Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

The next morning   Riku lingered in the living room as Lightning's guests talked on the sofas. It was the day after Sora and Kairi's wedding, and now that the event was over, everyone was heading ba

Light blinked when Riku disappeared, though she understood what happened. She couldn't help but smirk as she accepted the water he grabbed for her. "Abuse of power comes to mind," she teased. Using Dark powers to retrieve glasses of water was seriously wasting some power, but hey, if he wanted to do it, she wasn't going to stop him.

Riku shrugged with a small smile as he sat back down. "It worked," he stated, then proceeding to return to his food. Lightning couldn't deny that, even if he did abuse his power. Regardless, it was useful when the time called for it.

"So you don't deny it," Lightning said, setting a hand on Riku's shoulder lightly. She wasn't surprised that he didn't argue against her; she had a valid case on her side. If this was any other day where power needed to be conserved for some reason, she'd scold him, but today, all she foresaw coming was them leaving for home. No more Heartless attacks, hopefully.

Riku's small smile remained, encouraged by the light touch. It sent his heart into a frenzy, even if it was something so simple. But could anyone blame him? The woman he loved...who he let go...was accepting him again. He didn't think that would happen after everything that occurred the past few weeks.

Light took her hand away from Riku's shoulder and returned to her food and beverage. One thing she was going to miss about this world was the food. Not only was it delicious, but it was convenient too. But this life with a castle and servants was so strange to her; she couldn't picture herself living comfortably in this setting.

"Serah's gonna be glad to see you back home," Riku said after a few minutes' silence. He bit into more of his pastry and savored the taste, knowing that he wouldn't have it ever again. He didn't really want to come back to this place, which was why he was glad Lightning decided to go home. Otherwise Riku would have to bring Serah every once in a while; Snow couldn't do it.

Light rolled her eyes in good nature. "Yeah, she'll be the only one glad," she said sarcastically. She knew what Riku wasn't saying: he was glad that she was going home too. Why he wasn't being bold with her and saying it straight out was strange, but her comment was enough to poke at that topic.

"Snow too," Riku said in response, covering up his smirk with another bite of food. He knew what Lightning was referring too, and while he didn't deny it, he also didn't confirm it. But she had to have known that he was more than thrilled at her returning to where she truly belonged.

"Only two people want me home?" Lightning scoffed. "Forget it--I'll just stay here." She adopted the same technique as Riku, hiding her smirk by taking another bite of food. Of course she was just teasing him; she was eager to get back to home, whether it was on the Islands or on Cocoon. Wherever Riku was, she would be.

Riku couldn't help but chuckle, catching the humor. If he was too serious, he probably would have taken those words to heart. "I also forgot Hope, Vanille, and Fang," he said with a glance her way. "That's just Cocoon." Sora and Kairi missed her too, as well as Naminé and Roxas. Ventus, Aqua, and Terra were busy rebuilding their old home; they probably didn't even know she was gone.

"Still not enough to drag me away from this food," Lightning said, motioning to the food on her plate. That was a lie, obviously. Fang was probably going to kick her butt when she returned to Cocoon though, unless Fang went out on an adventure of her own. That woman could hardly ever sit still.

Riku smirked, nodding. "I can see why. It's amazing," he replied. He bit into a biscuit before reaching for some bacon. He remembered how hungry he was the night he found Lightning; she begged him to eat, and after refusing, he caved. His body needed the fuel, after all.

"It's decided then," Lightning said. She set her emptied plate beside her on the bed, stretched, and leaned more completely into the pillows. "I'm extending my vacation." If she was serious about that, she couldn't imagine how Riku would react. Or Serah, for that matter. Serah would probably be more confused than angry.

"I'm not gonna be the bearer of bad news again, especially with Serah," Riku said, looking at Lightning with taunting but serious eyes. "You're on your own." He wouldn't be doing that again. The first time was bad enough. Serah was mad, but she was more devastated than anything. That had been hard to witness.

"Great, thanks," Lightning said, rolling her eyes before she let them simply fall shut. Getting Serah angry wasn't a good idea in the slightest. She still remembered how her sister slapped her yesterday after she forced a kiss on Kain in front of Riku. That really was a stupid move, and at least Riku knew that she regretted it, since he overheard the conversation she had with Serah yesterday.

Riku kept his eyes on Lightning in the silence, his food eaten and glass empty. She was his focus now, as she had been when he split them up. He regretted it now, especially after how spiteful she became because of it. That kiss with Kain... It was a haunting memory. Riku looked away, busying himself instead with taking the tray off the bed. He didn't really want to think about that right now.

Light looked over at Riku, setting her plate and cup on the tray that was sitting between them as she followed his lead. It would be easier to carry a tray down than individual plates, if they even decided to carry them at all. Riku seemed to be feeling lazy today, so it was possible that he'd just teleport the things downstairs again.

Riku waited until Lightning had her plates on the tray, and with a quick glance her way, he teleported out of the room. He wound up in the kitchen again, and he apologized with another sheepish smile toward the lady he nearly knocked over. He set the tray down for the servants to deal with, saluting them before he teleported back to the bedroom. In the twenty seconds it had taken him, nothing changed. Unlike the time Riku and Lightning spent apart.

"That took longer than before," Light commented, crossing her arms over her chest as she looked to Riku. "Getting tired?" she taunted lightly. As if he would be that tired by this time of the morning, especially when he slept in. Riku wasn't the type of person to tire easily (which was good, considering he was a warrior).

"Lazy, remember?" Riku replied with a faint smirk, sitting down in the chair he ended up arriving beside. He didn't want to push any boundaries by continuing to sit by Lightning, as odd as that was. He slept beside her all night, and stroked her cheek the night before. But he still wasn't sure what she decided, other than going home. That could have simply meant going back to Cocoon, nothing more. Riku tried not to read too much into it.

"Extremely lazy," Lightning agreed with a tilted smile. Yet when Riku sat down in that chair, she felt something was off. She could have joked that he sat down in that chair because it was closest and because he was lazy, but that wasn't his reason, was it? Right after the battle last night, he would barely stop touching her, and now he was distancing himself. She was confused.

Riku sighed and leaned his head back against the chair, closing his eyes. "Sora must be rubbing off on me," he replied lowly. But Riku wasn't really being lazy, just...quick. He didn't really want to waste time walking back and forth from room to room. If he could teleport, why wouldn't he?

"And you look ready to take a nap even though you just woke up," Lightning commented, shaking her head slightly. Sora was known for taking naps whenever and wherever he wanted, so if Riku was falling into that, he was definitely being influenced by Riku. When she first knew Riku, he almost never relaxed. It was ironic that somebody as uptight as her loosened him up in some ways.

"I'm not tired," Riku said with certainty, opening his eyes to stare at the ceiling. "I'm just relaxing. I've lost a lot of sleep lately." He didn't mean to say it to upset Lightning, but to defend his position. He hadn't slept when Lightning was missing, and he didn't sleep while he was missing her. It was hard to rest at all while she was gone.

  • Author

Lightning tilted her head back, gazing up at the ceiling. "Yeah," she said. "Me too." She didn't know what to say other than that. She knew the reason that Riku lost sleep, and he surely knew why she didn't sleep much either. At first it had been dealing with her demons and sleepless mind, but after that, it was Riku-related.
