Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Lightning embraced Riku tighter, squeezing her eyes shut as she held him. I'm here, she wanted to say to him. And I'll be here every night when you come out of the darkness and back into the light. He wasn't afraid anymore--good. And he wasn't going to regain that fear as long as she was here to protest it.

Riku put both his hands on Lightning's arms at the squeeze. He conquered the Darkness once, but he never had to compete for love. But...was he really competing? Lightning was here...holding him, not Kain. But she had to act like she and Kain were together, which made Riku uncomfortable. Regardless, he knew he would have to get over it. This had to be done.

Light held onto Riku in the silence for a few more moments before she started to pull back. I guess we should rest, she thought, though she wasn't sure why she didn't just verbalize her feelings. There was something about this silence between her and Riku that was tense, but at the same time, it felt like there was nothing either of them could say to take the tension away.

Before Lightning could pull away completely, Riku turned around in her grasp and looked at her. He put his hands on her shoulders, after a moment lifting one to rest against her face. He took in her expression and sensed her worry. He felt that they were stressed out about different things, but...they would be alright. If they overcame everything this far, they could do this.

Light looked into Riku's eyes in silence, sighing after a few moments. They were both worrying for the other person's sake. Riku was worrying about Lightning and Lightning was worrying about him.  Neither were worrying about themselves. She stood taller and gave him a brief kiss on the lips before withdrawing, her eyes still on him.

Riku brushed back some of Lightning's hair after the kiss. "I love you," he reminded her gently. Despite the fact that they had a rough month, he wouldn't give up on her through this. Kain would make him uncomfortable, but he would get over it for Lightning's sake. She loved Riku, not Kain.

"I love you too," Light responded softly. She gazed at Riku for a few more seconds before she lifted one of her hands to grasp his. She silently led him to the bed before she sat down and began to take off her shoes. It was time to get some rest--tomorrow was going to be a busy and stressful day.

Riku followed Lightning's lead and started taking off his shoes, then removing his shirt. He would do as she silently requested and get some sleep. He wasn't sure what tomorrow was going to have for them other than business. He would be in the dark, she would be with Kain. It wouldn't be great, but this is what they signed up for.

A Few Days Later

Spying was exhausting. Acting like Kain's girlfriend was exhausting. All Light wanted to do was crawl into bed and sleep for a day and forget all this hassle. None of them made progress in cracking this case. There wasn't even a motive for anyone to summon the Heartless or anything. Lightning and Kain observed people openly while Riku remained more hidden. But now Kain had a method for pulling everyone together in circumstances where they'd hopefully be more comfortable sharing their secrets: a masquerade ball. So instead of sleeping, Lightning was doing her makeup in the bedroom. Servants could have done it, but she was still a bit weirded out by the idea of servants doing everything for her.

While Lightning was getting ready in the bathroom, Riku stood in front of a tall mirror to examine his own appearance. He just finished putting on his dress shoes, and now he adjusted the lapels of his tuxedo. The servants of the castle had one tailored for him (which he politely refused), but Kain insisted on it; since Riku was helping with the case, even if Kain didn't want his assistance, he was open for interacting tonight since he would be hiding his identity. Of course, he couldn't socialize with Lightning, since that would be suspicious. Riku pulled at the sleeves of his jacket and turned his head to look at the bathroom. "Almost ready?" he called softly. All he needed was to put on his mask and he was set.

"Yeah," Lightning called automatically, finishing with the mascara. She supposed she was ready. Tonight was the night she hoped to break this case. People weren't too eager to speak to her or Kain when they ran into them, but at a masquerade where people were hiding behind masks, there was a better chance of people being open. Besides, the alcoholic beverages would encourage some people to loosen their tongues as well.

Riku kept his gaze on the bathroom door, curious as to how Lightning would look. He'd seen her in a gown before, at another party that Kain had attended. It was just after the war with Xehanort ended, or so they believed. Regardless, she had been beautiful; he expected the same for tonight.

Lightning put down the makeup and grabbed her black mask before heading out into the room. Riku, naturally, looked extremely handsome in his tuxedo, even if it was a bit dated like the rest of this world's fashion was compared to their home worlds. Lightning's dress was dated too, but somehow it was still nice. It was a deep, rich purple dress with a tie-up back that reminded her of a corset in both looks and its ability to suck her breath away. The bottom was "princessy" in size, but not in an incredibly obnoxious way.

Riku's aquamarine eyes traveled over Lightning's dress, and he found himself at a loss for words. He knew she would look great, but...she still took his breath away. "You look..." he started, smiling slightly, "...beautiful." She was always beautiful, but this emphasized her beauty more.

Light's lips turned up in a crooked smile. "Thanks," she said, though she brushed off the comment lightly so that she wouldn't blush. She lowered her head slightly and began to put on the mask, careful of her pink hair. It was curlier than usual, but other than that, it still laid mostly over one of her shoulders. "You're lookin' handsome yourself."

Riku smiled softly as well, watching Lightning put on her mask. It reminded him that he had to grab his own. Riku approached the bedside table and grabbed his simple black mask, easily putting it on as well. He wasn't sure how tonight would go, but he was hoping for some leads. The week so far had been quiet.

Lightning straightened out her hair once the mask was on, though her gaze then landed on Riku. "Promise me you'll sneak in one dance," she requested with the same crooked smile. She knew things had been...tenser, between them, but she didn't think it was because of any relationship problems. Riku was just irked that Kain was spending more time with Lightning than he was.

Riku turned to Lightning once his mask was secured, smirking as he nodded. "Promise," he swore. He couldn't imagine not stealing a dance from her. Whenever the opportunity came up, he usually took it, since Lightning wasn't much of a dancer and neither was he. But he wasn't going to let some other guy take a dance with Lightning, especially Kain, when he had the chance.

Light smirked, approaching Riku. She stopped in front of him and gently began pulling at some of the hair that got caught in the mask's straps so it was lying more smoothly. "How about two dances minimum?" she suggested lowly. She wanted as much time with him as possible tonight.

"Let's make it three," Riku wagered softly. He wanted three dances minimum with the woman he loved. He had barely seen her the past few days, which added up to very little time together the past month. He wanted more of her company, more than what came when she came to her room at night.

"One, maximum," Kain said from the doorway. He had been there long enough to hear what they were talking about, and though he knew it was harmless flirting, he had a point to emphasize here. Lightning spending excessive time with anyone but Kain was going to cause suspicion. He looked at the pair and saw Lightning slowly withdraw her hands from Riku as her eyes landed on Kain, a look of seriousness taking over. At least she was ready for the mission.

Riku wasn't happy to see Kain. Not only did he ruin the moment, but he was taking the woman he loved away. He exhaled softly and placed a hand on Lightning's lower back. "I'll see you downstairs," he told her gently. He couldn't enter alongside her and Kain, as that would arouse suspicion. They had to play this out correctly. He would go down now, assuming they would follow when they were ready.

"Yeah," Lightning agreed, restraining herself from kissing Riku on the cheek. "See you down there." Despite Kain's interference and disapproval, she hoped that she and Riku could have more than one dance. Surely Kain didn't intend to hog her the entire night. He started in to speak to her, walking past Riku as he did. It was time to set the plan in motion.

Riku started out the same time Kain walked further in, briefly glancing at him before he left the room and started down the hall. Nobody would know who he was with the mask on, so he didn't have to worry about any questions being thrown his way. He instead kept a straight face and walked down to the ballroom, where the party was being held. Many guests were already present, classical music playing throughout the wide, spacious room. He busied himself with blending in, eyes darting this way and that. Let's hope this works.

Lightning and Kain spoke for a period of time, and he refreshed her on the specifics of the plan. She would try to coax men into dances and he would likewise speak to some noblewomen. But of course, she couldn't be too flirtatious because this ball was actually a celebration of their engagement. This was her first time hearing about such a thing, and she spent the next five minutes scolding Kain for throwing this on her. But he simply shrugged and said, "I needed a reason to get everyone together." Once they were sure most of the party guests were there, Lightning and Kain walked to the large ballroom and she had a new ring on her left hand.
