Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

The next morning   Riku lingered in the living room as Lightning's guests talked on the sofas. It was the day after Sora and Kairi's wedding, and now that the event was over, everyone was heading ba

"No," Lightning said quietly, letting her eyes shut a bit as she placed her face against Riku's shoulder. "I'm okay." Her head may have ached a little bit because of the guy who yanked her hair, but other than that, she wasn't in any physical pain. She was just frustrated with those guys. More than that, though, she was frustrated with herself.

Riku could tell that simple questions like that weren't going to get him anywhere. He retreated a little, his hands moving to Lightning's waist. "...Talk to me," he requested lowly, speaking over the gentle waves. He wanted inside her head. What was wrong, other than the obvious?

Light looked at Riku's chest, unable to meet his eyes. He knew that something was up, but she still felt like she disappointed him back there. And she felt like she would disappoint him if she asked the question that was on her mind. She lifted a hand to his chest, fixing the sash that ran across it. "I'm okay, Prince Charming," she said quietly.

Riku's eyebrows furrowed, despite the nickname. He shook his head, squeezing Lightning's waist. "No," he said softly. "Don't do that. Tell me." She was trying to brush him off, but he knew better. He knew something was wrong, something other than what just happened. But what?

Light's hand dropped down to her side. She had known Riku wouldn't drop the subject, so why did she even bother trying? She slowly lifted her gaze to his eyes, hers showing self-consciousness and vulnerability. She couldn't recognize how connected their hearts were at that moment. The magic of the paopu fruit was powerful enough to convey her thoughts without her permission and send them to Riku's heart. "Do you think I'm a freak?"

Riku experienced the strangest sensation. His heart grew warm, but he also heard Lightning's voice. Her mouth didn't move, so...what then? His heart answered for him, telling him the truth: it was her inner voice. Her heart. Riku lifted a hand to his heart then, eyes widening slightly in surprise. Since when was this possible? And why did Lightning think that way? "...No," he said then. "Why would you ask me that?" Even if she didn't do it aloud, she asked him all the same. And Riku was offended.

Lightning's eyes widened briefly in confusion. "Ask you what?" she asked then. She hadn't even said anything to him. Yeah, she thought the question, but she knew for a fact that Riku wasn't a mind-reader. But she really was confused about what he was referring to.

Riku gave Lightning a look, both offended and confused. "You just asked me..." he said, trailing off. He released her, taking a small step back as he tried to think this over. No way...he thought silently. Sora and Kairi always did this, didn't they? He didn't miss the looks they shared, and the way they seemed to have a conversation with just their eyes. But it wasn't that at all. They communicated with their hearts...and that was just what Riku and Lightning did, even if she didn't realize it.

"I didn't say anything," Lightning said slowly, just as confused as Riku was. Actually, she was more confused, because she knew absolutely nothing about communicating through her heart. At least Riku had a hunch of what happened because of his relationship with Sora and Kairi.

Riku found himself not hearing Lightning, lost on his own thoughts. "...Whoa," he breathed, alarmed. He heard Lightning's inner voice, even if she didn't realize it. He felt her talking to him. Her heart touched his in a new way.... It was bizarre, but overwhelming all the same. Riku found himself at a loss for words.

Lightning's confused eyes showed a new emotion now: worry. She stepped forward, placing a hand on Riku's forehead. "Did you get hit on the head...?" she questioned, looking him over for wounds. She didn't see anything on him at all, let alone on his head. So why was he acting so weird?

"N-no, no," Riku said after a second, grabbing Lightning's hand. Her fingers were cool against his forehead, and however good it felt, he needed her to experience this along with him. "Lightning, look at me," he said, his eyes finding hers. "You need to pay attention, okay?" He had to show her something...what he was experiencing.

Light's eyes remained both confused and worried as she kept her lips tightly sealed. She did pay attention to Riku and his eyes, but probably not in the way he wanted her to. Riku was acting so bizarre that she didn't believe him when he said he wasn't hit on the head. Something must have triggered this odd behavior, and she didn't think that it was a good thing, despite how Riku seemed almost...happy.

"Look at me...and listen," Riku said softly, pleading for Lightning to believe him. He wasn't making this up. He couldn't be. It was too extraordinary and brilliant for him to come up with himself. Instead of saying so, he let the waves fill the silence for a moment, and then he focused on communicating with her through his heart. "...Do you feel this? ...Can you hear me?"

Lightning kept her eyes on Riku, letting them dance over his whole face. He looked sincerely desperate for her to listen to him, but he wasn't saying anything. "Riku, you're scaring me," she said quietly. She was waiting for him to speak, but he was just staring into her eyes. However, his stare had never been as intense as it was at that moment.

Riku shook his head, his hand holding Lightning's still. He moved it to rest over his heart. "Just...just focus here, okay?" he asked softly. She needed to focus on his heart, and her heart as well. "I'm not making this up, I swear..." He couldn't be.

"Not making what up?" Lightning asked, hopelessly confused and also concerned. She kept her hand on Riku's chest because that's where he held it, but she started lifting her other hand towards him. "Maybe you should...sit down..." She didn't know what else to say, but Riku was really worrying her here.

"Claire..." Riku pleaded. He wasn't crazy! He couldn't make something like this up! He lowered his eyes from hers, instead closing them as he grasped her hand and held it to his beating heart. His thoughts were formed into a voice without his notice, just like Lightning's did the first time. "I'm not making this up... Why can't she just feel it like I did?"

Lightning sharply gasped, lowering her gaze to the hand that rested on Riku's heart when her own skipped a beat. She just heard words, not in her head and not in her ears. These were words that she wasn't meant to here at all, but somehow, she did hear them. What just happened?

Riku was too lost in his own thoughts to hear the gasp, instead releasing Lightning's hand and sighing. "Forget it," he said softly, rubbing the back of his head. It obviously wasn't that great if it was only one way. Lightning couldn't hear him like he could her. Her inner voice reached him, but his wouldn't reach hers.

Lightning clenched the fabric of Riku's shirt. "No," she said, her confused eyes darting up from her hand to his face. "What did you just say to me? How did you say it to me? I just heard..." No, maybe I didn't hear it. But I must have felt something. I couldn't possibly be making something up like this.

Riku looked up at Lightning, his aquamarine eyes wide in surprise and soft with sincerity. "...You heard that?" he asked softly. She felt him speak to her? It was so weird....but he loved the feeling all the same. He and Lightning were communicating through their hearts, a connection stronger than he ever knew.

"What did I hear?" Lightning asked, slightly alarmed but mostly confused as she locked onto Riku's eyes. "You didn't say a single word." Even if she did hear it aloud, it still wouldn't have made any sense to her because it was just Riku repeating that he wasn't making something up and that he wasn't crazy.

Riku kept his eyes locked on Lightning's, not saying a thing physically, but through his heart... "It's our hearts. They're connected, Light," he revealed to her, hesitant and scared at the same time. This was so freaky...but it gave him comfort all the same.

Lightning loosened her hold on Riku's shirt when the words came, but she tightened it again when the words registered. "Hearts don't talk," she whispered, shaking her head. She heard the words but she didn't believe them, even if she just felt it happen. Hearts couldn't talk to each other. She knew it for a fact and because she knew it, her heart was closing itself off again.
