Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

The next morning   Riku lingered in the living room as Lightning's guests talked on the sofas. It was the day after Sora and Kairi's wedding, and now that the event was over, everyone was heading ba

"We danced, but only once," Riku confirmed lowly, eyes opening to glare at the ceiling. Of course they danced. Riku took the opportunity as soon as he could. But what happened afterward... That was something Riku wanted to forget.

"Maybe once we feel like crawling out of bed, we can redo that dance," Light suggested quietly, lifting a hand to Riku's chest. Of course that dance would be minus the masks, formal dresses and tuxes and even the music, but she didn't care. They didn't dance for any of those shallow reasons; they danced to be in each other's arms and in sync with each other.

Riku blinked at the words, turning his head to look at the woman who lay beside him. Lightning willingly wanted to share another dance with him? He figured she wanted to avoid dances whenever she could; they only took the opportunity when it arose. Most of the time music called for it, or an event their friends planned. But...when would they ever have that chance again?

Lightning felt a sharp gaze on her, so she tilted her head and looked up at Riku's eyes. Unfortunately, she couldn't see him very well from that spot, so she withdrew a little bit and sat herself up. "What?" she asked quietly. What was that look for?

"You aren't up for dancing most of the time," Riku told Lightning softly. Why the change of heart? Riku usually had to pull her out onto the floor to get her to dance with him. This time she may have wanted to, but she was also obligated; she had an identity to protect at the time. And now Lightning would willingly go out of her way to make up for it?

Lightning lowered her gaze to the hand that rested on Riku's chest. "For you, I'm up for anything," she stated quietly. Maybe Riku did have to drag her out onto the dance floor, but he obviously found pleasure in dancing with her on occasion. Though she was too stubborn to admit it, she liked dancing as well, as long as it was with Riku.

Riku smiled weakly at the declaration. He leaned up a little and gave Lightning a gentle kiss on the lips, retreating after a moment. It still felt...odd to kiss her, but it was so natural all the same. It took one week without Lightning for Riku to know he was incomplete if she wasn't at his side. Did she feel the same?

Light smiled weakly at the kiss Riku gave her. But he just didn't seem normal to her. Granted, the two of them were sometimes awkward since all this drama began, but it was more than that. "Are you okay?" she asked him, keeping her voice low. Something seemed off, like it had last night.

Riku was tempted to mask every emotion he had, but he knew Lightning would notice and proceed to scold him. So instead he let his gaze rest on the ceiling. How was he supposed to answer that? There was lying, which would not go over well, or being honest, which also wouldn't go well. But Riku figured his body language already gave him away.

Lightning's small smile vanished by the time Riku looked to the ceiling. She was right, then--something was wrong. But instead of poking and prodding and forcing him to break his silence, she laid back down beside him. She rested her head against his side and began to rub her hand over his chest without another word. I'm here for you, whatever it is.

Riku's eyebrows furrowed as he stared at the ceiling. Lightning's touch was obvious; the message behind it was easily understood. "...I know you remember a few things from last night, but..." he started, closing his eyes as he suddenly tensed. "There's a lot you've forgotten." Like his Darkness, for example.

Lightning didn't say anything, though she almost did. She thought that Riku would interpret that he didn't have to tell her immediately, and that she'd wait for him to talk to her, but either he didn't get that message or he did and felt like spilling the truth anyway. She silently waited for him to continue, having no clue where this could go.

"Lightning," Riku breathed, eyes closing as he slowly sat up. Her hand left his chest with the movement, and while he missed it, he didn't think she'd want to touch him after this. "...You were tortured." By those two guys, by Riku... It was all a mess.

  • Author

Lightning blinked in surprise. No wonder Riku was upset; she went through pain last night. That's what caused my memory laps, she realized. Whatever that torture was, it caused her to forget all that happened within that time frame. She slowly sat herself up, looking down at one of the hands that supported her body. There were no physical scars on her body that she noticed...

"...You were taken to the dungeon when Kain and I were...occupied," Riku revealed lowly, opening his eyes to glare at his lap. He wasn't sure what the two men were up to, but Lightning was clearly in the way for some reason. "Two guys tried to kill you. I don't know why, but the Darkness that came from them was the same as the Heartless that attacked the castle a while ago." They were connected, but why?

  • Author

Lightning gritted her teeth in frustration. How could she forget this? If those men were connected to the Heartless attack, then she was probably smart enough to draw their motives out of them and make them confess it all! Yet here they were now, and the men got away, judging by Riku's tone and phrasing. Ugh...

"...What's worse," Riku continued lowly, even though Lightning being threatened was no light case, "they used me to hurt you." A paralysis spell that threatened her life, or Riku's Darkness that caused her pain. As much as Riku hated to admit it, he preferred his Darkness causing harm than Lightning dying.

  • Author

Light lifted her gaze to Riku at that final statement. They used him to hurt her. Now she was beginning to understand exactly why that period of time was blank. If they were using a loved one to inflict pain, they wouldn't just ask him to do physical injury. It would go for the heart of the matter. "...Darkness," she thought aloud, voice soft. Darkness caused her memory lapse.

That one word had Riku on his feet. He lifted his hands to his head and curled his fingers into his hair. "I had no choice," he said, speaking through gritted teeth. Just the memory was agonizing. "It was either that or they killed you. I had to, or else you would've..." Lightning would have died. If Riku didn't do it, he would have killed her with his refusal. He stood still, frozen in place at the realization. It was terrifying.

Lightning rose to her feet to be by Riku. If he was going to run, she was going to catch him. She wasn't going to let him run away from this conversation. "It's okay," she said, placing a hand on his shoulder. "I know that's the only reason you would ever hurt me..." He did it to protect her. She got it.

Riku shook his head, eyes squeezed shut as he lowered his hands. "You don't get it, Light," he told her, then opening his eyes to gaze at her. Mickey's words rang true at this moment: Riku's eyes couldn't lie. "My Darkness hurt you. I hurt you...and I hated it." He never wanted to do that again.

  • Author

"But you did it to save me," Lightning said softly. "Torture is better than dying, and you knew that. You still do..." She knew that he recognized that, even now when he was upset. She just hoped that he could focus on the small glimmer of light in the situation.

Riku looked away from Lightning at the words, not sure how to take them. She was right, of course, but that didn't mean he was content with his actions. Saving Lightning's life was something Riku appreciated out of it all, but the harm he caused her was not. "...I wouldn't touch you after that," Riku explained lowly. "I couldn't." Now she knew why he was keeping his distance while she was receiving treatment.

  • Author

"That's okay," Lightning automatically said. She didn't initially understand why Riku kept his distance, and it did make her sad when he wouldn't come close to her when she was getting treatment, but it made sense now why he wouldn't touch her. It had been a while since she saw him use his Darkness other than the typical uses of battle, but using it on her was different from that.

Riku's aquamarine eyes found the blue he loved, gazing into them for a moment. "...I'm sorry," he apologized quietly. He didn't want to ever have to use his Darkness against her, but if he hadn't, she would have been killed. There was no other choice.
