Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

"Me, trouble?" Serah said innocently. "Never." She started out with a soft smile on her lips, knowing it was best to leave Riku and Lightning alone for a little while. Even if the latter was asleep, the two of them had been apart for over three weeks now. It was about time that they shared comfortable silence instead of bickering.

Riku watched Serah go before taking a seat on the bed. Lightning was in the middle of it, not that it mattered. Riku would squeeze if he had to. Until then, he gently swept her hair out of her face before running his fingertips along her cheek. He missed her the last three weeks... Especially this last week. It had been more than difficult for him to accept their relationship was over, but he was the one who initiated it. It was his move, and his mistake.

Lightning hummed drowsily, tilting her head towards the fingers that stroke her cheek. She hadn't felt such a tender touch in a very long time. Kain may have held her hand and kissed her this afternoon, but he hadn't done anything like this, and she was glad for that. This was Riku's place.

Riku couldn't help but smile, cupping Lightning's face with that hand. But that was when he remembered the necklace that was still wrapped around his wrist. Riku lifted that arm and looked at the pendant before deciding it needed to be returned to its rightful place. He let his hand leave Lightning's face and he untangled the necklace from his wrist, then putting it around his neck where it belonged.

Light opened her eyes briefly when the hand left her cheek, her gaze landing on the young man in front of her as he put on the necklace. Good, she thought in silence. It's back in its rightful place. She didn't think she could have worn it again, personally. That necklace belonged to Riku now.

Riku let his fingers trail down the chain until they found the pendant, which he held for a moment, simply gazing at it. Like he said before, this necklace connected him and Lightning. Something as small as a pendant held so much significance to both of them, however crazy that was. Lightning gave it to him so she was always with him, and it in turn gave him strength. When he gave it back, a part of him knew she wouldn't accept it, but now he knew why. It was his.

"Hey," Light whispered to Riku. If he would stop looking at that necklace for two seconds, he'd realize that she was half-awake and watching him. While she was happy he was dedicating the attention to the necklace, she wanted those aqua eyes on her for a bit.

Riku's eyes flitted from the necklace to the woman at his side, meeting her gaze. "Hey," he replied softly. He didn't expect her to be awake. In fact, he expected her to sleep for a couple hours at least after all she'd done. It couldn't have been easy.

"What are you doing?" Lightning asked with a tired, crooked smile. As if she didn't already know. He was obviously toying with the necklace that she gave him so long ago. She implied it was his to borrow back then, but now, it belonged to him. That was more fitting for both of them, and she liked that she was with him everywhere he went.

"Hmph," Riku grunted with a small smile. Lightning knew exactly what he was doing, something he figured by the look in her eyes. "Keeping you with me," he answered quietly. That's what he was doing. Whether in person or in spirit, Lightning would always be with him. That was the necklace's purpose.

"I like it when you do that," Lightning mumbled with sleepy eyes and sleepy smile. The words may have been childish and unelequent, but they were from the heart. Even if she couldn't be with Riku physically all the time, she was glad that the necklace would serve in her place when she was far away.

Riku's smile remained, though it turned a bit sad. He lowered his hand to Lightning's face again, gently running his thumb over her cheek. "I shouldn't have stopped," he confessed. He should have held onto the necklace, held onto her. It would have saved them both a lot of grief.

Light's eyes flickered shut at the gentle stroking. She heard Riku's words and agreed with them, which prompted her to hum quietly. He shouldn't have shunned her, but he was angry and she was upset and the whole situation was a mess. There was still some things that needed to be said to clear up that situation, but for now, all that mattered was that they loved each other.

Riku realized his caressing was helping Lightning to relax, so without another word, he kept it up. It was clear that she needed to rest, given all she had done. Riku would stay. Leaving now would be stupid. He almost lost Lightning to Darkness. As if he was going to leave her side.

Lightning was aware of the thumb running over her cheek; it was a feeling that was so clear to her at the start, but as she began to fall into slumber, the sensation became softer and softer. When she did fall asleep, it was only a minute after Riku started stroking her cheek, and though she couldn't pinpoint the sensation anymore, she felt loved as she slept.

While Lightning slept, Riku stayed by her side. He didn't stop stroking her cheek, having missed doing that for the last month, or close enough to that long. One of the servants came by to offer him some food, and while he was hungry, he knew that eating meant leaving Lightning, so he refused. When Serah returned, he advised her to get some food into her system; he didn't want Lightning or Snow lecturing him on not keeping her stomach full. So while that happened, he waited. Whenever Lightning woke up, he would be there.

The next morning, Lightning woke up to Riku's morning breath. As bad as anybody's morning breath was, she was just glad to wake up and have Riku close again. And she was glad to not feel so drained. The night's sleep had done her good. She gave Riku a kiss on the forehead while he slept, gazing at him for a few moments before she rose and got into the shower. It was time to get cleaned up.

Riku continued to sleep, his senses no longer on overload which allowed him to enjoy a deep sleep. He rested on his stomach, his shirt having been taken off when he decided to sleep for the night. His arms remained tucked under the pillows, and he was more than comfortable, despite being in Kain's place. But his heart did notice an absence, since Lightning was no longer by his side.

Lightning finished her shower, changed back into a dress for the time being, and looked to Riku. He was still knocked out. She smiled weakly at him, silencing her own chuckles. Well, she'd let him sleep a little longer. She went downstairs to retrieve food for both of them, figuring that wherever Serah was, she was taking care of herself.

Riku woke up after a little while, opening his eyes slightly to see an empty spot beside him. He blinked, becoming more awake at that. Where was Lightning? He sighed and let his face sink into the pillow as he fought his drowsiness, feeling a lot like Sora: lazy. Sora took the opportunity to sleep in whenever he could, but that was never Riku's thing. He was always up with the sun. It looked like that wasn't the case today.

Light reentered the room and saw Riku in the same position she left him in. "Lazy bum," she mumbled lightly, approaching the bed with a tray of food in her hands. It was enough for the two of them, though she did get larger portions for Riku since he loved food so much. Lightning had to admit, the cooks in this castle were incredible.

Riku smiled to himself, closing his eyes at the name. "That's reserved for Sora," he said of the title, voice muffled slightly by the pillow. Kairi called Sora "lazy bum" for years, and only she could call him that. If anyone else did so, Sora got defensive.

"Says the man who's too lazy to lift his face from the pillow," Lightning piped, climbing onto the bed carefully. She didn't want to dump the food all over Riku's back, and she also didn't want to get tangled up in her dress. His sense of smell must have been dulled by the pillow, because he hadn't peaked his face out yet despite the presence of food.

Riku's smile remained, though he finally caught onto the scent of bacon. He opened his eyes and lifted his head, seeing the tray full of food. Breakfast in bed? Not quite what I deserve, he thought, slowly sitting up so he didn't dump anything over. The covers fell away from his bare chest and to his lap, where they stayed as he looked from the food to Lightning. You didn't have to do this.

"Get it while it's hot," Light recommended, the tray sitting down in her lap as she leaned her back against the pillows and the headboard behind them. She personally was hungry, but she took her time in picking up her fork and digging into the eggs on her plate. It had been a while since Riku and Lightning shared a breakfast.
