Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

"It's okay," Light repeated, setting her hand on Riku's cheek. "Really." How could she possibly be upset with him? His actions last night probably saved her life. "I'm just sorry I put you in that position." She should have been stronger. If only she could remember how she was at their mercy in the first place! It was so frustrating to lose such critical information.

Riku closed his eyes briefly when Lightning's hand rested on his cheek, but then he gazed at her at the apology. He nodded slightly, but not enough to move her hand. He forgave her, even though he knew she must have fought her hardest to be out of the enemy's clutches. Nothing worked out in their favor that night, but at least Riku remembered the guys' faces. That was a plus.

Light leaned forward and gave Riku a brief kiss on the lips before wrapping him in an embrace. She wanted to say that the hug was completely for his sake, because he remembered the torture of last night and she didn't. But there was an aspect of this where not having the memory was also a curse. And knowing that his Darkness took her memory...It scared her to the core.

Riku held Lightning close, his arms tight around her smaller figure. He made sure to not touch her last night, but now...he didn't want to let her go. Not only did he miss her because of his past mistakes, but he hated causing her harm. He never wished ill upon her, especially when he was the source. That was terrifying in itself.

Claire set a hand on the back of Riku's head, cradling it. "It's okay," she said again, voice soft and gentle with him. "It's over now." You won't be forced to hurt me again, she wanted to say, though those words never left her lips. She couldn't guarantee such a thing, as sad as that was. Anything was possible in this twisted world.

Riku squeezed Lightning gently at the words. "...I love you," he whispered. He loved her so much, and he never wanted to put her through that kind of pain again. But...if it was life or death like before, he would have to. There was no other way around it.

"I love you too," Lightning responded quietly, giving Riku an extra squeeze. More than anything in all the worlds, she loved Riku. She dipped her head into his shoulder, closing her eyes as she soaked up the warmth and comfort of his embrace.

Riku continued to hold Lightning close in the silence, her declaration ringing in his ears. He wanted to hear those words forever. But...there were still some things they needed to discuss. Like why Riku left, and the showy kiss Lightning shared with Kain to spite Riku. They wouldn't be able to truly move on until that all was covered.

Lightning lifted her head after a few moments, looking to the doorway. The two of them were no longer alone. She slowly began to release Riku as the figure came into the room, his eyes locked on her. This was the first time since the ball last night that she saw Kain, and this was the first time she registered such an expression of relief on his face.

Riku looked at Lightning when she pulled away, but he turned to follow her gaze. Just as she released him, he released her to see Kain in the room. Riku's eyebrows furrowed at the relief on Kain's face. What happened?

Light glanced at Riku one last time before she started towards Kain, meeting him in an open part of the room. "What--?" she tried, though her words were quickly interrupted. Kain's steely arms wrapped around her thin body in a tight embrace, his hands finding the back of her tank-top. She was still in just a plain top and spandex shorts, but he didn't care. He spun her around once and kept her in his arms without any sign of letting go. In the midst of that surprise hug, she had wrapped an arm around him so that she wouldn't go flyin gduring the spin, though there was no real danger of that happening.

Riku blinked at the sudden embrace, confused by it. And with what he caught from Lightning's expression while she was being spun around, she was just as lost as he was. While seeing Kain hold Lightning in such a manner had Riku on edge, he knew that Lightning would never hold Kain the way she just held him. He was special.

When Kain finally withdrew a tad and saw Lightning's confused expression, he explained himself. "You worried me last night," he told her lowly. And then she understood why he was so relieved, though she still seemed surprised by the extremity of his worry. She had to know how much he cared for her though. He cherished her very, very much.

Riku blinked at the words, understanding now. So Kain was worried about Lightning after last night. He should have known she'd be fine; Riku was here, wasn't he? Then again, Riku's track record wasn't so great lately. Maybe Kain had reason to worry after all.

"Are you alright?" Kain asked, keeping one hand on Lightning's lower back while lifting the other to her face. As he briefly swept some of her pink hair out of her eyes, he noticed she was surprised at the affection, but she didn't swat his hand away.

"I'm fine," Lightning said quietly, eyes following Kain's hand as he swept away those few strands of hair. She was extremely conscious of his movements and the hand that remained on her back even after the embrace was over, but she felt frozen. Paralyzed by surprise, almost. She had no clue what to do in this situation, and with Riku watching, it made her even more unsure.

Should I leave you two alone? Riku almost said, but then he bit his tongue, fighting the tension in his body. Why wasn't Lightning telling Kain to back off? Maybe we really do have some things to talk about, he figured in silence. "She can still stand on her own," he said stiffly. Kain didn't have to...cradle her like that.

Kain looked to Riku, having almost forgotten that he was here. He didn't have the patience for him today. "The woman I cherish faced death yesterday," he said lowly, growling at Riku as he began to pull Lightning to his chest again. "The least you can do is allow me to see that she's alive and well." Maybe he was out of line with how he was holding her, but he didn't care at that moment.

"You could have seen that from across the room," Riku said tightly, taking a step forward. "Now let her go." The woman Kain "cherished" was the woman Riku loved. His actions, like pulling her close just now, were going to earn him a fist to the face. Riku was tired of seeing Kain hold Lightning like she was his. She wasn't. She belonged with Riku.

Kain glared at Riku while he held Lightning close. He heard her say his name quietly to protest the continuation of all this, but he again disregarded orders to release her. She nearly died. He held her in his arms last night and thought that she was pushing herself extremely hard. And now she was in his arms again and he felt reassured.

"Kain," Riku hissed, his tone one of warning. I won't tell you again. Let her go. Unless Lightning wanted this, in which case Riku would take off. He didn't want to make Lightning choose, but she wasn't protesting. So what was a guy to think?

Kain glared at Riku one last time before he did release Lightning. He didn't do it because of Riku, but because Lightning had been so tense in his arms. He gazed at her for a few moments, trying to read her eyes only to find more questions than answers. And he thought that she looked tired. "...I think you need more rest," he suggested to her. "You still look tired."

Lightning hadn't looked in a mirror yet that day, so she couldn't agree or disagree with Kain's statement. Either way, she felt okay. "Right. Thanks," she said in return to the advice. She appreciated his concern, even if it created an awkward situation.

Riku crossed his arms as he looked between the two. Yeah, we definitely need to talk, he thought as his eyes pierced Kain from where he stood. What nerve that guy had, holding Lightning in ways only a lover should. In ways that only Riku should.

Kain kept his eyes on Lightning only. "We'll speak later," he said. There was a lot more to discuss than just her well-being. But Kain knew he had to leave now, because Riku was surely going to attack him if he stayed. "Be sure to wear your ring," he reminded her, looking down at her left hand and seeing the fake engagement ring gone. She would need that to uphold their cover later.

Riku lowered his head and looked to the side at the reminder of the ring, something he didn't like to think about. It was a staged engagement, sure, but...he didn't like Lightning wearing a ring given to her by another man. The only ring he wanted her to wear was the one he gave her when he proposed. If he proposed.

Wear the ring... Lightning thought in confusion. What ring? She looked down at the hand Kain had gazed at, realizing it was her left. And if Kain gave her a ring for her left hand... Her eyes shot wide open at the realization, not that Kain could see it now that he was exiting the room. You proposed?! she thought after him. ...And I said yes?!
