Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

The next morning   Riku lingered in the living room as Lightning's guests talked on the sofas. It was the day after Sora and Kairi's wedding, and now that the event was over, everyone was heading ba

Riku tilted his head slightly, looking at Lightning in silence. He stepped over to be in front of Lightning and squatted down, placing one of his hands over hers in silence. He gazed at that for a moment, his thumb running over her skin before he lifted his eyes to look at her face. She looked...pale. "...Light," Riku said lowly. She had to tell him what was wrong; food was the last thing on his mind now.

Light shut her eyes briefly, having foresaw this happening. Riku was predictable in this sense: he cared more about her than food (and that was saying something.) When she opened her eyes, she looked at his hand on hers. "...Kain's heard rumors lately of a few people doubting our relationship," she said lowly. "And he has a way to help keep the facade, but..."

Riku leaned a little closer, eyes alert. "But...?" he prodded softly. Don't say you have to get married, he internally begged. He couldn't bear to have Lightning marry Kain. Her being engaged was bad enough. Lightning was only supposed to be engaged to Riku. That was obviously a bust, even if the engagement to Kain was fake.

Lightning refused to look at Riku's eyes, even now. "...He wants me to start sleeping in his bedroom. In his bed." With or without him in the bed, I don't know. He hadn't specified, and she was going to tell him to sleep on the floor unless he had a good reason. This was crossing way too many lines.

Riku froze, his eyes sharpening at the words. Kain would be so bold as to have Lightning stay in his room with him? Sleep in his bed? Riku took back his hand and clenched both into fists. No, no, this was not going to fly by him. Riku was going to protest. If he made himself present in the process, then so be it.

Light didn't know what to do, so she reached out and set her hands on Riku's shoulders. She hated to say it, but he couldn't go and confront Kain immediately, because he would make his presence known in the castle. Very few knew that he was here, and even those that knew didn't know that Riku was Lightning's true love. If he ran out now, everything they worked for would be a waste.

Riku closed his eyes at Lightning's touch. Her words weren't needed; he could tell what she wanted from him, and that was for him to not go and punch Kain in the face. What was this guy thinking? He had the nerve to push things this far? Were there no boundaries? No respect for Lightning and Riku's relationship?

"I'm sorry," Lightning said quietly. She was sorry that things were going this far, and sorry Riku had to see it all unfold. She was sorry that she got into trouble last night and sorry that she couldn't remember anything the villains told her. This was mostly her fault that they were in this situation.

"...You told him no, right?" Riku asked, speaking tightly. He opened his eyes to look up at the woman he loved, the woman who would share his bed, not Kain's. He was going to have to face Riku's wrath with this one, not that it was any different than the other conflicts that involved Lightning. Kain still hadn't learned?

"...I said I wouldn't sleep in the same bed as him," Light managed after a minute. She withdrew one of her hands, though her eyes were pleading for Riku to understand. "I didn't have much of a choice, Riku. He said that if we blew our act at this point of the game, everything until now was pointless." She didn't want Riku to have walked through those dark passageways for nothing.

Riku looked up at Lightning, but upon seeing the expression in her eyes, he turned his head away. His form was still tense, not that it shouldn't have been. Kain was crossing a fine line here. This wasn't to be taken lightly.

Lightning hesitantly moved her hand to the top of Riku's head. "I'll work harder," she promised. "I'll get myself out of this situation as quickly as possible. Tonight will be the only night." She would make sure of it. She didn't know how to work harder when she was already devoting everything to the case, but she would find a way to solve it more quickly anyway.

Riku wasn't sure how to respond to that. He honestly didn't think tonight being the only night was possible. "...If he tries anything," he said, looking back to the woman he loved, "anything...you let me know. Okay?" If Kain did anything more out of line than right now, he was in for a world of pain.

Lightning met his eyes and held them. "I promise," she said. Though of course, she wasn't going to let Kain get away with anything over the line again like he did that morning. The Darkness clouded her judgement then, but she wouldn't let it happen again. Though she didn't know how to help it, she assured herself that she wouldn't let it occur anyway, just to reassure herself.

Riku lifted one of his hands at the oath, placing it against Lightning's cheek. He watched his thumb roam over her skin before his eyes locked onto hers. "...I love you," he told her softly. He'd said it a lot lately, but it would never be enough. Sometimes, though, he found himself saying it to remind her that he loved her. Whenever Kain was around, Riku feared she would forget.

"I love you too," Light responded softly, shutting her eyes and savoring Riku's hand on her cheek. This was probably going to be the last time in a while that she felt his intimate touch. Soon she would have to return to the main parts of the castle to keep up appearances. And then she would go to Kain's bedroom with him and spend the night in his bed. If Kain was doing this to make a pass on her, it wasn't his wisest plan. When she was in that bed, the only person she'd think of was Riku.

Lightning's declaration of love echoed in Riku's mind, even that night. He walked a secret passageway, the path truly dark because it was so late. Everyone was settling in for bed, including Lightning and Kain. Just the reality of this situation had Riku's stomach turning in disgust. You've got a lot of nerve, Kain, doing this to us. He was severing Riku and Lightning's bond, and had been from the beginning. Well, Riku was going to make sure Kain didn't do anything reckless, which was why he stopped just outside Kain's room, lingering in the passageway. There was a small area that he could see into, and he would be sure to utilize it.

Lightning was dressed in pajamas, though they weren't her normal clothes for sleeping in. She covered herself more than usual by wearing sweatpants instead of spandex shorts, and she pulled at her camisole to make sure everything was covered. She knew Kain wasn't getting any ideas; he was standing several feet away from the bed, watching her and making her feel awkward. Kain wasn't a pervert and he wasn't trying to make her uncomfortable; she recognized that. He still was a friend, after all.

"You should rest," Kain said, seeing Lightning sitting tensely on the side of the bed. "You don't need to fear me. I'll be sleeping over here." There was a sofa in the room, and he already moved a pillow and a blanket onto it for himself. Even if he normally slept without a shirt on, he kept one on for Lightning's sake, though he wondered if she truly was tempted by his presence. Some moments, he believed she returned his affection.

Good, Riku thought of Kain's makeshift bed. Then there wouldn't be so much of a problem, or so he told himself. Just Kain sleeping in the same room as Lightning drove Riku nuts, but he would still linger here for a couple hours, just to make sure. He wanted Lightning to be able to sleep peacefully before he took off for his own room.

Lightning followed Kain's advice slowly, and he followed it too after he turned off the lights. "Goodnight, Kain," she said as she laid herself down. After hearing a goodnight in response from the man who was getting settled on the couch, she looked up at the ceiling from her spot on her back. "Goodnight, Riku," she mumbled under her breath.

Riku gazed at Lightning for a moment, his sharp eyes catching onto her mouth moving, but he didn't know what she said. Regardless, he stepped back and leaned against the cold wall. He would wait a little while before he left just yet. Just until Lightning was asleep...and Kain too.

It took Lightning a while to fall asleep for obvious reasons. For a little while, she faked it. She laid extremely still and waited to see if Kain would climb into bed with her. He didn't. And finally, in the midst of her faking, her exhaustion kicked in and she fell asleep. Kain remained awake though, listening. And when he heard somebody coming towards the room, he quietly climbed into the bed and laid behind Lightning. If somebody looked in and saw the separate beds, they would have figured out quickly enough that this was just a charade.

Riku heard movement, not only in the hallways but in the bedroom as well. He pushed himself from the wall and took a look into a very small hole to see the room. That was when he spotted Kain in the bed with Lightning, laying behind her. Riku's blood began to boil, his body turning rigid. Kain couldn't be serious!

Kain's suspicion proved right when he heard the door crack open. He made himself as relaxed as possible, though he wondered who was opening the door to see them. He kept a hand in front of him, ready to summon his Keyblade if the person came further into the room and proved to be a threat. But after a few seconds, they shut the door and continued on their way, allowing him to give a sigh of relief.

Riku heard the retreating footsteps and found himself relaxing. His heart told him that this was all a ruse. Kain was in bed with Lightning because of the person coming to check up on them, wasn't he? That was the only reason, Riku hoped. Kain had to hope for that as well, or he would be in for a world of hurt.
