Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

The next morning   Riku lingered in the living room as Lightning's guests talked on the sofas. It was the day after Sora and Kairi's wedding, and now that the event was over, everyone was heading ba

Riku's amber eyes widened, another tear trickling down his cheek at the question. She didn't even know who she was anymore?! "Take her," he said, looking to Kain. "Get her away from me." He couldn't do this...not anymore. He had to get the Darkness off his hands, literally. He had to stop...

Kain disregarded Riku's plea, too infuriated to put his hands on Lightning. He first took off out of the cell and went in the direction the villains did. But once he reached a main hallway, he realized that they were long gone. With his anger still boiling inside of him, he returned to the couple in the cell. "Pick her up," he ordered, speaking gently because of who the order concerned. "We're taking her to the castle healers." They could hopefully help.

"You don't understand!" Riku roared in fury and impatience. "I'm only going to hurt her more! Now get her away from me!" He couldn't do this! He caused all of this, and the last thing he was going to do was touch Lightning any further. Carrying her when he still had to let the Darkness go... It would bring more damage.

Kain knelt down and took Lightning out of Riku's chest. It was an easy task since Lightning was too weak to cling to him at all, and Riku was eager to get her away. He held her bridal style, her gorgeous purple dress remaining the same as it had all night. But this was no time to dwell on her beauty. He silently ordered Riku to follow as he started briskly towards the rest of the castle.

Riku was relieved Kain didn't argue any further. He rose to his feet and followed Kain in a fast walk, but his amber eyes stayed on his arms as he tried to will the Darkness away. He breathed heavily through his teeth, grunting as they went along as he tried to physically fling the Darkness off of him. Get off! he ordered silently, wanting the sickness...the illness that tainted Lightning to leave his system.

Kain shoved the doors of the medical suite open with his shoulder, though he was careful with Lightning in his arms. Thankfully the medics were on duty, despite the ball. "She's been poisoned by Darkness," he quickly informed the chief healer. "Can you help her?" They had to help her...

Riku stayed outside, hearing one of the healers request Kain bring Lightning to a bed. But Riku's amber eyes stung with unshed tears and anger and Darkness, which he tried to shun as quickly as possible. Thankfully nobody was in the hall to see this; they would flee, or attack him. He deserved the latter after all he just did, but...did he really have a choice? Lightning could have died.

Like Riku had done to Lightning, the chief healer placed his hands on either side of Lightning's head. His hands began to glow with Light, hopefully beginning to clear Lightning's head. Kain watched it all with worried eyes, not caring that everyone in the room was seeing his softer side. The engagement may have been a farce, but his care for Lightning was not. He sat down in a chair next to the bed, grasping one of Lightning's hands in silence. Come back...

The burning in Riku's eyes faded, but only because of the amber color disappearing. He breathed deeply and closed his eyes to calm himself down, memories of Lightning's laughter and smiles flashing before him. Memories of the two of them on the beach after Valhalla, messing around in the water. Memories of their past dates, mornings in bed, and just...Lightning. His Light helped vanquish the Darkness, and soon the coldness disappeared, the black and purple flames vanished from existence. Riku opened his eyes to look down at his limbs, only seeing his pale skin. He sank to the floor in relief, but also in grief. He buried his hands in his hair and felt more tears leave his eyes, dread filling his heart. What did I do?

A few minutes later, Lightning was slightly coherent. At least, she was aware enough to realize that somebody was missing from her room. Kain took her request and walked into the hallway, seeing Riku on the ground. "Lightning wishes to see you," he said softly. "She asked for you." She was coming back...

Riku lifted his head to look at Kain, not thinking at all of his appearance. His hair was messy due to his most recent position and his eyes were red, cheeks damp. "...What?" he asked lowly, confused. Why was Lightning asking for him? Did the mage bring back her memories just like that?

"She's slowly coming back," Kain informed Riku, keeping his voice low. "She knows who she is, who I am, and you too. Everything else..." He shook his head slightly. Everything else was coming more slowly. But at least it was returning to her, and Lightning was recovering from the trauma. How did this even happen...?

Riku looked ahead of him at the news, steeling himself as he took in a breath. Right...okay, he thought. He lifted his arm and ran it over his eyes to get rid of the moisture. He then rose to his feet and nodded to Kain. He wasn't sure how he would be when he saw Lightning, which was why he prepared himself as much he could in the time allowed. He needed to keep it together.

Lightning had her eyes shut, warm hands against her head. She felt like she was coming out of a trance. At first she had no clue where she was or what was going on. Then she felt a warm hand grasping hers and a name came to her mind. Riku. And with his name, she remembered herself, and Kain as well, though she knew Kain and Riku didn't get along for some reason. Now she was alone with some healer...She wanted Kain or Riku to come back.

Riku walked into the room with Kain, but he stopped upon seeing Lightning in the bed. Instead of Darkness coming from the hands that held her head, Light did. That was how it should have been. He clenched his jaw as the sight of her in this state pained his heart, but he kept his knees locked and simply looked at her. Claire, what did I do to you?

Lightning peeked her eyes open, though it was hard to see while she was reclining. She set a hand on the bed and began to prop herself up, much to the protest of the medic and Kain. She was dizzy at first and her eyes showed she wasn't all with it, but at least her eyes landed on her target and stayed there. "Ri...ku..." she said quietly, her voice different from when she barely whimpered his name earlier.

Riku's eyebrows furrowed as he fought the urge to run to Lightning's bedside. That wouldn't be the smartest idea given what was happening to her now and what she went through before. He needed to keep his distance until he was sure it was safe. I'm sorry, Riku thought pathetically, sad aquamarine eyes on the woman he loved. He was ashamed of himself.

Kain watched as Lightning swung her legs off the side of the bed, but she didn't get far. Suddenly he was there with a hand on her shoulder. "Not yet," he said lowly, though his voice was still tender with her. She needed time to recover. Riku was going to need to come to her if they were going to be close, because Kain wasn't letting her off the bed for a while.

Riku looked between Kain and Lightning, a thought passing through his mind just for a second: Maybe they're better off together. But he quickly got rid of it. That was ridiculous! He proved more times than he could count how much he and Lightning were meant to be together. He wasn't about to quit now, not again. Claire was his Light in the deepest Darkness, even if it was his Darkness.

Kain's eyes softened at Lightning's expression. Her confused and frustrated eyes had no mask to cover them right now. "I know that you're beginning to feel better," he told her lowly, "but there's still more healing to be done. Trust me, even if it's just one more time." He told her to trust him with the plans, but those were hardly important compared to this. He wanted her to heal. That was far more significant than any plan to capture villains, even if those villains caused this to happen.

Healing. Riku looked away at the word, his heart squeezing. The only reason Lightning needed to heal was because of his Darkness. He may not have had a choice, but...why didn't he use his Darkness against the enemies when he had the chance? Why didn't he use his powers to get the jump on them? Why didn't Riku think?

Kain kept a hand on Lightning's shoulder to keep her down, though she wasn't trying to rise anymore. The healer stepped around to Kain's side and placed his hands on Lightning's head again. He watched as her eyes flickered shut, hearing her wince slightly. The healing wasn't a completely painless road either; he knew that. But it was better than waiting for the effects of Darkness to run its course.

Riku felt a gaze on him and looked to one of the healers. They were mages; they could sense Darkness, surely. And when this woman looked at Riku, she frowned in distaste. His fists clenched as he looked away. Clearly the mage knew he was to blame for this mess, but did Lightning know that? Did she have that memory?

After a few more seconds, Lightning asked why Riku wouldn't come near her. Kain didn't even have time to respond before Lightning quietly ordered Kain to drag Riku over to her. So he did. He released Light's shoulder and walked over to Riku, setting a hand on his shoulder instead. "She ordered me to take you to her," he said lowly to the young man. So go to her.

Riku was surprised when Kain simply set a hand on his shoulder and didn't drag him over to Lightning's side. Regardless, he made eye contact with Kain, but only briefly. He turned his head to see the woman he loved with the mage's hands around her head, and he walked out from underneath Kain's hand. He rubbed the back of his neck and kept his eyes on the floor, slowly making his way to the bed. Riku would keep his distance, even if Lightning requested he came closer.
