Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Light got butterflies once more from Riku's wink, not that the butterflies went away in the first place. She knew that he was teasing her about the food, but still... "Serious answer?" she requested quietly, keeping her eyes locked on him. And she hoped that he didn't lie to protect her feelings; she'd find out herself how the food was after she got some on her plate and tasted it.

Riku went ahead and cut into the grilled chicken on his plate, which was covered in spices. He took a bite off his fork and chewed, staring down at the plate. Once he swallowed, he lifted his eyes to Lightning. "...It's great," he told her, sincerity in his eyes. He wasn't sure what to expect at first, but now he was looking forward to the rest of the food he had on his plate. It was bound to be good.

Light's tense shoulders slumped in relief. She could tell that Riku was being honest with her. The fact that the food was great though...she couldn't help but smile back at Riku. It wasn't a prideful smile, though she had plenty of reason to be proud of her accomplishments. It was just a smile because of her gift actually turning out good.

Riku hummed softly at Lightning's expression, his smile remaining as he went ahead and busied himself with the rest of the food. There were bread rolls, potatoes, vegetables, the chicken... He wondered what was for dessert. It was all so good already.

Light fought the urge to smirk to herself. Riku obviously didn't understand how important his opinion on the meal was to her, but that was alright. She began to gather food for herself in silence, feeling her stomach grumble inside of her. After a hard day of work, it was time to finally chow down.

Dinner went without a hitch, with the occasional drinks of wine and small talk. Riku hadn't gotten a material gift, but that was the least of his concerns. He only cared about the thoughtfulness and effort put into dinner. If Lightning got him anything else, he would have felt spoiled. All he needed was her, and some food. Food was always good.

After dinner and dessert, Lightning sat with Riku on the porch of his house. It was a clear night with cool air. The stars were especially bright and the scene quieter than usual. Even if silence was between them for the moment, she was content. Tired too, considering all the work she put into the main course and the dessert of sundaes.

Riku was feeling the wine, as sad as that was. Of course, he wasn't going to admit to that. So he focused on sitting on the porch in silence, looking out at the stars and the beach nearby. The Islands were beautiful, just as he expected. But he always knew there was something more beautiful, and that was the woman with him tonight. She didn't need to go through so much trouble of cooking him dinner, but he felt loved. Riku figured that was what she was going for.

While Jasmine curled up against one of Lightning's sides, the ex-soldier leaned her head on Riku's shoulder, He was warm compared to the cool air. "I love you," she said through her heart. The two of them were still getting used to the whole silent communication thing (considering it had been one day since they discovered this ability and they had been apart for all of today), but she wanted to speak to him in whatever way she could so that he would know how loved he was.

Riku smiled, turning his head and placing a kiss in Lightning's pink hair. "I know," he replied. "I love you too." How couldn't he know? Lightning made it so obvious every day. He would be an idiot to not see it, or ignore it. Riku would never do such a thing. He ended things with Lightning once, something he continued to regret, but he wouldn't ever do it again.

Light smiled softly, staying still so she didn't force Riku's lips away from her pink hair. Here she was, a warrior and a lover all in one package. She never thought she'd find love, but she was glad that she found love with Riku, even if their relationship wasn't exactly smooth sailing. She'd sail even the roughest oceans for him.

Riku turned his head after a moment, staring off toward the ocean. He sighed in contentment. "Twenty-one and I don't feel any different," he said softly. How was he supposed to feel? True, he could legally drink now, but how much fun would that be? He was just another year older. It wasn't that big of a deal, right?

"Your age never mattered to me anyway," Light commented quietly. He was a few years younger than her, but she didn't care. Riku was Riku and that was all that mattered to her. It did help that he was mature for his age and wise beyond his years, though. She didn't have much patience for immature people.

Riku smiled softly. "Thanks," he replied. He had always been insecure about that part of their relationship, that he was younger than Lightning. He always believed the man in the relationship needed to be older, stronger, that way he could take care of the woman. While Riku was younger, he was still stronger. He guessed one out of two wasn't bad.

Light lifted a hand and set it on the back of Riku's head teasingly. "You have plenty of time to keep getting older, as long as you do it by my side." She didn't want to be apart from him. All the pain and heartache that came from loving somebody was still worth it when she thought about the warmth she now had inside.

Riku laughed softly, looking down at his lap with a faint smile. "That's okay with me," he replied, tone gentle and full of love. How couldn't he want to spend his coming years alongside Lightning? He wanted to be with her everyday, and by the way she worded things, Lightning wanted the same.

"Good," Light piped quietly. "I wasn't going to give you a choice." She wasn't going to run away from her problems anymore, and she wasn't going to run away from Riku. Though she was so sick of fighting battles, she would fight for what mattered most to her, and that was Riku.

Riku chuckled again, shaking his head. "I didn't think you would," he told her then. Lightning had Riku wrapped around her finger, and surely she knew that. Riku wasn't going anywhere, and neither was Lightning. It was pretty obvious what they both wanted at this point, and that was something Riku was working on.

The Next Day

The next night, Lightning was at her old house on Cocoon. She was just sorting out general business and had been doing it with Riku the majority of the day until Snow showed up. Upon hearing that Riku turned twenty-one the previous day, he insisted that he take Riku out for drinks. Since there wasn't really a choice, Lightning let Riku go with him. But that was hours ago, and now it was getting late. That was why she headed to Snow's favorite bar alone and opened the door, stepping into the rowdy place with large, intoxicated men.

"Okay, okay. Two more shots on me!" Snow said over the music and general uproar from other guests. He and Riku were sitting at the bar, and this kid was taking the alcohol like a champ. Of course, that wasn't without some repercussions; Riku was way past tipsy, which was what Snow was at the moment. It was hard for him to get drunk with him being so large. And though Riku was buff, his tolerance for alcohol was at a zero. It would be a while before he truly drank and remembered the night. "To being twenty-one, buddy!"

Riku smirked and tipped his head back, taking the shot and swallowing hard. He didn't really taste anything anymore, but the alcohol did burn his throat. He wasn't sure what he was getting himself into when he agreed to go out for drinks, but Snow had him downing all types of alcohol. He wasn't sure how many drinks he'd had tonight, if he could remember much at all.

Lightning saw the two at the bar, having heard Snow's voice from across the room. She wasn't sure if she was amused or not, but when she came closer to her two loved ones, she wasn't very amused. "You being nice, Snow?" she asked her brother-in-law, speaking over the noise of the room as she set a hand on his shoulder. Her tone wasn't too worried, but looking over at Riku, she couldn't help but feel uneasy.

Snow turned his head to look at Lightning, smiling upon seeing her. "Oh, hey Light!" he greeted, alcohol naturally making him happier. Riku ordered another drink, and when he heard what it was, he recognized that it was a strong alcohol. But Riku didn't know what half of the drinks were anymore; he saw someone else's and probably asked for the same thing.

Light turned her head to Riku right beside her, smelling the stench of his clothes. When he spoke to the bartender just now, his words were slurred and not sounding much like his regular voice. "Riku?" she checked, moving one of her hands to rest on his leg. "You doing good?" She knew that she was coming across as worried, but she couldn't help it. It looked like Snow and Riku really overdid things here.

"Hm?" Riku hummed in curiosity, barely hearing the voice over all the other noise in the room. Then again, everything was beginning to blur and turn and voices were hard to focus on. But he managed. "Oh, you're here?" What was she doing here?

"Yeah," Light said, nodding slightly as she looked at Riku's disoriented eyes. "I'm here." She shifted her gaze to Snow, who still looked amused at Riku's complete drunkenness. "I think you overdid it," she said bluntly. She wasn't going to mince words and she wasn't going to hide her concern; her worry wasn't enough to bother any of the other drunks around here anyway. Riku really had too much to drink. He was going to regret this in the morning.
