Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

"Not right now," Light whispered, shaking her head slightly against Riku's arm. She was too tired to think about any of that right now. "Later...we'll..." Her hand dropped off his arm, her fatigue taking over. She couldn't put enough energy into the conversation to answer Riku's concerns, or even figure out what his fragmented words meant.

"Okay," Riku said softly, placing his lips against Lightning's hair. For now, he would just hold her, keep her safe and warm. It was chilly out tonight, and the Darkness didn't help, even if it was gone now. He closed his eyes and took in the feeling of Lightning in his arms. Nothing would ever feel the same; this was one of the best feelings he'd ever had. His Light was in his arms.

A minute or two later, Serah and Kain ran over to the pair. Riku may have told them to stay put, but neither of them were good at taking orders where Lightning was concerned. Serah choked back a sob of relief as she knelt down in front of the pair, her arms going around both her sister and Riku. Thank goodness she was okay, but what happened?

Riku turned his head at the new company, and when he saw it was Serah, he relaxed a little. A part of him thought it was going to be Kain trying to take Lightning away. He relaxed and kept his arms where they were, cradling Lightning, who was too weak to really hold herself up. Whatever she'd done, it zapped all of her energy.

"We often have Heartless stray onto this world," Kain said from his spot, eyebrows furrowed in seriousness. "But never to this extent." The ones he was battling in the bedroom disappeared, and he knew Lightning had something to do with it, but he didn't piece it together like Riku did. "Lightning?" he prompted.

As Serah released her from the hug and moved to sit on the ground beside the couple, Lightning opened her eyes to look up at Kain. "I used time magic, somehow," she said lowly. "...I have no clue how I did it." She didn't have that ability before Valhalla, but now she did.

Riku's eyebrows furrowed as he took in what Kain said, though Lightning's input definitely had him curious. "...The Keyblade's a homing beacon," he said then, looking up at the other Keyblade Master. "They come here because the Keyblade's here. My visit must have doubled their numbers." His Keyblade called to the Heartless too. That's what made the population so great.

"Perhaps," Kain agreed. That was a likely scenario. "Or there is other conflict on this world." Or it was a combination of the two. Either way... "You defeated all of them by yourself?" he asked of Lightning. When she nodded her head softly, he asked another question. "How many?"

"Hundreds," Lightning responded quietly. "And they were...somewhat immune to the time spell. ...As soon as I struck one, it came back to life." It was really obnoxious, which was why she had to strike most of the Heartless with devastating blows before they could reanimate fully. But that drained a lot of strength along with the time spell.

Riku wasn't sure what to say. All he could do was hold Lightning close and take in that information. She took down hundreds of Heartless? How long did that time spell work? It must have taken her... Riku wasn't even sure how long, but that helped him understand why she was so weak. Not that he was happy about it, of course.

"You should tell everyone...that they should be on guard," Lightning said, looking up at Kain with tired but alert eyes. "Maybe they'll be back."

Kain shook his head softly. "Let me worry about that," he said, his voice as tender as it could be with Riku present and holding the woman he cherished. He looked to that man, his eyes defensive to cover the tenderness he felt towards Lightning. "Take care of her," he ordered of the young man. "I'm going to take care of this." If the Heartless did come back, it wouldn't be Lightning's burden.

Riku nodded to Kain with stern eyes. Kain definitely didn't have to worry about that; Riku wasn't going to pull anything and leave Lightning like he did last time. That time was over and done. It wouldn't be happening again, ever.

Kain turned and walked away, curling his hands into fists as he did so. It wasn't that he wasn't glad for Lightning--he was. He knew what Riku meant to her and what it meant to be safe in his arms at this very moment. But Kain wasn't going to leave her life because of this. He would continue to be whatever Lightning needed.

Riku lowered his gaze to the woman he loved, still cradling her in his arms. "Let's get you inside," he told her gently. It was getting colder out here, and the last thing Lightning needed was to get sick. She also needed to rest after all she'd done tonight, and all Riku put her through today.

Light nodded slightly, setting a hand on Riku's leg. "I can walk," she said quietly. At least, I hope I can. Pride was always an issue with her, and she figured it always would be. She was known for being a great warrior, yet more often than not, she was carried away from battles because she lacked the restraint to save strength for after the fight. It was a foolish mistake on her part.

Riku hesitated, but he relented and slowly started to help Lightning to her feet. He kept his grasp on her arm to make sure she didn't collapse, his protective side remaining. He kept his eyes on her, wondering if she was right in her ability to walk. She was so weak he wasn't sure.

Light smiled slightly at Riku's tight grasp on her arm. She wasn't surprised by it in the slightest; Riku was acting like himself. It was about time too, because she missed him lately. It had been like he was a different person.

"Well, I guess the deal is off, Riku," Serah said with a smile, approaching Riku's other side. "You made yourself known before the end of the conversation." Now they didn't have to leave right away. That Heartless attack actually worked in their favor, for once.

Riku caught that small smile from Lightning, and it warmed his heart. Serah's comment, however, had him rolling his eyes. "Let's just say things worked out for the best," he stated quietly, looking from Serah to Lightning. That he couldn't doubt. He and Lightning weren't fighting; they weren't glaring at each other or yelling. They were connecting again.

"Who would have thought we'd be thankful for Heartless?" Serah teased, lightly nudging Riku's arm with her own. She had a feeling Riku would have left to think about Lightning's words more and not have spoken to her immediately, but obviously that wasn't an option if the Heartless sprang a surprise attack.

Riku chuckled a little, releasing a small "hmph" in response. How could he deny that? Serah was right; Riku was actually thankful for Heartless, but... "Only a little," he replied with a small nod. "We could have done without a few problems along the way." His eyes darted to Lightning at the last bit, mostly because she was suffering most. She sacrificed her well-being to save the rest of them.

Lightning's corner of her lip turned up in a crooked smile. "It's worth it," she said. She was just glad to be by Riku's side again and to have him no longer infuriated with her or acting like he didn't care. She wanted to stay by his side as they walked, and not just crumpled on the ground because of weak legs. She shifted her arm and wrapped it around his shoulders for more support, sadly acknowledging that she needed all the help she could get.

Riku realized what Lightning was doing, and he wordlessly lifted his arm to grasp her hand over his shoulder, his other arm wrapping securely around her waist. The position warmed his heart, despite the circumstances. "Lead the way, Serah," Riku said to the younger Farron, jerking his head toward the castle. Riku would be escorting Lightning.

Serah nodded with a soft smile, which was present for many reasons. Riku obviously cared for Lightning, and he even humored her prideful nature by allowing her a chance to walk. She wanted to keep her eyes on the sight, especially when Lightning set a hand on Riku's stomach, but she started walking ahead of them anyway.

Riku walked at Serah's pace, which wasn't too fast or too slow. He appreciated it, but for different reasons than he was sure Lightning did; he got to take in the feeling of Lightning leaning on him and her hand on his stomach. It was just like it used to be.

"Hey," Light said softly to Riku partway through their walk. "Can I come home now?" He told her before to stay here, and she did what she was told just to make him happy. Well if coming home would make him happy, then she wanted to return. She felt like after kissing Kain, she couldn't stay here much longer.

Riku turned his head and gazed at Lightning, their close proximity making him take a second. But he also used the short moment to quickly think about why she would want to come home. If it was for him, he wanted her to reconsider. Any other reason, like she was okay enough and ready, he would accept it. "...Whenever you're ready," Riku replied with a faint smile. Lightning could decide when she wanted to come home; if she felt comfortable with it, he wouldn't stop her.

Lightning wrapped her arm further across Riku's stomach. "...I'm ready," she said quietly. He wasn't going to see her grieve again, or be lost to it like she was. She was going to find strength in both herself and in him, and she was going to get over the sadness of the situation. It was time to finish this fight against grief at home.
