Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

The next morning   Riku lingered in the living room as Lightning's guests talked on the sofas. It was the day after Sora and Kairi's wedding, and now that the event was over, everyone was heading ba

Because Riku's gaze was still locked on the dresser in the room, he didn't notice Lightning's confusion. Everything about this situation had Riku wanting to run for the hills, but he wouldn't leave Lightning. Not again. He couldn't do that after last time. Her cries of protest from that day still haunted Riku, even now.

Lightning turned around to Riku once Kain was gone, her eyes still wide and panic somewhat suppressed. "He proposed last night?!" she hissed in confusion. "And I forgot that?! And I said yes?!" That was the only logical explanation she could think of. She wouldn't be wearing a ring if she said no, after all.

Riku's eyebrows furrowed at the words, and he lifted his head to look at the woman he loved. "What? No!" he said with a shake of his head, disgust laced into his tone. "No, the engagement's fake. The ball last night was supposed to be your engagement party." As dumb as Riku thought that was, it worked.

Light's shoulders slumped in relief. "Good," she sighed. "Good. That makes more sense..." If Kain sincerely did propose to her, she would have turned him down. She wasn't the kind of woman who would get back with Riku only to get engaged to Kain. While lowering her gaze to the ground, she lifted a hand to her head. It had begun to hurt again.

Riku lowered his arms and approached Lightning, placing a hand at her elbow. "You should do as he said," he told her softly. Rest would do her good. She had only woken up because Riku gave her breakfast. If she wanted to rest more, Riku wouldn't mind. He had some thinking to do anyway.

Light shook her head slowly, lowering her hand as well. "I'm alright," she said, looking up into his eyes. "My head's just fuzzy." She tried too hard to remember some of the night's occurrences and now she had a headache. And she felt a little lightheaded as well--probably because of the Darkness she came in contact with. But she wasn't going to tell Riku that.

"...Just take a minute to get yourself together," Riku said softly. That was the least Lightning could do to help herself out. He would hang around in the meantime. What else was he going to do anyway? Roaming the castle would be dumb; nobody was supposed to know he was here.

"Take a minute how?" Lightning asked, Riku's phrasing confusing her. Either he was being unclear or her head really was fuzzy enough to affect her thinking. Well, she already knew the latter, but she hoped it wasn't that serious and that it would fade away in a few moments. But her question still stood: was Riku telling her to take a minute to get over what just happened with Kain, or to sit down for a minute?

Riku still had a hold on Lightning's elbow, so he wordlessly led her to the bed. "Sit down," he told her gently, helping her do the action before he took a seat beside her. He wasn't sure what was making her head so clouded, but it probably had to do with his Darkness invading her senses the night before. That connected a lot of things.

Light obeyed Riku, though she would have had the physical strength to tear herself away from him if she wanted to. Was he seeing something that she wasn't? Because other than some confusion in her mind and the emotions swirling in her heart, she felt fine. "I'm okay," she assured Riku again, looking over at him as he sat right beside her. "Seriously."

Riku gazed at Lightning for a moment, but then he took back his hand. He lowered his sight to his hands that were now in his lap, not sure what to say. His mind was still stuck on Kain. Why didn't she tell Kain to back off? Riku didn't understand. Did she...like that Kain was holding her like that?

  • Author

"Maybe spinning around set it off," Lightning said lowly, allowing the implications of that to set in. Riku saw twice already how her mind was affected in the past few minutes: when she seriously thought she was engaged to Kain and when she didn't understand one of Riku's suggestions. It could be possible that this started during the whole thing with Kain and that was why she didn't pull herself away. She was dazed even then.

"Or maybe Kain did," Riku said lowly, lifting his eyes from his lap to the window to his side. Lightning was fine until Kain showed up. Things were perfect, especially between her and Riku. Now...Riku wasn't so sure. He hated doubting his and Lightning's relationship, but with Kain around, it was hard.

Lightning leaned over a bit and placed her head on Riku's shoulder. "The fog will clear in a minute, I'm sure," she said quietly. "I don't know what happened. I couldn't think for a minute there. I completely froze..." She was happy to blame it on the Darkness, because in all seriousness, she normally would have shoved Kain away. Something impaired her judgement.

Riku simply hummed, glancing down at Lightning before his eyes went elsewhere. He wasn't sure how else to respond. Normally, Lightning would have shoved Kain away the second he kept her in his hold. This time, she didn't do anything. Said his name, sure, but that obviously didn't do any good.

  • Author

"Sorry," Lightning apologized, still feeling Riku's tense body under her head. "I have no clue why I didn't shove him away. If I was thinking straight, I would have." Even if his eyes were so extremely genuine and his worry sincere, it wasn't right for him to hold her as if they actually were a couple. He knew that this was a charade; Riku's presence would always remind him of that. I'll need to talk to him later about that...

"And the kiss?" Riku asked without thought. He had always wondered what that kiss was about. He knew the one she gave Kain right in front of Riku was to set him off, and it did. It had Riku devastated. But the one in the garden... Riku knew that was genuine.

  • Author

Lightning opened her eyes, startled. "What kiss?" she asked. She was thinking of this present time and conversation. Kain swung her around and embraced her and brushed her hair, but there was no kiss...that she could remember. Oh my gosh, was I seriously that out of it? What is wrong with me...?

"When I brought Serah," Riku clarified lowly. The kiss he observed through the window or face to face, Lightning could pick whichever one. But Riku always did find himself hating them both the same. One was genuine, the other out of spite. But they both ticked him off.

  • Author

Light brought her head off Riku's shoulder. She couldn't feel close to him when they were talking about such a tense topic. She knew it would come up eventually, but she hoped it would be later rather than sooner. "I was an idiot," she said quietly. "I felt betrayed and angry so...I kissed him. It was a completely stupid stunt with no feelings for Kain behind it." So Riku didn't need to feel threatened by that kiss.

"...Right," Riku said, rising from his seat and running a hand through his hair. He approached the balcony doors. He didn't go outside, but simply looked out them. So Lightning kissed Kain without feeling, but she had every intent of hurting Riku's feelings the entire time. Yeah, it was pretty stupid.

"I'm really sorry for that," Lightning said quietly in shame. She was just really frustrated with Riku then and how he left her there against her will, and then he came back and looked at her with eyes so full of love. It didn't make sense for her to suddenly kiss Kain if she wanted his love back, but in fury, she kissed him anyway.

"I know," Riku said with a small nod, keeping his eyes set on the outside world. "....You did it because you were mad." Lightning kissed Kain out of spite, to infuriate Riku. She did more than infuriate him, though; she caused him devastation and heartache, and a part of him felt sick at the sight of Lightning kissing someone else. Whatever Lightning had in mind, she succeeded.

  • Author

You know I'm sorry and why I did it...But do you forgive me? Light wondered, looking to Riku's back. She rarely liked to see his back when they were in the middle of a conversation; it meant that they wanted to avoid each other's eyes, because neither of their eyes could lie. That was both a blessing and a curse some days.

"...I shouldn't have left you," Riku admitted lowly, lowering his eyes to the balcony door handle. "I should have let you make your own choice." He released a breath and closed his eyes, shaking his head faintly. "I thought I was doing what was best for you, but that was never my decision to make. It was yours." Riku should have let Lightning decide when to leave, or how long to stay. He never should have deserted her.
