Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Claire smiled, leaning up and giving Riku a peck on the lips. She regretted her next move, but she knew that it was time to return to the festival. She gently grabbed Riku's hands on her waist and walked backwards, leading him back to the festival once more.

Riku appreciated the kiss, since he was no longer pouting. How could he be upset with something like that? Especially from Lightning? It was simple: he couldn't, ever. He willingly walked back with her, smiling at her despite his new task. He would come up with something eventually.

The next day

Lightning opened the oven and eyed one of the many products of a day's hard work. Today wasn't just any old day; this was Riku's birthday--his twenty-first birthday. He thought she wasn't able to be around because of a crisis back home; she had Serah call this morning and tell him that she was suddenly called into the Corps for her sudden resignation a few weeks ago. But the truth was that Lightning wasn't in trouble; she was in Riku's house, trying her hardest to prepare a good meal. It was hard considering her sometimes sub-par cooking skills, but she spent all day cooking and baking. Considering that was about eight hours of time and it was now six o'clock, she figured that she should have at least one good dish among all of them. Now she just needed to wait for Riku to return to his home.

Riku lightly elbowed Sora in the side, hearing Kairi giggle on his other side. It was great to spend the day with his best friends, even if Lightning was busy today of all days. It was his twenty-first birthday, a monumental day for most. But this was Riku, and while he didn't mind being twenty-one, he wasn't too big on the alcohol; he had more pressing matters to deal with. Besides that, he'd had a great day. Sora and Kairi took him to Disney Town for the day, where he and Sora raced their gliders and they created their own ice cream. They also rode a few rides to top the day off. It was fun.

"I never knew Disney Town was such a great place to spend a birthday," Sora was saying, rubbing his side where Riku elbowed him. "You have to agree, even if you did lose most of the races." It was about time Sora won some races; when he and Riku competed as kids in foot races, it was always Riku who won.

"You win on a machine," Riku said, smirking as he put his hands in his front pockets. "I win on endurance." That was better than losing in a glider race, but he did have to admit it was fun. He knew that all of them had to go back to Disney Town and do that again some day. He was sure the others would enjoy it.

"So the score's even," Sora grinned in appreciation. He could cope with that. It was better than lagging behind like he used to. Besides, as fun as today was, it wasn't just a day to go to Disney Town. It was a day to keep Riku distracted from Lightning, since she couldn't spend the day with him for some reasons.

"For once," Kairi chimed with a small smirk. The look was devious, but she expected Riku's light bump into her for the jab. Sora and Riku were never even on anything. When they were, one of them took it as a hit to his ego, and that was usually Riku. Hence the bump. She laughed softly and hooked her arm with her brother's, looking up at his taller height. "Oh, come on. You had fun, winning or losing."

"Right," Riku said with a small nod and a faint smile. He did have fun. "I owe you guys." He would have to make this up to them somehow. He knew it was his birthday, but still... Even if Mickey got them in the park for free, Riku knew Sora and Kairi were on a budget these days.

Sora waved a hand. "Yeah right. You know these things don't work like that." It was a birthday gift; Riku wasn't supposed to pay them back or anything like that. This was a gift--the least they could do for their best friend and big brother figure on one of the biggest birthdays of his life.

Riku smiled faintly, nodding in acceptance. He didn't notice until now that they were near his condo. How did that happen? The only thing he remembered when they arrived was just...walking, no destination in mind. It wasn't like Riku had anything else to do. Lightning wasn't here...

Sora noticed Riku's more solemn expression in a few moments. He smirked and bumped his friend's arm, giving him some words of advice. "Don't look so glum," he advised. "She'd be here if she could. And besides, now we have all night to play the new game." He gave it to Riku earlier, before they left for Disney Town.

Kairi sighed. "Yet another competition for you two," she said, shaking her head slightly. She would have to wait for them to quit before they could truly do something. Sitting around and watching them play a game was amusing when they would banter, but she could only handle so much.

Sora ignored Kairi, focusing on his silent best friend instead. "C'mon, buddy," he said as they stopped in front of the door. "Let's order some pizza and play the night away." Of course he couldn't take Riku out for drinks; Sora was younger, and underage drinking was out of the question for him.

Riku heard Kairi's exasperated breath, and he couldn't help but smile. He was up for some video games, he guessed. It wasn't like he was going to go out and drink tonight. If he was to stay home for the night, especially after such an exciting day, he would prefer the company of his best friends. "Sounds good," he said with a faint nod, unlocking the door to his condo and stepping inside. But...that was when he smelled food. Riku could have sworn that he didn't leave anything out. If he did, it would have burned the place down. He couldn't cook anything for eight hours and not suffer the consequences.

Sora grinned at his friend's expression, setting a hand on Riku's shoulder as he pushed him further inside. "On second thought..." he began. "Maybe you should head to the dining room. Smells like somebody already took care of dinner." Riku would figure it out soon enough who was responsible for this, whether it was before he stepped into that room or not.

Riku turned his head to look over at his friends, only to see Sora's grin and a twinkle in Kairi's eye as she clasped her hands behind her back. Both expressions and the pose meant something was up. He faced forward again, doing as Sora said and heading toward the dining room. What were they keeping from him? Was...Lightning here?

Light waited in the dining room, standing by a table that was set for two. All the food was out, drinks were poured, and all the silverware was in the right place. Dessert was chilling in the fridge and freezer, since there were different parts of it. She leaned a hand on one of the chairs and stared at the doorway as she stood casually in a pair of dark blue jeans and a teal blouse. For the first time in a long time, she had all her hair except her bangs pulled back in a bun. Initially the hair had been pulled back to stay off her neck in the hot kitchen, but she ended up keeping it this way just because she forgot about it.

Unaware that Sora and Kairi already stepped out, Riku turned a corner and stopped in the doorway to the dining room. His eyes widened as they darted around the area, seeing the set table and the food. But most importantly, the woman who stood waiting for him. "...Light," he said, a smile forming. She was here?

Light rolled her eyes, smirking as she set a hand on her waist. "What, is it that hard to believe that I cooked all this?" she teased, making fun of Riku's stunned expression. She knew she wasn't that great of a cook, but today she made sure to take her time and do everything properly. She just hoped that the effort showed in the flavor of everything.

"Hmph," Riku hummed with the same smile. He approached the woman he loved and wrapped her in his arms, glad that she was here. He had become quite the sap lately, but regardless of that, he wanted her by his side on his big day. Riku never really celebrated birthdays, but he was flattered that Lightning did all this for him. It was a nice gesture. But he could have gone without the lying, even if it was for the best. He had truly been upset when she said she had to go back to Cocoon.

Light wrapped her arms around Riku's shoulders, pulling herself up so that she could whisper in his ear. "Happy birthday," she said quietly before giving him a kiss on the neck. She had missed him today and regretted that she couldn't spend all day with him, but in her mind, she decided that making a huge meal for him and sharing a romantic dinner was more important. Besides, she was sure he had a great day with Sora and Kairi.

Riku squeezed Lightning at the words. "Thank you," he whispered. He appreciated this, he really did. Sora and Kairi always tried to go all out for his birthdays in the past, but that was expected; they were his best friends. But Lightning...she really didn't have to do this. It was flattering that she put in this much effort.

Light smiled at Riku's tone, giving him a gentle squeeze before she pulled back. She may not have been in a dress and her bun may have been a little messy, but she did put on a little bit of make-up for Riku's birthday. "I bet you're hungry," she commented, resting her hands on his shoulders for a few moments.

Riku's eyes left Lightning's face to find the food set on the table. "Yeah," he said with a faint laugh. He was always hungry, even after the ice cream he had just a little bit ago in Disney Town. He was still growing, even at twenty-one. He needed the fuel.

"Then I better let you get to it." Light stepped over to the side, pulling back a chair for Riku to sit in. She purposely stood behind it and motioned to it for him to sit down so that he understood. Normally it was the gentleman's job to pull the chair out for the lady, but tonight, she was spoiling him, and as long as she had a say in it, it wouldn't work the other way around.
