Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Kain's eyes narrowed. He assumed this interruption had something to do with Lightning, and he thought it was unnatural for Riku to come to him immediately after dancing with Lightning. He was being very reckless with his cover. "What?" he asked lowly, fighting the urge to scold Riku for his stupidity. The sooner they got done talking the better.

Riku glanced around before deciding he needed to do this with little questioning. He wrapped an arm around Kain's shoulders like he would Sora, then starting to walk. "Let's talk," he said lowly, placing a smile on his face to complete his friendly façade. He felt the farthest from friendly, however. That would show in a moment when he got Kain away from the crowd.

Kain didn't wrap an arm around Riku's shoulders in return; it would have been out of his character. Riku was fortunate that he didn't have a specific character he had to act as; he was already failing at being subtle. Lightning is going to kill me later for the surprise, and I'm going to give you a beating for this stupidity later, boy, he thought to Riku, though his face didn't show his anger or tension.

Riku eventually got Kain away from the crowd and somewhere quiet, out of hearing range and out of sight. It was then that he took his arm away from Kain and instead used his weight to shove Kain into a nearby wall, no longer being so subtle. Kain had some explaining to do.

Kain's back hit the wall and it didn't phase him one bit. "I'm guessing you discovered the purpose of this masquerade," he said lowly, staring at Riku from his spot. This wasn't just a masquerade to get close to suspects; it was a ball to celebrate his engagement to Lightning. Obviously the engagement was a farce, but it ticked off both Lightning and Riku all the same.

"Obviously," Riku hissed, hands clenched in fists by his side. "Light told me you didn't spill until the last second. Any specific reason you forgot that small detail?" Riku was in on this plan too. He deserved to know what the setup was, and so did Lightning, way ahead of time. Moments before the party and during the party weren't acceptable, in Riku's opinion.

"Because I knew you would have a negative reaction," Kain said easily. He only had one way of getting this party to come into being, and that was by saying that he and Lightning were to be wed. Yes, he understood Riku wouldn't want Lightning to be called Kain's fiance, but this was all according to the plan of catching the summoner of the Heartless.

"I nearly blew my cover because of your secret plan," Riku snapped lowly, fury in his eyes. "If you would have told me sooner, I wouldn't have had a problem." Kain couldn't expect him to actually be okay with this, could he? Riku was in love with Lightning, and Lightning was in love with him. This wouldn't go over well, especially when revealed in the midst of their mission.

"What a lie," Kain scoffed. Of course Riku would have had a problem even if he was fully aware of what was going on. "And I watched you. You nearly blew your cover on numerous occasions that didn't revolve solely around my secret. Pull your act together or get out." He had no patience for Riku tonight.

"Or what? You gonna throw a wedding tonight too?" Riku said, taking a step toward Kain. Riku wasn't going anywhere. Lightning was here, which meant he was staying. He wasn't leaving her side, not again. He made that mistake once, and that led Kain this far. Riku didn't believe he came close to blowing his cover; there were a lot of characters here tonight. Speaking with Lightning or Kain wasn't out of the ordinary by any means.

"I'll save that for tomorrow, should I need another reason to gather a crowd," Kain spat. "You are wasting mine and Lightning's efforts by pulling me away from the ball. Do you want this all to be for naught just because you're upset at my secret keeping?" And besides, you have kept plenty of secrets of your own, he silently added, conveying the message with his eyes.

"Do I need to repeat myself?" Riku hissed, stepping closer to be right in front of Kain. His secret nearly cost Riku his cover. "This plan involves the three of us. Not just you. Sharing might be more beneficial towards the cause." Keeping anything to themselves would cost them greatly.

  • Author

"I'll share when I feel it's important," Kain said. "I brought Lightning into this mission telling her to trust my judgment. She agreed to do so even if it involved secrecy. I hold you to the same standards." He stepped forward and tapped Riku back with his hand, showing that he was not going to be bullied by him.

"It would have been great to even know the standards," Riku practically growled. The tap back had him clenching his fist to fight the Darkness that wanted to swallow his hand. He needed to control himself here. He couldn't lose himself to Darkness over Kain's stupidity.

"You forced yourself upon me," Kain said. "I expected you would trust Lightning's judgment even if you did not agree with me. This may bother you, but she does indeed trust me. Perhaps she's infuriated at my sudden move tonight, but she still trusts my motives." Riku was jealous that Kain held such trust from Lightning.

"You sure this isn't because you're jealous that she trusts me with her heart?" Riku replied lowly. "You know that's always bothered you, right? So why not keep this a secret and watch me fight the urge to slug you with all those people around? Sick of you, really." But Riku had Kain cornered, and while he was eager to show Kain he meant business, he had to hold back for the ball.

"I'm jealous of you in only one aspect," Kain said as he glared deeply into Riku's eyes. "That you can call Lightning your own. But I am glad to call her a friend and an ally. Perhaps she trusts you romantically, yes, but I believe you're jealous of the fact that Lightning does trust me in other aspects of her life. She trusts me even in  her times of deepest grief." It was probably a mistake for him to bring up that point, but he hardly cared.

Riku ground his teeth together and brought up an arm, pushing it against Kain's chest as he forced the man against the wall. "Her grief isn't for your leverage," he snarled, aquamarine eyes vicious behind his black mask. Kain didn't need to use it to win an argument, ever.

Kain stared at Riku in silence for a few seconds. "Lightning shall decide on her own," he said cordially. "For now..." He motioned with a hand towards the masquerade. It was time for them to return to the party and continue the investigation. He felt badly for leaving Lightning on her own for a while.

Riku fought the urge to slug Kain right then and there, but he resorted to shoving him harder against the wall before walking back to the party. He wasn't sure how he was going to blend in now, with how furious he was, but he would do his best to conceal his hatred for Kain to solve whatever mystery they needed to. Riku wanted out of this castle as soon as possible.

Kain hmphed bitterly in amusement, straightening his outfit. Riku certainly was hotheaded. Granted, there was reason to be passionate when Lightning was involved, but Riku should have stayed in the ball room instead of confronting Kain. Surely that was what Lightning would have wanted. He composed himself and made his way back into the ballroom, choosing a young lady to escort onto the floor almost immediately.

Riku made it into the ballroom before Kain, and while the "groom" escorted someone onto the dance floor, he made his way into a crowd to blend in again. But something stopped him short, though he made sure to conceal his jerky movement. Darkness... He sensed a Darkness. But why? Did that mean the person responsible for the Heartless attack was here?

Lightning, far away from the ballroom by now, felt herself be shoved into a prison cell against her will. She stumbled back in, fortunately not tripping on her dress when her back hit the wall. "Casting a spell on a girl while you're dancing with her is really rude," she snarled lowly at the two men that brought her back to this cell. She had been dancing with one of them when she suddenly felt herself growing weak. Her legs partially paralyzed and the man forced her out of the ball room to this prison cell. These must have been the men behind the Heartless attack.

A young man only smirked. "We had to give the guest of honor special treatment," he said in his defense. There was a reason behind this kidnapping of sorts. His sister was meant to marry Kain, and now that this...outsider was engaged to the warrior, there was hell to pay. His sister's marriage had been arranged for a while now. How Kain got the nerve for this was infuriating. So now they would make him suffer, through Lightning.

"Yeah, I heard," Lightning said, rolling her eyes. "You're jealous Kain chose me over some girl he was supposed to marry when he was two. Cry me a river." She glared at the brother who just spoke to her, along with the other one who spilled the information to her on their way to the cell. She found this whole situation ridiculous. Were they hoping she would run away from the world because she was afraid of them? As if she would be afraid of such cowards.
