Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

The next morning   Riku lingered in the living room as Lightning's guests talked on the sofas. It was the day after Sora and Kairi's wedding, and now that the event was over, everyone was heading ba

Riku wasn't sure how to respond, so he didn't. Instead, he gazed at the ceiling, pondering the future. What would happen between him and Lightning? She saved him, he saved her; he declared is love for her, and she did the same for him. So what now?

Lightning felt the tension in the air; it was hard to ignore. So, something was wrong after all. She wasn't terribly surprised, but she wasn't happy it was there. She and Riku still had some talking to do, but she didn't know where to start. She didn't even know where he stood with everything she told Serah. But before she could bring anything up, she felt a gaze on her coming from the doorway. She turned her head and expected it to be Serah, but it wasn't. "Kain," she said in both surprise and greeting. She rose out of the bed and straightened her dress, seeing him nod silently in hello.

Riku lifted his head from the back of the chair and looked toward the door, nodding to Kain as well. However, he stayed seated. Kain was no King; Riku didn't have to rise at his presence. But being around Kain did make Riku tense. Kain kissed the woman he loved...right in front of him. That wouldn't go ignored.

"A word, Lightning?" Kain requested lowly. There was something he needed to discuss, and he needed to do it in private. Riku surely wasn't going to be pleased with what he had to say to Lightning.

Lightning only briefly glanced back at Riku, and that was because Kain's eyes went to him for a second. "Be right back," she said to Riku, starting towards Kain. Whatever he wanted to talk about, it must have been a serious topic.

Riku nodded a little, his eyes trailing Lightning's movements. With my luck, he'll propose to her, he thought in silence. Once Lightning was out of the room, Riku's eyes dropped to his knees. Well...he guessed he could think about what he would tell Sora when he got home, whatever happened upon leaving this place, that is.

Lightning and Kain's conversation was brief. He explained his case to her, gave his rationale, and answered any questions that she threw at him. It all made sense. After the Heartless attack last night, Kain realized it was more than two Keyblade wielders that attracted the monsters. He feared somebody in his counsel was responsible and wanted help to investigate. In order to do so, he needed somebody not in the council to help him, but that somebody had to be a person he trusted completely. Thus he spoke to Lightning and asked her to stay on the world for a little longer and help him. She nearly said yes right away, but then she said she needed to speak to Riku. She returned back to the room, paler than she left. Maybe she wasn't leaving after all.

Riku had his arms crossed over his chest while he waited for Lightning, but when she entered, they came undone. His eyes widened at her pale face, though his eyebrows then furrowed. "What's wrong?" he asked, rising to his feet and moving toward her instantly. What did Kain say that made Lightning so...sick?

Light waited until Riku was close to her to speak, keeping her voice low in case anybody was listening. "...Kain wants me to stay a little longer," she said quietly, setting a hand on his upper arm while she stood right in front of him. "He thinks there's a conspiracy and he wants somebody he trusts to help him uncover what's going on." And obviously he asked her to be that person.

Riku wasn't happy with the news, of course, but Lightning's touch calmed him down. He lifted his hands to set on her sides, the action coming naturally. "Are you comfortable doing that?" he asked lowly, keeping his voice at her level. She knew she could say no, even if she felt obligated. But...why would she be so pale? Did she not want to? Was she not ready?

Light set her gaze on Riku's chest, afraid to look in his eyes. "I am," she said quietly. "...If you are." Kain was an ally and a friend. She wanted to help him, even if it did mean that she had to stay away from home for a bit longer. But Riku had been so excited for her to go home again...

Riku shook his head slightly. "Don't base this off me," he told her softly. "You do what you feel is right." If she wanted him to stay, he could probably work something out. After all, he wanted revenge on whoever started the Heartless invasion if it was actually a conspiracy. They almost killed Lightning.

Lightning looked up to Riku's eyes. "My decision involves your opinion, whether you like it or not," she said bluntly. He couldn't tell her to separate him from her decision, because his opinion did matter to her--very much so. That was why she was pale and nervous to ask him about this.

Riku wasn't sure how to respond, his eyes lingering on Lightning's. He saw strength in them, but he also saw insecurity. "...Are you ready for this?" he asked. Lightning had been fighting her demons, and she said she would never fight again after Valhalla, even if she did fight off the Heartless. But spying was something else entirely. It took a lot out of a person mentally. He would know; he did it years ago with the Organization.

Lightning kept her eyes locked onto Riku's. "I'm ready," she said. She was regaining her strength--regaining herself. Last night she took up her sword again and fought back  when it mattered most. She battled her demons and had a relapse, but she was rising again. She was ready to face a new enemy.

Riku gazed at Lightning for a moment, taking in her words and the way she said them. Her voice was steady, her eyes didn't waver from his. She was sure of herself. "Okay," he said with a small nod, his hands starting to fall from her sides. If she wanted to stay, she could. Not that his permission was even necessary. Riku couldn't control her.

Light gazed into Riku's eyes a moment longer before she looked down to his chest. "...Sorry," she said. "I guess I'm not coming home for a little while." She knew that he was looking forward to it, and so she was sad that she was letting him down again. But this had nothing to do with any romantic connection to Kain; he was a friend who needed help.

"It's alright," Riku said with a small nod, his hands back down by his sides. Lightning was ready to come home mentally, but she was still needed here. A part of him really disliked Kain at the moment, but he wouldn't keep Lightning from doing what she wanted, or what she had to. The Heartless were a problem, bigger than they imagined if this was a conspiracy.

The next day, Lightning and Riku were on the Islands. She agreed to help Kain with his problem, but first, she had to return home to gather her things. If she was going to fight, then she was going to fight in her own clothes, not the dresses Kain provided. So she got her clothes from Cocoon, but now they were on the Islands, and she was confused about why that was.

Riku took in the salty air and sighed it out, glad to be home. Being at the castle... It made him stiff, uneasy. He just didn't like being there, but he wouldn't like being away from it because Lightning was going to stay there for a while longer. How much longer, he wasn't sure. But...he just hoped she was careful. He looked up to see his friends at the beachside café, all sitting at a table that was protected from the sun by an umbrella. At least they weren't pestering him about his mood anymore. Then again, they hadn't seen him in a little while.

Light lifted her gaze to Riku, seeing just how at home he was on this world. It made her grieved to think he was considering moving to Cocoon for her sake. But that wasn't today's topic. "...What's the purpose of this?" she asked Riku softly. She already had her things and was ready to go back to Kain's world, since she promised she would return quickly. What was the point of the detour?

Riku was keeping a secret, but he wasn't going to spill it right now. "...They've missed you," he said, glancing from Lightning to his friends as they stood a little bit away from the café. His friends had been worried about Lightning, though Riku didn't explain what was going on. Not in depth, anyway.

Light followed Riku's gaze to the cafe, noticing that her friends took notice of them. She flashed them a weak smile and a wave, though she spoke her words quietly to Riku. "Do they know anything?" she asked. Did they know that she was going back to Kain's world and leaving Riku behind again? Did they know what caused her to do it in the first place?

Riku kept his eyes on his friends for a moment, taking in their excited smiles. But then he looked to the woman he loved. "I told them you needed to get away," he said softly. He didn't say anything more. "...But they figured out we broke up." Riku came home without Lightning, and in a worse mood than when he left. It was pretty obvious, especially a few days after when all he did was sulk.

Lightning lowered her gaze to the ground. "But now, aren't we...?" She thought they were basically back together. They were acting mostly like a couple even though they still had some issues to talk through. She loved him and he loved her...that was all they needed to be together, right?

Riku smiled weakly and lifted a hand to rest on the back of Lightning's head. He wasn't really sure how to answer otherwise. "...C'mon," he said, dropping his hand and starting towards his friends. Were he and Lightning back together? He wasn't really sure. He slept in the same bed as her, which could qualify, but they hadn't talked about what happened between them. Riku hadn't even kissed her. There were still some things to cover.
