on the same page, and even now, he understood that what she was about to do was done not out of care, but out of anger at Riku. Yet Kain let Lightning have her way. She drew him in and smothered his lips in a kiss.

Riku blinked, his eyes widening at the scene before him. But after a moment, after easily deciphering what was happening here, his eyes hardened in disgust. Mature of you, Lightning. She was doing this to hurt him. It was so obvious. Well...she succeeded.

Serah was speechless when Lightning withdrew from the kiss and acted like nothing had happened. She even dared to ask Serah how Snow was. "Snow's fine," she managed. "Just fine." What was she supposed to say after that? Lightning wasn't even looking at Riku to see his reaction because she already knew what his reaction would be: devastation.

Riku lifted his hand to rub over his silver hair, looking down at the ground. He wasn't really sure what else to do. He couldn't just stand here...not after that. "...Serah," he called after a second, looking to her and letting his hand fall. "I'm gonna let you two catch up. Meet me outside when you're ready to go." He looked from her to Kain and Lightning, who were still within each other's grasp. His gaze lingered on Lightning longest, naturally, but then he forced his feet to carry him back the way he and Serah came. Towards the exit.

"No need," Serah said shortly. She took a small step back so that she could extend her arm far enough to do something. She pulled back and slapped Lightning across the cheek, hearing the noise echo throughout the hall. Kain was stunned and Lightning was too. Even Serah was surprised that she had the nerve to slap her sister like that.

Riku turned around at the sound, his eyes widening once more when he figured out what just occurred. Serah just...hit Lightning? For what? He had a feeling she deciphered the most recent kiss just as well as he did, and that triggered the action. Now is definitely a good time to go.

"I came here to see my sister," Serah further elaborated. "But I guess she's not here. I'll have to catch her another time." She turned around and started towards Riku, leaving the stunned two behind her. "Kain, nice to meet you." But I'm out of here.

Riku's eyebrows furrowed slightly. He looked from Serah to Lightning, his eyes hardening significantly when he looked at her. Good thing I let you go... You're not the person I love at all. If this was how Lightning was going to be, then it was best she and Riku weren't together. Riku stood his ground, hands curling into tense fists as he waited for Serah to catch up. Clearly they were heading out.

"And Riku, as for you..." Serah stopped in front of him, giving herself enough room to pull back her arm again. This time Lightning was able to see what was coming. Serah slapped Riku just as hard as she did Lightning. He deserved it; he caused this mess, after all.

Riku took the slap in silence, closing his eyes when his face moved with the action. He ground his teeth together and lifted a hand to rub at his cheek, then looking to Serah. Done? he wanted to say. He was ready to leave, as she was. He wanted to get out of here. At this rate, he wouldn't be coming back.

Serah grabbed Riku's free arm angrily so that he wouldn't walk away, the girl stepping aside so he had a path to Lightning. "There," she said. "Now you know that you're both being stupid. Riku, go apologize for breaking up. Lightning, apologize for kissing Kain to get revenge. And Kain...I guess you can just stand there because as far as I can tell, you didn't really do anything wrong." It was the other two people that were being idiots.
