Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Kain waited another few minutes just to be safe, though he doubted anyone would return. Just as he decided it was safe to get out of the bed, he heard the footsteps returning--two pairs. He turned back into the bed and put a hand on Lightning's sleeping shoulder as the door opened again. With his trained ears, he heard two servants whispering to each other, one saying "See, I told you their relationship was genuine." What are we, some zoo animals for you to monitor? Be gone!

Riku fought the urge to roll his eyes. Would you go away so he can get up?! he wanted to holler, but that would give away his position. Only a few loyal servants knew he was in the castle, but if others were to discover him (spying on the "couple" no less), they would be in hot water. It would be an ugly confrontation, just as Kain would have if he didn't get out of that bed soon.

Kain heard them say that they wanted another servant to see this and get his call on things. Well now he knew he couldn't get out of the bed anytime soon. He sighed and wrapped an arm around Lightning's upper torso, resting his eyes. He hoped that the third disturbance would be the last; he was exhausted as well. Even now, he felt himself drifting towards sleep.

The servants are gone. What're you doing? Riku wanted to hiss. Kain was intentionally and genuinely holding Lightning now, which was far too intimate for Riku's comfort. He fought the urge to march into the room, grinding his teeth together as he waited for the servants to return. Once they were gone, if Kain kept this up beyond an act, Riku would make sure he couldn't use that arm from now on. This was too far.

It was another ten minutes at least before the servants returned with a third spectator. Though they looked in and watched for a moment, they were then chased away by a guard on duty, ordering them to stay away from Kain and his lady. Kain heard the guard's orders and was grateful. Now he felt the security he needed to finally fall asleep. He released Lightning but didn't get out of the bed, rolling over so his back was to her. It was a breach in the promise he made, but he wanted to be ready in case anybody returned.

Riku saw Kain make no move to get out of bed, and though he wasn't snuggled up beside Lightning anymore, he had crossed a line. Riku approached the secret entrance to the bedroom, a bookcase he would have to push aside. Instead of doing that, however, his anger fueled his actions, and he shoved it forward, knocking it down. The books tumbled to the ground and a large thump resounded throughout the room because of the bookcase hitting the floor, but Riku's ears were deaf to any of the noise. He marched over to the bed and grabbed Kain by the arm, forcing him to the ground. "What do you think you're doing?!" he hissed, not at all worried about the guards or servants. They were long gone.

Lightning jumped out of her skin (and out of her dreams) at all the noise, reaching beneath her pillow for the knife she placed there earlier that night. She rolled onto her knees and looked at the perpetrator, surprised to see Riku in the room and Kain on the floor. She didn't register his words, too surprised that he was here. "Riku! What--?"

While Lightning had her rude awakening, Kain pushed himself up off the floor and glared down at Riku. "I was protecting our cover," he growled. "Somebody could have looked in again at any point!" He assumed that Riku had been watching the whole time, since he was choosing to barge in now after the servants were gone.

"You weren't making any point to get out of bed after they left," Riku spat, fists tight at his sides as he stepped up to be in front of Kain. The man was only slightly taller than Riku, not that the height difference had Riku feeling afraid. He stood up to plenty worse than Kain.

"Because," Kain said lowly, "I feared they would return. Never mind that; what are you doing here? Do you not trust Lightning?" Did Riku watch because he feared that Lightning would fall in love with Kain overnight? As much as he wished it would occur, he knew Lightning's heart was loyal. Her affections were not easily swayed. He knew that, but did Riku?

"I trust her just fine," Riku said, aqua eyes hard as he glared at the man before him. "It's you I'm worried about." As he should have been, given what just occurred. Clearly Kain wasn't good enough to keep his word, even if it was for cover. He could have gotten out of bed once the servants left, but he decided to get more comfortable. That obviously wasn't a good idea.

Lightning looked between Kain and Riku, hearing Kain bicker back that Lightning trusted him, so Riku also should. But she focused on the mess Riku made instead. Somebody was sure to hear all that noise of the crashing, and if they came and saw all the books on the floor-- She set her knife on the end-table and hurried over to the bookshelf, starting to get organized again. If the guys weren't going to be logical, she would, though she didn't really know what was going on.

"The only reason she trusts you is because you put on a front," Riku spat, not seeing Lightning start organizing. "She didn't see you cuddle up to her just now, even when your audience left!" Kain was caught red-handed. Why couldn't he just admit to it?

Little did Lightning know that the villains, Stefan and Caleb, were utilizing one technique they learned before: they learned to go for the jugular when Kain and Riku were fighting, because both of them got so focused on arguing with each other that they didn't pay attention to their other senses. Lightning had a hard time paying attention to anything but their screaming match, but when the walls began to turn black and purple with flames of Darkness, she figured it out quickly enough. "Riku! Kain!" she hollered, leaving the books on the floor as she bolted to her feet. They were being ambushed!

Riku whirled around, eyes hard with a glare he had previously fixed on Kain. But now his gaze rested on Lightning, and then the room. The walls and floor were being engulfed in Darkness. So much Darkness at that moment that Riku's nose burned from the stench. He grunted and hurried to Lightning's side upon seeing it near her feet, not taking a chance in the Darkness swallowing her up again as he held her bridal style, grasp tight. What was going on?

Lightning grasped the fabric of Riku's shirt tightly by his shoulder, surprised both by his actions and by the Darkness that overtook the room. Everything was covered in black and purple flames now. Even the door, which burst open when two strangers were thrown into the room, hands bound tightly behind their backs. As soon as Kain cried the names "Rosa" and "Cecil", she knew who they were. They were his absolute best friends. And the men who followed them in were recognizable to her even with her memories gone. They were the men who used Riku's Darkness to torture her.

Riku took a step back when the two strangers were thrown in, and if he remembered correctly from his lurking, they were the King and Queen of the castle. His aquamarine eyes darted to the pair that followed them in, his teeth snapping together. "You again?!" he cried in alarm, and outrage. These punks had him using his Darkness against Lightning!

"Good to see you as well, Keyblade Master," Stefan said, mocking Riku with a bow. "Don't mind us. We just brought a few...presents." The King and Queen. How easy it had been to capture them! "There was little effort in restraining them. This Royal Guard should really work harder at protecting its dear Majesties."

Kain summoned his lance-like Keyblade, pointing it at the villains even as they stood several yards away. "Let them go," he growled deeply. Those two were his very best friends. They were connected in a similar fashion of Riku to Sora and Kairi. Kain once loved Rosa, but Rosa loved and married Cecil. His romantic feelings for Rosa faded over time, but he still loved her as a sister. And right now, he was watching his sister cringe in pain to the Darkness she was so vulnerable to, aware in his mind that Lightning was doing the same in Riku's arms on the other side of the room.

"Or what?" Stefan challenged, stepping toward the Queen. He took one hand and had his palm face down near her. "One wrong move, and I crush her heart. Is that what you want?" To emphasize his point, he curled his fingers, focusing on Rosa's heart. She cried out weakly in pain as he put strain on her heart of Light, something vulnerable to the surrounding Darkness.

"You leave her alone!" Kain boomed. When Caleb started to walk towards him, he pointed his weapon at him. But Caleb walked past him, towards the other couple. His eyes widened in fear when he saw Lightning cringe at the man, her eyes showing faint familiarity.

"I heard you lost your memory," Caleb smirked at Lightning, not at all intimidated by the fact that she was in somebody's arms. "That certainly worked to our disadvantage. Here we wanted you to be a messenger..." They wanted to send her away crippled and injured by Darkness after torture as a message to Kain: Marry our sister, for our next treatment of your lover will leave her dead.

Riku backed up, bringing Lightning closer to his chest. "So what do you plan to do now?" he demanded, staying away from the walls in fear of the Darkness grasping at Lightning's body. He instead held her to him, his question hanging in the air. What did these two want now that their message was never delivered? Whatever it was.

"The Keyblader speaks," Caleb mused, stopping a few feet away and clenching a fist. He did the technique his brother utilized on Rosa, squeezing Lightning's heart with Darkness. But with her, he only elicited a faint grunt.

"What do you want!" Kain cried again, looking between both Rosa and Lightning. Both of them wore expressions of pain, while the men who loved them were both angry and incredibly worried for their safety. Both were worried about only one woman, while Kain was worried for both. This torture was aimed at him most of all.

"Mr. Highwind," Stefan formally greeted, his grasp on Rosa's heart still strong. "We have a request for you. And by request, we mean demand. You have been in an arranged marriage with our sister Evelyn since she was born." He then looked to the woman in the Keyblade Master's arms. "But this...pathetic excuse for a Lady appears and you are to be wed. You see, that will simply not do."

Riku had his eyes locked on Lightning throughout the speech, wishing to take away the pain. But he could do nothing to help. "So...this is vengeance for your sister?" he asked, temper flaring. That was what this was about? An arranged marriage?

"That arrangement was abolished years ago!" Kain snarled in both surprise and fury. He could not believe that they were arguing over this. Stefan and Caleb were devoted to their sister, and to her becoming the wife of somebody high on the social rank. This was all so petty! So futile! He was never going to marry Evelyn.

"Illegally abolished," Caleb said. "The law still says you are to be wed. Now, since I know the law means nothing to you, I will make this quite clear: Law or no law, you will marry my sister, or the women you love will perish at our Darkness." He strengthened his hold on Lightning's heart, causing her to curl up a bit in Riku's arms. "Your decision."

"Choose wisely," Stefan added with a smirk, putting more pressure against the poor Queen's precious heart. Rosa whimpered at the pain, not that the brothers cared. However, Kain certainly did. But what would he choose? The deaths of two people who were special to him, or an arrangement made years ago that promised their sister a life of luxury?

"This is ridiculous," Riku growled lowly, mostly speaking to himself. He couldn't do a thing to help Lightning or the Queen, so this was all on Kain. What would he do? Did he seriously have to consider this?

"I will not marry your sister," Kain growled. That was his final decision. Arranged marriages were ridiculous! He didn't plan on marrying anyone who didn't have his heart. A situation where there wasn't love would have been torturous for both him and his wife.

"Who should we kill first, then?" Caleb said to Kain. "Your best friend?" He looked to Cecil. "Your former love?" He looked at Rosa. "Or..." He made up his mind, looking back at the one woman he hadn't mentioned. "Your current love?" He squeezed his fist completely, eliciting a sharp scream from Lightning.
