Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

The next morning   Riku lingered in the living room as Lightning's guests talked on the sofas. It was the day after Sora and Kairi's wedding, and now that the event was over, everyone was heading ba

Riku's eyes narrowed much like Kain's, his eyebrows furrowing when the man trailed off. They had to act like they were...a couple? Is that what Kain was getting at? Riku looked to Lightning to be sure he understood correctly. Is that what Kain didn't say?

Lightning's eyes were narrow, though not with anger. She caught onto Kain's drift and understood where he was coming from. "...That is problematic," she agreed lowly, looking down at the ground. She couldn't exactly act like Kain's girlfriend with Riku around. She hadn't even thought about him being a liability to the operation.

Riku looked from Lightning to Kain. "...Let me guess," he started lowly, "I'm gonna be a problem." If Lightning and Kain were to act as if they were together, then what was Riku's explanation? Things were "problematic," which meant Riku didn't make things easy.

Kain bluntly told Riku the truth. "For Lightning and I to openly search the case, we must act the same that we have for the past week when you were not here. After all, why should you need to be here when Lightning is my companion? Hypothetically speaking." She wasn't his companion in real life, but she was somebody he held dear, and somebody he trusted with this burden.

Riku crossed his arms and looked to the side, already coming up with a solution. "I guess that means I'll have to keep myself hidden," he declared. He was staying, but he would make sure to keep out of sight. He wasn't leaving Lightning after he promised her his company.

Kain's eyes hardened. Riku was making this difficult, but since Lightning wasn't protesting, he took it to mean that she wanted Riku's company. "Fine," he said shortly. "Follow me. We'll use a secret entrance so nobody can see you." He held out a hand for Lightning's bag, and though she was surprised, she handed it over to him before he started leading them to the secret entrance.

Riku's fists tightened when he saw Kain's offer, and a part of him wondered why he didn't do that. I should've, he figured. Kain was acting like a gentleman, but Riku believed it was more than that. Kain was trying to woo Lightning, wasn't he? With a frown, Riku brought up the rear, his eyes darting around the courtyard as they made their way toward the secret entrance. Obviously Riku was making this complicated, but Kain would have to let it go; Riku wasn't going to leave unless absolutely necessary. And that would be with Lightning at his side.

Kain led them through the narrow passages once they were inside, speaking lowly to them. "These passageways were created to allow escape if the castle was ever infiltrated," he said. "They go all throughout various parts of the castle. Riku, you can observe daily via the tunnels." They had tiny windows for air and vision, so he could watch people and eavesdrop while he was at it.

"Dark tunnels and no communication," Riku said, looking around with hard eyes. "Nothing I'm not used to." He did this for a year. He could handle however long they were here. He highly doubted it would be a year; Lightning wouldn't want to stay that long, he was sure. Until this was over, Riku would hide in the shadows, as usual.

Lightning's fists curled by her sides. "Riku," she said quietly, sorrow and heartbreak in her voice. She knew that he was bitter for a lot of reasons, and rightly so. He still didn't have a pleasant view of his time in Darkness, and he obviously didn't want to be trapped in the darkness of this castle either. She felt bad...

Riku put his hand on Lightning's lower back at the sound of her voice. He understood what she was feeling. "It's alright," he said lowly. He would be fine. He would sneak out and see daylight whenever he could, but he would make sure he didn't stand out, for obvious reasons.

As Lightning shook her head softly in disagreement, she barely noticed Kain stop in front of her. Thankfully she did notice and stopped before she would have rammed into him from behind. He pulled quietly at something on the wall and opened a door, leading them directly into the bedroom she stayed in before. As they entered the room, she blinked in surprise and turned around, seeing that the secret door had been hidden in a wardrobe that she had been unable to open. This was a surprising turn of events.

Riku stepped out into the light of the room and did as Lightning did, turning to look at the entrance they walked through. Well, that was concealed nicely. At least he knew a way out of the bedroom without being spotted, a path he would have to use every day they were here if he wanted to leave the room. He fought a sigh, approaching the bed and placing his bag down.

While Riku worried about his things, Kain spoke softly to Lightning about their plans for the next day. There were numerous meetings that he was required to go to as a captain of the guard, and he wanted her to at least go to and from those meetings with him so that she could meet important people and read them for herself. And when she wasn't doing that, she could walk freely around the castle and get to know others, such as the servants.

Riku turned to face the two opposite him, his arms crossing naturally. He could hear what Kain was saying, which he both understood and became aggravated about. One, Lightning would be with Kain all day, acting like they were together; that alone was enough to frustrate Riku. Two, Lightning (when she wasn't with Kain) would be doing her own thing amongst the castle, which meant Riku still couldn't talk to her. And three, Riku wasn't even sure what he would be doing while all of this was happening. Observing from a distance, sure, but how far would that get him?

"I'll see you in the morning, then," Kain said lowly to Lightning as he stood right in front of her. It was a little close for friends, but this was a serious conversation and he wanted Lightning's full attention for it. When she nodded and said goodnight to him, he nodded to her and briefly regarded Riku before he headed out and locked the door behind him so that nobody could walk in and see that Riku was on the premises.

Riku looked at the closed door, having not missed the close proximity Kain had just now with Lightning. "He's taking this 'couple' thing a little too seriously, don't you think?" he said lowly, not at all pleased with the sight. It reminded him of the garden, all that happened there, and then the kiss Lightning forced in front of him. The memories made Riku's jaw tighten in discomfort.

Lightning sighed, looking at the bed instead of Riku. "He's angry you're here, so he's trying to make you angry too," she figured. Must be a guy thing. They don't like being the only one angry. Nevertheless, she went to get her bag off the bed where Kain placed it and began to sort through her things. She guessed all there was to do now was start unpacking.

"He's jealous," Riku stated quietly. There was no doubt in his mind that Kain was upset Riku was here. He was jealous of the fact that Lightning wanted Riku's company, wasn't he? And that Riku would be sleeping in the same room? Kain must have assumed Riku and Lightning were on better terms now.

"Hard to say with him," Lightning said as she carried some clothing to an empty closet. Kain was one of her close friends, but he was mysterious and hard to comprehend a lot of the time. But he was intelligent, brave, and caring and most importantly to her, he was loyal. He was a person worthy of her trust.

Riku lifted an eyebrow, looking over at Lightning at the response. He shook his head and followed her lead, beginning to unpack. He wouldn't agree with her on that one. While Kain was difficult to read at times, Riku knew jealousy when he saw it.

Since Lightning started unpacking a minute before Riku, she finished a minute before him as well. As he put the last of his clothing in the wardrobe, she came behind him and embraced him, resting her head against the back of his in silence. What he said earlier about staying in darkness was still bothering her. Was he sure he wanted to do this?

Riku stayed where he was next to a dresser, having just put the last of his clothes away. He glanced out of the corner of his eye at Lightning, then looking down at her arms around his stomach. He hesitated a moment before placing a hand on her arm, still finding it a little weird that they were close so quickly. But then again, it never should have stopped. "What?" he asked softly. What was wrong?

Lightning shook her head softly, knowing her worry was obvious as she kept her position. "Are you sure you're okay with this?" she asked quietly. "Staying in the dark?" She would have asked him about the other thing too, but she was scared of his answer for that. If he said he couldn't do this, then she'd tell Kain it was because of staying in the dark, not because of any jealousy on Riku's part.

Riku closed his eyes at the question. "...It doesn't scare me anymore," he declared quietly. A year in Darkness made him stronger. He could withstand the duration of being in the shadows, as long as he was doing it for the greater good. He'd be alright.
