Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Lightning couldn't even look at Riku's back now, her body tensing with more than guilt. He was  absolutely right about that. She was still so angry at him for forcing her to stay here and not giving her a choice. She couldn't blame Kain for wanting her to stay; she knew how he felt about her. And Riku did too! Leaving her here with him...it was practically giving them his blessing.

"I'm sorry for controlling you," Riku called, his back still to the woman he loved. "I never wanted to do that, but I thought Kain was the better choice. He had luxury and the safety. He was good." Riku finally turned around, lifting his eyes to Lightning. "...But one week away from you and I couldn't take it anymore. The thought of you being in his arms instead of mine, or living your life with him instead of me... It wasn't working." Riku couldn't stand the thought, even now.

Lightning kept her gaze on her lap, eyes hard. Riku was saying the word "I" too much. And "me". He was sounding so selfish...He couldn't stand the consequences of his actions, so he stormed back into her life because now he wanted her back. It just made her so angry that he left her and had the nerve to come back regretful.

Riku noticed that Lightning wouldn't look up, which had him interested. "What?" he asked lowly. What was wrong now? He knew an apology would never be good enough, but why avoid eye contact? What was that Lightning couldn't share with him? Did he do something else wrong?

Lightning shook her head slightly, starting to calm herself down. She didn't feel completely rational yet. She was too inclined to go to anger--to darkness. "I think..." she began slowly, realizing that Riku wouldn't be happy with her response. "...That I'm unnaturally angry right now and not really in my right mind." The Darkness of last night was still influencing her, only this time, she caught it before she said or did anything stupid, like not shoving Kain away.

Riku caught on quickly as to what Lightning was getting at. The source of the problem. "You mean my Darkn--" Riku stopped himself short, closing his eyes and rubbing the back of his neck. This gave him another reason to hate himself, that was for sure.

"You saved my life, and this is one of the side-effects of that," Light said, briefly looking up at Riku again before she gazed past him to the balcony. "I'm beginning to know how to cope with it--don't worry." She may have been disoriented earlier when Kain suddenly embraced her and her anger may have been teeming now, but since she was understanding what was going on now, she was able to calm herself down.

"You shouldn't have to cope with anything," Riku said lowly. Lightning shouldn't have had to cope with anything in their relationship, or whatever this was these days. She should have been happy. While things could get difficult, nothing should have been as complicated as this.

"You're right--I should have done a better job fighting back," Lightning said lowly, rising to her feet. She set a hand on one of the poles at the end of the bed, using it for support briefly. "Then we wouldn't have fallen into this situation." She was mostly referring to last night when she lost against the men who forced Riku to torture her, though she supposed the words fit for their whole scenario.

Riku wasn't so sure as to what exactly Lightning was referring to. Because of that, he didn't respond with anything except for silence. He didn't know what to do anymore, with much of anything. Ever since he left Lightning to stay, things had been a mess.

Lightning pinched the bridge of her nose, another technique to help herself calm down. "Look," she said, her voice softer and more controlled. "I'm sorry for the showy kiss and you're sorry for leaving me here. Let's just...move on." It was time to move past all these things that were tying them down.

Riku gazed at Lightning for a moment, but then he nodded. "...Okay," he said in agreement. It wouldn't be easy, especially considering how that kiss was engraved into his mind, but he would do as Lightning wanted and move on. It would be for the best.

Light smiled faintly, though that smile vanished as quickly as it appeared. "I love you, Riku," she said from her spot. And that was the honest truth. Perhaps there was a spark of attraction between her and Kain, but Riku was the one that she loved and was willing to devote her life to.

Even though Lightning's smile faded, Riku's appeared. "I love you too, Claire," he told her softly. He couldn't deny his feelings, even in anger. Lightning had his heart, always. She had from the beginning, he guessed. Ever since she appeared on the Islands.

Lightning's smile reappeared at the name that only Riku had permission to use. She approached him and leaned up, giving him a brief kiss on the lips before she simply stood in front of him. I still want to marry you, she thought in silence. That wasn't going to change anytime soon.

A few hours later...

Riku approached the secret passageway entrance that would have him in the bedroom he and Lightning shared. For the past few hours, he had been wandering the dark passages in the castle to try and dig up some information. Unfortunately, he had nothing to report. Things were still quiet, even after the ball. The two brothers hadn't made themselves present just yet, at least to him. Riku pushed the fake wardrobe open and stepped into the light, squinting a little as he put the furniture back in place. Maybe Lightning or Kain had better luck.

Lightning sat on the edge of the bed, facing away from the wardrobe. She heard Riku reenter the room, but she didn't bother turning around. She didn't think that she'd want to see his face when she told him this. Whenever Kain spoke to her about their plan, he normally dropped a bombshell on her, whether it was from the state of their relationship to an engagement and now...this. It wasn't good, what she was going to share with Riku.

Riku turned back around and saw Lightning sitting on the bed, not that he wouldn't have noticed her; the smell of roses gave her away. But...surely she heard him come in, so why didn't she say hello? "Hey," he called softly, starting towards the bed. She seemed a little...stiff, from what Riku could see.

"Hey," Light responded quietly, keeping her gaze to her feet--or at least in their direction. She couldn't see them underneath the fabric of her dark green dress. Even after all this time, she wasn't comfortable wearing dresses yet. But tonight, she would be pushed completely out of her comfort zone with Kain's new plan.

Riku's footsteps slowed, his curiosity affecting his actions. He stopped, the bed separating him and Lightning as he looked at the back of her pink head. "...You okay?" he asked softly. What was wrong? Something, clearly. But what exactly was the problem now?

Lightning nodded slightly, though she was obviously lying. "I brought you some dinner," she said quietly, motioning to the table that was several feet in front of her. "You should eat." Because you're going to lose your appetite when you hear what I have to say. She hadn't eaten since Kain broke the news, that's how disturbed she was.

Riku lifted an eyebrow slightly at the words, his eyes darting to the table. But he wandered over to it nonetheless. He guessed he did miss dinner; he couldn't go down to the dining hall, after all. He had dinner brought up to him ever since they'd been here, but why did Lightning bring it this time? Usually a servant did it.

Light lifted her eyes when Riku appeared in her line of vision, her hands clenching in her lap. She didn't know what else to say, or if it was even right to tell Riku to eat when she refused to do so herself. This situation was just too twisted nowadays, but after her personal encounter with the villains, she was too invested in this case to leave without solving it.

Riku looked over at Lightning when he felt her gaze on him, and his eyebrows furrowed at her expression. The eye contact alone gave her away; her eyes couldn't lie to him. "...What's wrong?" he asked again, his voice more sure. He wasn't going to take "fine" for an answer. She had to tell him the truth. It had to be bad, since she looked like she was about to be sick.

Lightning lowered her gaze to her lap again. "You should eat," she repeated quietly. Trust me--you won't be hungry after you hear what I have to say. But knowing Riku, he would be stubborn to sit down and eat when he knew that something was wrong. He couldn't ignore problems when they were right in front of him.
