Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

The next morning   Riku lingered in the living room as Lightning's guests talked on the sofas. It was the day after Sora and Kairi's wedding, and now that the event was over, everyone was heading ba

Riku had been lifting his sword to block an incoming attack, but in a blink of an eye, the Heartless was gone. He looked around. All of them were gone. "...What?" he said in wonder, finding Serah. She was unscathed, safe still. But...how? The Darkness he sensed earlier had vanished almost completely; all of the Heartless were taken care of, but where was the leader? Every Heartless invasion included a Mother Heartless. But where was it?

Serah looked around as well, as confused as Riku. She didn't hear fighting from the bedroom anymore either. She took a small step towards it, but then Kain came running towards them. The panic on his face told her enough: something happened to Lightning.

Riku felt something dangling from his wrist, and just as he registered Kain's fear, he looked to his arm. Lightning's pendant. He knew instantly what occurred; time stopped, and it was Lightning's doing. But where was she now? It was then that Riku felt the ground beneath him shake, which he took as a sign of the leader. That also meant Lightning was alone. Riku pointed to Serah as he looked to Kain. "Stay with her," he ordered, not caring if he didn't have the authority. The person who needed help now was Lightning. Riku whipped around and bolted down the hallway. When he found the Heartless, he would find Lightning.

Lightning fought the Heartless with the skill she possessed, and it was enough today despite her exhaustion and fatigue from already fighting off over 200 hundred monster-sized Heartless. The Mother Heartless was defeated by a stab with her Light attack, and the thing screamed before flinging her away. She landed on the cold hard ground with a grunt only to realize that the ground wasn't all that hard. Instead of landing on grass, she landed in a pool of Darkness. Instead of rising into the sky, the Heartless was sinking into the pool of Darkness. And it intended to take Lightning down with it.

Riku wasn't on the first floor, and that proved to be bothersome when he approached a balcony and saw the Heartless beginning to sink into a pool of black and purple. And alongside it... "Lightning!" Riku hollered, voice full of alarm. He already knew what the Darkness would do to her; what it did to him long ago. It was going to take her.

Lightning thought she heard her name, but it was hard to focus on anything. She was fatigued from battle and the Darkness made her even weaker. I want to fight it, but I can't... she thought. Her gaze was on the night sky once more, and the stars weren't shining so brightly tonight. All she could see was darkness, before and after her eyes began to flicker shut.

"No," Riku grunted, his eyes leaving Lightning as he searched for a quick way down to the yard. He found it, and without hesitation he jumped. He slid along the castle walls and jumped from statue to statue until he was close enough to land safely on the ground. He rolled into the landing before dismissing his Keyblade and sprinting for the woman he loved. "Light!" he cried, seeing her sink into the Darkness. No! I can't lose her!

This time, Light was sure that she heard her name called. She opened her eyes partway and looked to the voice, seeing who was sprinting towards her quickly despite the blackness clouding the edges of her vision. It was Riku. Riku was here... She struggled to bring one of her hands out of the darkness, teems of it clinging onto her arm to try and drag her all the way down into the darkness.

When Riku was close enough, he dove for the woman he loved. He grasped her arm, feeling her hand grip his forearm in response. He was immune to the Darkness, mostly, so it didn't affect him like it was Lightning. Just seeing her surrounded by Darkness made him furious, and sick. "Don't let go," he begged, though he also ordered it out of her. She had to keep a hold on him.

Lightning grunted her response, tightening her grasp on his forearm. While keeping her grip on him, she began to struggle to get her other arm out of the Darkness. Her vision was still darkened and senses dimmed, but Riku was here. That always gave her more strength. But the strength of the Darkness was too much; she couldn't pull her other hand free.

"Lightning, listen to me," Riku said, grunting as he fought the tendrils of Darkness that wanted to pry his hand from the woman he cherished. "You have to fight back. Don't give up, you understand? I'm not losing you to this!" He started to pull, gritting his teeth as he fought the suction of the Darkness. Lightning was not being lost in the Darkness. He wouldn't let her.

Lightning grunted again, squeezing her eyes shut in pain. She could feel the tendrils of Darkness cutting into her skin, causing blood to flow from each of the cuts. But she still fought back. Her hand in Darkness curled into a fist as she summoned the power of Light. She pulled it out with a powerful yank and a cry, immediately swinging it to Riku on her other side as she grasped onto his arm. Now he could pull her arms, or better yet, get underneath her armpits and yank her out.

Riku dug his knees into the ground, grunting as he pulled Lightning from the Darkness. She slipped a little, and his eyes widened for that second. But that alone pushed Riku harder to pull Lightning free. Once his knees were set, he pulled with one arm and set a hand beneath her underarm to help. It was then that he got more leverage, and his other arm moved to grip her underarm. He wasn't being sucked in due to his immunity, which was good, but it also helped that because the Heartless was pretty much gone, the Darkness was disappearing too. Riku grunted one last time while on his knees, pulling Lightning to his chest as he finally got her free.

Lightning felt herself be pulled completely free, the last traces of Darkness going away as well. She breathed heavily in both pain and relief, the life-sucking Darkness finally gone. But the weakness remained. She lowered her chin to her chest and stayed leaning against Riku as he kept his hold on her, the woman not even thinking about moving. The nightmare was over; the Heartless were all gone, and vanquished by her hand.

Riku held Lightning to his chest as he sat on his knees, one arm around her shoulders while the other cradled her head. His breathing matched hers, controlled by his adrenaline. "...I got you," he breathed softly, looking down at Lightning. "...I got you." She wasn't going anywhere, especially to the Realm of Darkness.

Light leaned her head against Riku's arm, eyes shut as she began to regain herself. Riku was right; he got her. She felt the pendent of her own necklace still wrapped around his wrist, tapping against her head. "The necklace wasn't lost...in all that..." she laughed tiredly. Unbelievable. That necklace should have disappeared a long time ago, considering how many battles it went through.

Riku closed his eyes. "It connects you and me," he declared softly. He wouldn't dream of losing it, even if he gave it back to Lightning. But now he had his hold on it, and he was keeping it. It gave him strength, just like he told her before.

"Huh," Light hummed quietly. She didn't bother moving even an inch, knowing her body would scream in protest if she did anything. She already was in pain but she was alive, so that was that. And this was the first time Riku was holding her in over three weeks. It was odd feeling, partially because of the kiss she shared with Kain and partially because she was still clothed in a dress from this world. Fighting in that had been a real pain.

Riku ran one of his hands over Lightning's hair in the silence, not thinking for a second that anybody could be watching him. His world was in his arms. "....Does this count as saving you?" he whispered gently. She wanted him to save her from herself, but he guessed the Darkness counted as well.

Light's eyes opened partway in surprise. She knew what the comment was reference to. Her and Serah's not-so-private conversation. She must have been set up, but somehow she didn't mind it so much. "...Close enough," she said quietly. The fact that he saved her from Darkness had emotional attachment to it too, so she guessed that by showing how much he still cared, he was saving her from sorrow.

Riku smirked slightly before pulling Lightning a little closer, but then that crooked smile faded. "...I'm sorry," he said lowly. He didn't mean to upset her so much. After hearing everything earlier, and witnessing what he did today, he didn't want to leave Lightning's side. He may have been bad for her, but his heart yearned for her. He couldn't help it.

Claire shook her head softly. "Me too," she said. She slowly lifted one of her hands, barely having the strength to leave it rest on one of Riku's arms. He said that he was sorry, but she didn't quite know what he was sorry for. Both of them did a lot of things wrong in this situation.

"Don't," Riku said instantly, his voice low with regret and fury at himself. "You didn't do anything wrong. It was all me. I was stupid. You needed Kain's help, and I took it as an insult towards me...and when you said I could've done better..." Riku shook his head and pulled Lightning closer, if possible. "Not a chance. There's no way I could love someone as much as I love you." Lightning was his, and his only. He couldn't imagine loving someone else.

Lightning's eyes flickered shut again. "I love you too," she said weakly. Whatever they were--together, not together, mad at each other or whatever, she loved him. It was impossible for her to stop loving him, even if her heart did say that he deserved better than her, especially with what a mess she was lately.

Riku's heart skipped at the declaration, and he was sure Lightning noticed with how she was held against his chest. "...How?" he asked then, confused. "I...let some other guy..." His eyes closed as he sighed. "That kiss..." He didn't like to think about it. It hurt.
