Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

The next morning   Riku lingered in the living room as Lightning's guests talked on the sofas. It was the day after Sora and Kairi's wedding, and now that the event was over, everyone was heading ba

"Last night," Riku reminded her lowly. Lightning knew what he was talking about--all of it. He remembered everything, from the first drink to walking out of the bar shirtless and throwing up outside. It was one of the drinks he had that helped him remember, but the name was lost to him. All that mattered was that he remembered, and that he technically cheated on Lightning. She needed to hear him out.

"Yeah, you got drunk," Lightning said, glaring up at Riku with flushed cheeks. "So what?" She still was stuck with the delusion that Riku didn't remember anything that occurred last night, despite everything pointing to the contrary. But if he did forget it, what was he so eager to bring up now? Why did he look so...unreadable?

Riku frowned. Lightning was avoiding this, or at least trying. She wasn't getting away with it now. "So I kissed Rachel last night, Lightning," he replied lowly. He kissed another girl, insulted her about Kain. He was awful. He was surprised she didn't leave him at the bar.

Lightning's expression completely changed in that moment. She went from frustrated and angered to purely surprised. Her lips parted as her eyes danced over Riku's face. You aren't supposed to remember that, she thought. You aren't supposed to remember any of that... Now she had no clue how to face him. She could act like it didn't exist before because Riku didn't know, but now what?

"I kissed her in front of you after I brought up Kain," Riku said, his hands on either side of Lightning against the counter. "Everything I said...I--" He sighed, hanging his head as he looked to the side. "I shouldn't have said any of it. I was drunk, but that's no excuse." He lifted aqua eyes to her again, gazing at her startled expression. "...I'm so sorry."

Lightning backed away an inch further, that being the only space that she had to get away from Riku. Yes, she was startled by Riku's memory. But she was equally startled by all the emotions rising up with every single word he said. He really did remember all of it... She felt the walls of her heart go down as the tears in her eyes welled up. She wasn't angry. She was sad.

Riku wasn't sure what else to say. He couldn't blame any of it on being drunk. He yelled at her about Kain because he was still upset about it, but that kiss was a different story. "...I wanted you to feel the way I did when you kissed Kain, I guess," he explained softly. The tears in Lightning's eyes hurt, and so did the sadness that left her heart and found his. "But...I shouldn't have. I should have let it go. I pushed you to kiss him like that when I left you, and I know you regret it, so...Rachel should have never happened. I just...I wasn't myself, you know that."

"I know," Light said weakly. Of course Riku wasn't himself; it was extremely obvious. "I know, but..." Even when she was hearing Riku tell her how sorry he was and how none of it should have happened, it still hurt the same. He wrapped that girl around him...called her gorgeous and made out with her...That was a lot worse than her kiss with Kain and it stung that Riku would get his revenge like that.

Riku lifted his hands to Lightning's face, holding it gently as some of his fingers rested in her hair. "I love you, Lightning," he whispered. "I love you so much. Rachel was a mistake, but you are...a blessing. I never thought I would meet someone like you, or love you, or love at all. But you taught me how to love. Do you know how important that is to me?" He would be forever in her debt.

Tears leaked from Light's eyes to her heated cheeks and the hands that rested on either side of her face. "I heard before that drunkenness can make a person say truths that they wouldn't say otherwise," she said, trying to control her voice the best that she could. "So...did you mean any of it?" Was he really furious at her enough to tell her to run back to Kain? To force a kiss on another girl in her presence? How much of it wasn't true?

Riku pressed his lips together, swallowing at the question. "...I'm still mad about Kain," he admitted after a moment, though he said it tightly. "I've always had a problem with him." That was nothing new. The fact that Lightning kissed him to make Riku upset made matters worse.

Lightning diverted her eyes as she lifted her hands to wipe at some of the tears. Of course Riku was mad concerning Kain, but what was it about that situation that still had him upset? She apologized for the showy kiss that she gave to Kain, and she was sorry she ran off without giving Riku any warning. She didn't know what else she had to apologize for.

"And Rachel..." Riku shook his head and began to lower his hands. "...She was just some girl. The kiss meant nothing. I was just...angry, and jealous. That's all it was." Why he sought revenge that way, he wasn't sure. "I was stupid. Turning twenty-one obviously didn't help with my maturity...or lack thereof."

Light wiped at her eyes until she was sure the tears were gone. She felt so stupid for crying over Riku's drunken actions. "I know she's just some girl," she said. "But you..." She had to be blunt with him on this; it was important to her. "...What you did with her was so much worse than what I did. You called her gorgeous and cradled her. You made out with her when I was three feet away." It was absolutely horrible.

Riku leaned away, his eyes darting to the side. "I know," he admitted softly. He knew he called her gorgeous. She was pretty, but...Lightning was beautiful. And he knew that he made out with her...and there was no excuse for that. Ever.

Lightning brought a hand to her face and covered her eyes. "Sorry," she muttered. "I shouldn't be so worked up about a drunken kiss..." He was intoxicated and wasn't thinking straight. And telling her to go back to Kain...he obviously didn't mean any of that. He left her there once, but that wasn't going to happen ever again. Just two days ago on his birthday, they were together with no intention of separating.

"It was more than that to you," Riku said, eyes finding Lightning again. He wasn't stupid. If it was just a drunken kiss to Lightning, she wouldn't be this upset about it. He looked away again. "You should be upset. I wasn't myself anymore. I was a...well, I was a jerk. Just like Rachel said after she threw that beer in my face." He definitely deserved that.

Claire lowered her hand, looking up at Riku with pleading eyes. "Will you promise to never get drunk again?" She didn't want to lose him like she did last night. She wanted him to keep being the Riku that she fell in love with, not a man bent on causing heartache and getting revenge for things she thought were forgiven.

Riku lifted one of his hands, grabbing Lightning's wrist before placing her hand to his bare chest. Right over his heart. "...I promise," he swore. That came from the heart, so doubting his intentions wasn't possible. He hated being drunk; he wasn't in control of himself, and he would have been suffering memory loss without that Cocoon specialty drink. His drunk days were over just after they began.

Light's eyes softened further at the oath. She couldn't help her next actions when Riku's heart spoke to her. She gently withdrew her hand from Riku's heart and wrapped both her arms around his lower back instead, placing herself against him as she lightly hugged him. "Don't leave me again." He was with her physically, but the Riku she loved was gone. She hated that.

Riku wasn't expecting the hug, but when he felt Lightning against him, his arms naturally embraced her. His hand found the back of her head. "...You'll never lose me," he replied gently. He wouldn't leave, and he wouldn't betray her again. He loved Lightning far too much to make that kind of mistake a second time.

Lightning hid her hot face in Riku's neck, her arms gentle around his waist. She was glad to hear it. It would take a while for the memories of last night not to give her such a sick feeling in her stomach, but at least she knew that her relationship with Riku was safe. They still loved each other and that was what mattered more than any drama.

"...The only person I ever want to kiss is you," Riku told Lightning gently, resting the side of his face against her head. "Other girls are pretty, or gorgeous, or whatever. But you're beautiful. And the connection we have has only convinced me of that." He pulled Lightning closer, smiling softly. "I've seen your heart, Claire. The outside only reflects the inside, and that person is incomparable."

Lightning squeezed Riku with all the words that flowed from his lips, and though he probably appreciated being held onto, he probably wasn't appreciating her near his stomach. She wasn't thinking about that though; she was just taking in the words that Riku said and the healing that came with them.

"I love you," Riku whispered lowly, reminding Lightning once again. He would never stop loving her. He couldn't, especially when he had plans to marry the woman in his arms. He wanted them to be united as one, as husband and wife, and maybe someday, as father and mother to their children. Riku hadn't ever thought of a family until recently, and it was all because of Lightning.
