Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

The next morning   Riku lingered in the living room as Lightning's guests talked on the sofas. It was the day after Sora and Kairi's wedding, and now that the event was over, everyone was heading ba

Riku sighed and wished his family back home a silent goodnight before he turned and started away from the balcony. He walked back into the ballroom and saw Kain and Lightning on the other side of the area, but he started toward another door that would take him toward his destination: his room. He needed this day to end.

"I'm fine," Lightning repeated, slowly pulling away from Kain. "Fine, see?" She stood on her own, dusting off her dress nonchalantly. "If the night's over, though, I'm going to bed." She just wanted to sleep away this fatigue and fill in the blanks of her memory. Kain insisted on carrying her, but she further insisted on walking. He gave in, but he trailed her all the way to her bedroom before stopping at the door. He looked like he had something he wanted to say to her, but he chickened out and left her alone.

Riku was in the bedroom already. Actually, he was in the bathroom attached. He walked out, in lounge pants for the night and running a towel over his damp hair. After everything experienced in the dungeon, he had to get rid of the experience, at least a bit. A shower was his best idea, because forgetting it was out of the question.

Lightning looked and saw Riku coming out of the shower, and she had no clue what to say. It was like he was avoiding her, but she didn't know why. She couldn't help feeling like she did something wrong and he was upset with her, but she didn't have the energy to fix whatever issue was going on right now. Though standing was exhausting, moving was even worse. She felt like she couldn't move even one step forward as she stared at her beloved.

Riku looked up while running the towel over his hair, but he stopped upon seeing Lightning. He lowered the towel in silence, just looking at her. What could he say? Was there anything to say? Riku wasn't so sure. Did she remember what happened between the two of them? Did she want him to get out? There were tons of empty bedrooms here. He could just take one of them.

Lightning began to lose her balance again, and thankfully there was a wall nearby. Her shoulder hit it a bit hard, but not as hard as she would have hit the floor if she fell all the way. She leaned into the wall, pained and tired eyes landing on Riku. "Please," she said weakly. "I need you." Whatever was wrong, she was asking him to put it aside for a little while.

Riku blinked when Lightning hit the wall, and without hesitation he threw his towel onto a nearby chair and started over toward her. He stopped in front of her, his hand hovering above her arm for only a second before he lightly grasped it. "You need to rest," he told her lowly. She didn't need him; she needed sleep.

"I need you," Lightning repeated, looking up into Riku's eyes. She couldn't read what was in them other than concern, but that was all she needed to see right now. Yes, she needed rest--desperately so. But she also needed Riku, and she needed to know that he was with her. The fact that she couldn't remember the whole night was really unnerving.

Riku gazed at Lightning for a moment, surprised to see so much vulnerability. After what happened earlier, he should have expected it. His grasp remained light on her arm as he simply nodded, keeping eye contact. Okay. If she needed him, he was there.

Lightning saw the permission in Riku's eyes and she took advantage of it. She wrapped her arms around him in an embrace and leaned into him, hopefully not too suddenly, since she didn't want either of them to topple to the ground. The last thing she remembered was something about him promising her a dance. But she didn't remember such a dance occurring.

Riku looked down at Lightning when she leaned into him, though it was more like crashing. She was really weak. His hand moved from her arm to her back, the other lifting to rest on the back of her neck. He wasn't sure what else to do but hold her, but even that felt weird; he didn't believe he should touch her after what happened earlier. Wasn't she afraid?

"Sorry," Light muttered into Riku's shoulder. "I can't stand in these heels..." Again she was blaming it on her shoes, but she didn't care. She would take any excuse she could get just to be in Riku's arms for a few more moments. Her head was so fuzzy and her muscles so weak...

Despite his thoughts, Riku couldn't help but smile faintly. "You're better off in boots," he told her softly. She always wore boots beforehand. Honestly, he didn't even think about her wearing heels tonight, but he guessed it only suited the occasion and the dress. Regardless, it was about time she got more comfortable.

Lightning smiled softly along with Riku. "I tried to tell Kain to let me wear boots but he said it was improper," she said, peeking her head out of his shoulder a bit. "I think he just wanted to force me out of my comfort zone again." He did that easily on this world, since it was so different from any other living situation she was in.

Riku lowered his head a little to try and see Lightning's face. "Not one of his best choices," he said quietly. He was surprised Lightning even went along with it. She never did anything she didn't want to unless it was for a good cause or for someone she cared about. Well...she did care about Kain. That was why she was here.

"Right," Lightning agreed, burying her face in Riku's warm shoulder. "I'll scold him for it...tomorrow." Tonight, she was far too exhausted to track him down and yell at him for making her wear heels. And there was something else she wanted to scold him about too--something far more important than heels. But she forgot what that was.

Riku felt the skin of Lightning's face against his bare shoulder, the cloth of her dress warm against his skin. He knew she needed to get changed, but she seemed too tired for it. She couldn't sleep in a dress, though; that would be ridiculous. "...You should change," he told her gently, running his hand over her curled hair. "Then you can sleep."

Light couldn't lie and say she wasn't tired, because she obviously was. She slowly brought herself out of Riku's arms, though she kept hers resting on his for stability purposes. "I'll be right back, then," she said quietly. She carefully withdrew, starting towards the bathroom and stepping out of her heels as she walked. She shut the door partway behind her and began to take off the gown, ready to just collapse and sleep.

Riku watched Lightning go, and while she busied herself with getting changed, he got the bed ready for her. He was exhausted as well, but he didn't think he'd be sleeping easily tonight. He had a lot to think about, especially concerning the woman he loved.

Lightning came out a few moments later, discarded gown over her arm. She tossed it on the floor carelessly, no longer having need of it. She now donned shorts and a black camisole that matched the bags under her eyes. "Riku," she called weakly, leaning against the wall by the bathroom. But she couldn't even stay on her feet. She sank down to her knees, her head dipped in exhaustion.

Riku's eyes widened and he quickly got to Lightning's side. He kneeled down next to her, one hand finding her shoulder while the other cupped her face. He knew she was weak from what he did to her, and that definitely didn't help with the guilt. He frowned in shame, along with sorrow. "You alright?" he asked quietly. Apart from the exhaustion, he meant.

"I'm fine," Light breathed, allowing her eyes to remain shut as she lifted her hands and set them on Riku's upper arms. "Sorry." She was sorry for causing him so much worry; she was just unnaturally tired. She knew that this weakness was connected to Darkness, but she didn't ask whose Darkness caused this.

"So am I," Riku said lowly, eyebrows furrowing as he gazed at Lightning. But then he moved his hands to her waist, helping her to her feet. "Let's get you to bed." They weren't that far from it to begin with. Riku gently got Lightning onto the mattress, though he knelt down in front of her so he could see her face better. His aquamarine eyes darted over every inch, trying to find a sign that he could help somehow. He needed to find something, that way he could find redemption in his mistake.

Light laid on her side in the bed, facing Riku as he knelt beside the furniture. His expression was heartbreaking. "Babe," she pleaded softly, surprising herself with the pet-name. She hardly ever used them, but she wasn't going to analyze that right now. He looked so sad, so helpless...She could see that even in her current state.

Riku's eyes softened at the name, something he hardly ever heard. He lifted a hand and brushed Lightning's hair away from her face. I'm sorry, he silently apologized. He did this to her... But it was either this or she died. The decision was so obvious.
