Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

The next morning   Riku lingered in the living room as Lightning's guests talked on the sofas. It was the day after Sora and Kairi's wedding, and now that the event was over, everyone was heading ba

Riku yanked his arm out of Serah's grip, looking down at her with annoyance. "Are you done? I'd like to get out of here," he said with distaste. He was sorry for breaking up; Lightning had to have known that. What was the point in wasting his breath if it didn't make any difference in the end? Lightning wasn't going to leave Kain if Riku said sorry.

"You're stuck here as long as I'm here," Serah stated, glaring up at Riku with impatience and disgust. "And I'm not leaving until you and Lightning at least talk to each other." That was her original plan in coming here. Not only did she want to see her sister, but she wanted to force Lightning and Riku to clear the air a bit.

"That depends," Riku said, his anger and annoyance making itself more obvious. He turned his head to glare at Lightning. "Are you through sucking each other's faces off? Or should I come back another day?" If he was just going to stand here and witness Lightning kiss Kain some more, he would leave with or without Serah's approval. He wouldn't stand to watch that again.

"That depends," Lightning shot back smoothly. "Are you going to be able to talk, or is your mask going to get in the way?" That was what triggered her anger in the first place. He was the one who emphasized how important it was that she stayed here and then became upset when that was exactly what she did.

"Says the one who does it better," Riku said with a small step forward. His fists tightened, his knuckles whitening at the force. "I put up that mask for your sake." He wasn't going to take the lip when he did this for Lightning's own good.

"I didn't ask you to wear any mask," Lightning retorted. "I always wanted you to be honest with me and that means no masks. You know I'd want honesty, so why would you wear a mask for my sake? I bet that mask is for your own sake." Whatever reason he had for wearing that mask, it was a selfish one. She knew selfishness when she saw it.

"Sorry," Riku hissed. His eyes narrowed as he glanced between Kain and Lightning. "I guess I should have come more prepared to see you two making out in the garden. My mistake." He turned, storming off. He wasn't going to stick around and listen to this crap. He only came here because he promised Serah he would take her. Nothing more.

"Riku!" Serah scolded in Lightning's stead. That kiss in the garden was completely innocent! Meanwhile, Lightning was registering with horror that Riku saw a genuine kiss and was just as riled up by that as the showy kiss. "You gave her to Kain, what did you expect!" she hollered after him.

Riku whirled around, eyes ablaze with anger. "She's not an object, Serah! I didn't give her to anyone!" he shouted. "I did what was best for her! I'm poisonous, okay?" He turned his hard eyes to the newest couple in the room. "I'm glad you're doing better, Light, I really am. But I would at least expect you to be a little more respectful. I did this for you. I'm hurting myself for you. So when you get a grip and realize that this isn't a damn game, then we'll talk." Riku turned and continued down the hall, sick and tired of this place. He never should have come.

"Who's calling it a game?!" Lightning hollered. She certainly wasn't taking this lightly. "I told you that I wasn't worth your effort so stop trying to do things for me! Do whatever you want to do and do it for yourself! From now on, I'll take care of myself." She wasn't going to depend on Riku anymore. Never.

"Good luck, Kain!" Riku called over his shoulder. "You'll need it!" Meanwhile, he would be waiting outside for Serah to get caught up so he could leave. It was about time he got out of here and went home. He experienced more than enough torture for one day.

For that comment, Kain was infuriated. It was an unjustified insult towards Lightning. Already, he's forgotten what I said, he thought bitterly. I told him that Lightning is more valuable than his feelings, yet he acts like a child before her. He was disgusted with Lightning's past lover. The person beside him, though, was more sad than angered.

"I'll be outside, Serah!" Riku called one last time, then shoving the doors open and leaving the castle. He ignored the chill of the wind or the blinding light of the sun. He was already cold, but he was far from a sunny place; he was in Darkness, it seemed. And he doubted it would get much better.

It took quite some time for Kain's temper to cool down. Even when he found Riku sitting on the steps outside like he promised at least an hour after the confrontation, he was still angry. But he was doing this to humor Lightning's sister, who was surely doing this to benefit Lightning. That was enough for him. "Stand up and come with me," he said lowly. "Serah's willing to leave with you quickly if you do what I say."

Riku continued to sit on the steps and gaze at the land before him, resting his elbows on his knees. "...You're not leading me to a dungeon, are you? I'm already here against my will," he retorted lowly. "I don't need to be trapped any longer than necessary." He just wanted to go. What did Kain have to say that was so important that Serah was backing him up?

  • Author

"The sooner you leave, the happier we both are," Kain agreed stoically. "Serah's the one who devised this plan, not me." He was just doing Serah's bidding. She was like her older sister in that she could be extremely persuasive, though Lightning was more persuasive through physical threats than anything else. Either way, he was doing the Farron sisters a service by assisting with the plan.

Riku turned his head to look over his shoulder at Kain, his eyes steely and cold. He knew that Kain was better for Lightning than Riku was, but it didn't mean that he couldn't be upset that Kain had the nerve to kiss her after only a week of Riku and Lightning breaking up. Riku still loved her, after all. Breaking up didn't mean those feelings went away. Riku faced forward again and rose to his feet. "Let's go then," he replied, turning and starting up the steps toward Kain. He wanted to get this over with.

Kain nodded and led Riku in the right direction. It was on the way that he explained things. "Serah is going to speak to Lightning," he said simply. "It's a private conversation that Serah wants you to listen to. As long as you stay for the duration of the conversation without making yourself known, Serah will leave with you right away." It was a fair deal, as far as Kain was concerned. Hopefully Riku agreed.

"So I'm spying," Riku concluded with furrowed brows. "Doesn't sound very 'private' to me." Whatever. As long as he got out of here as soon as possible, he didn't even care. He wasn't sure what to think of it other than a waste of time, but why would Serah have him listen?

  • Author

Kain ignored Riku's remark; he knew that he was just stating his general displeasure. He didn't care, because after this event, things would be decided, one way or another. Whatever Serah was going to talk to Lightning about was extremely important, and he hoped that the conversation went as she planned. Kain stopped outside the bedroom door that was mostly shut, motioning for Riku to listen in here.

Growing up, Lightning always brushed Serah's hair when she was upset. Now Serah was reversing the gesture. She sat on the bed behind her sister, the brushing more gentle than her earlier gesture. "I am sorry I slapped you," she said softly. "I shouldn't have."

"No," Lightning disagreed. "I shouldn't have given you reason to." She was an idiot for kissing Kain like that, in front of Serah or in front of Riku. It was a stupid move on her part. "It was a stupid stunt."

Riku glanced from Kain to the door and then stepped over, leaning against the wall by the door. His sense of hearing was heightened from his days in Darkness, but he could easily listen in here. He crossed his arms and quietly put a foot against the wall, staring at the floor.

Serah got up and moved to sit in front of Lightning on the bed, folding her legs Indian style as she discarded the hairbrush. "Why don't you tell me what brought this on," she suggested.

Lightning gave her a look. "Anger." It was obviously anger that made her kiss Kain in front of Riku.

"No," Serah said gently. "This whole situation. Tell me what made you run away in the first place." Whether Riku was already listening in or not, she wanted to know what triggered all this.

Lightning looked down at the bed-sheets. She knew that Serah would ask this question eventually, but she still wasn't ready for it. But after keeping secrets about Valhalla, she knew better than to withhold the truth now. "...Valhalla was Hell. I know you didn't experience this timeline, but the one I lived through was death almost my entire upbringing. Mom, Dad, Averia, Fang, Vanille...and then you. I was lost in grief in Valhalla and when I came back, I was terrified that I would become that way again if I ever got sad. I was doing okay for a while, but then...something happened."

Riku closed his eyes after Lightning began to explain, memories of Valhalla appearing. He hated the reminder of such a terrible time, but everyone came out stronger because of it. Well...almost everyone. Lightning was still suffering and fighting her demons. But at least the people they thought they lost were alive and well. That was a plus.

"I don't know what made me visit Dad's grave before I ran away," Lightning went on, lowering her voice at the dark topic. "But I went to the cemetery and...his gravestone wasn't there. I was confused but then I realized that this was a different timeline. People who died in the other one were alive and well in this one. I thought that may have included him, but judging by your expression, you know how this ended."

Serah nodded softly. "Dad died a long time ago, in a car accident," she said. "Was that how he died for you?"

Lightning also nodded. "It was Chaos that influenced the events around Fang and Vanille," she said. "That's why they're alive now, because the influence of Chaos is gone. But I thought maybe the Chaos killed Dad somehow too. I didn't want to ask you about it though, in case he was still...Anyway, I did research, but not before getting my hopes up. I had all these dreams about what life would be like with him around. We'd play sports like we used to, and he'd teach me to surf like he promised he would..."

Riku's eyebrows furrowed at the turn of events. Now he was hearing about Lightning's father... This is too personal, he realized. I can't listen to this. He stood upright and looked to Kain, eyes hard. "I'm done," he stated quietly, starting off. He couldn't listen to this kind of stuff.
