Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

The next morning   Riku lingered in the living room as Lightning's guests talked on the sofas. It was the day after Sora and Kairi's wedding, and now that the event was over, everyone was heading ba

Riku nodded against the pillow, his stomach in knots. This was uncomfortable. Not the bed, but the way he was feeling. He closed his eyes and put a hand to his face, shielding it from view. His face was hot from all the alcohol, and his hand was cold. The contrast was nice.

Lightning returned to the room a few minutes later with the items she promised. She wanted to make sure that Riku was okay, but she also couldn't stand being in his presence right now. Not with all the words that he said. The immediate crisis was over, and now she was going to retreat. She began to leave the bedroom and Riku without bothering to change her stinky clothes. She was sure she'd have the smell of alcohol on her whether she changed clothes or not.

Riku didn't say anything to Lightning, the scent of her Darkness mixed with alcohol leaving the room. As he relaxed, his thoughts turned to her and his heart began to speak them for him, even without permission. "...Thank you," he thought in his stupor. He coughed, the tightening of his stomach nearly making him hurl.

Lightning heard the words and tensed. She didn't want Riku touching her heart and speaking to it when she was such a mess internally. After hearing the message, she put up a wall and separated her heart from Riku's so that she couldn't hear or feel him, and he likewise couldn't feel or hear her as she stepped out on the front porch for some fresh, brisk air.

It only took Riku minutes to lose consciousness, one arm dangling over the bed as he remained on his side, just like Lightning said. Even drunk, he knew he would suffer in the morning. Physically and mentally. It was going to be a difficult twenty-four hours.

Lightning stayed outside all night. She lost track of the time as she lost herself in her thoughts. Yes, it was freezing cold and yes, the snow still fell. Even if she was under her porch on a swing, the wind blew the snow onto her bare skin. She didn't care about it for a while, but when she was finally exhausted from her thoughts, she figured it was best to head back inside. Just as the sun was rising on a snowy world, Lightning curled up on the couch underneath a layer of blankets and began to doze off.

Just as Lightning was dozing off, Riku was waking up. He rolled over, losing more of his stomach in the trash can. Once he was finished, he groaned. His head was pounding, his stomach was turning, and he felt ultimately miserable. He didn't even want to think of what he drank last night; it made him want to get sick again.

Light was cold beneath the blankets but her head was burning. I'm sick aren't I? she realized in silence. She was so stupid for staying outside all night. But she was stupid for more reasons than that. She was such a fool for thinking he forgave her for kissing Kain. But to think he would kiss another girl like that, call her "gorgeous" right in front of her and hold her tenderly...It made her feel even more sick.

It was when Riku looked up at the ceiling that he actually knew where he was: Lightning's. Right, he went out with Snow for drinks last night at one of Cocoon's popular bars. In his heart, he knew that didn't go well. But for the moment, his memory was spotted. More importantly, where was Lightning?

Light pulled the blankets up to her chin, curling up further on the couch. Stupid. So stupid... she thought. She just wanted to sleep to get away from these thoughts for a while. She may have had plenty of experience pulling all nighters, but it was her emotions that tired her out now. Hopefully Riku was sleeping peacefully, because she wasn't going to sleep anytime soon.

Riku turned his head and saw the medicine and water, aware that Lightning was at least around if she left that stuff for him. He slowly sat up, fighting the head-pounding as he leaned against the headboard and grabbed the medicine and water. He took the pills and swallowed what water he could, thanking the Gods that it wasn't alcohol. Just the thought had him fighting the urge to throw up again.

Maybe I should go check on him, Light thought of Riku. But it was only a thought; she didn't feel like standing up at all. All she wanted was to rest. She kept her heavy eyes shut and sighed a quiet breath, beginning to drift once again in her haziness.

Once Riku's stomach ceased its turning, at least for a second, he got out of bed. He moved slowly, not used to feeling so...gross. Regardless, he rose to his feet and realized that his shoes were off, which was probably Lightning's doing, but the rest of his clothes were still on. And they smelled like alcohol. Just the smell had memories rushing back. He pushed past it and made sure to dispose of his mess before searching the house for Lightning. After cleaning up and throwing the trash in the dumpster out back, he made a slow trip to the front of the house, where he covered his eyes at the light coming through the windows. "Ugh," Riku groaned faintly. This was awful.

Light thought she heard a faint grunt in her half consciousness, but she didn't bother reacting to it. She was feeling more and more lousy by the minute. Why did she think that staying outside was a good idea? She knew that she wanted to be outside for fresh air and the coldness was distracting, but still. It wasn't one of her smartest moves, nor was letting Snow take Riku out drinking.

Riku turned his head once he was in the living room, seeing Lightning on the couch. She took up a majority of it, so he decided he would take the chair. He dragged his feet as he passed her, then slowly lowering himself into the chair. Being on his feet made his head pound. That probably wasn't much of a good idea.

Light coughed uneasily, rolling onto her other side as she now faced the room instead of the back of the couch. Her face was flushed by the fever and her hair wasn't as neat as it usually was, not that she cared about appearances at a time like this. She didn't sense Riku in the room yet, since he was so quiet and she was so out of it.

Riku heard Lightning groan and glanced over at her, resting his head in his hand. She wasn't looking so great either. Did she drink the night before as well? He couldn't remember her doing so, but he did remember seeing her there. But why did that memory have him feeling uneasy?

Light peeked her eyes open without cue. The room as it was when she laid down, except for the presence of somebody in a chair. Naturally he was staring at her; Riku always stared. She didn't know what to say to him after everything, but she didn't like the silence between them. "...Hi..." she said hoarsely.

"Mm," Riku grunted in greeting, eyes weak and fighting to close as he gazed at the woman he loved. She wasn't okay, but why? What'd she do last night that had her miserable as well? Riku hoped it wasn't something he did.

Lightning slowly sat up, taking in the look of Riku's eyes. Bad hangover, huh? She didn't need to be connected to his heart to know that. It wasn't like she felt anything he felt anyway since she put up a wall last night. She began to discard her blankets as she took her time standing up. Her work taking care of Riku wasn't done yet.

"...You hungover too?" Riku asked after a moment, his eyes trailing Lightning's slow movement. That was the only conclusion he could come to. What else would she be suffering from? He tensed when he thought of something else: did he hurt her? He didn't, did he? He couldn't have. Snow would have killed him.

Lightning stared at Riku, her gaze momentarily harsh. "No," she said shortly. "I would never get drunk." It turned people into strangers, like it did to Riku last night. He didn't remember it--that much was obvious. But she didn't know whether that was a good thing or not.

Riku was too miserable to notice the change in Lightning's eyes, however brief it was. He rubbed his eyes to try and get rid of the soreness in them. "And that's impossible for Snow...so I was the only one," he assumed lowly. It made sense, not that he was happy about it. Whatever he did last night, he regretted it. This sucked.

Lightning nodded. "Snow's too large to get drunk. I figured he would at least keep you from drinking too much but I was wrong." She should have gone with him so that Riku didn't overdo it like he had. If she had just been there, she could have stopped him from saying such hurtful things.

"I only remember pieces," Riku revealed, keeping his voice quiet so he didn't hurt his head more than necessary. He lifted his gaze to the woman who seemed to be...scrutinizing him, but why? "So did I embarrass myself at all?" He probably did.
