Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

The next morning   Riku lingered in the living room as Lightning's guests talked on the sofas. It was the day after Sora and Kairi's wedding, and now that the event was over, everyone was heading ba

"Physically," Riku confirmed, still staring down at the blanket. His free hand rested on top of it, and he fingered the fabric as his mind wandered. Mentally he was a wreck, just because of all that occurred. He kissed another girl right in front of Lightning, called her gorgeous, held her like she was someone important to him. How could he have done such a thing? Lightning was the only woman he was supposed to ever treat in such a way, and even after that mistake, she was still here. She was still under his arm.

Light frowned, lifting a hand to the side of Riku's head gently. "Don't worry too much about the other stuff right now," she said gently. "I'm just glad you're okay now." Well, at least he was okay in two senses of the word: he was alright physically and he was back with her instead of his mind being lost like it was last night. That was enough for her.

Riku turned his head toward Lightning more at her touch, his aquamarine eyes finding her. "...You stood up for me," he reminded her, voice low. After everything he did, Lightning defended him. "Why would you do that?" Riku was a pig, a jerk, and Lightning still defended him. He would have expected her to leave him to suffer, but then again, this was Lightning. His Claire would never do such a thing, would she?

Lightning briefly looked up towards Riku's face, but the position wasn't good enough for her to see him well, so she just let her eyes flicker shut once more. "You have to ask?" she inquired quietly. It was obvious to her why she stood up for him: he was vulnerable and he needed her, no matter what her emotions and mental state were at the time. His needs came first.

"...You shouldn't have done that," Riku said, already knowing the answer to her question. Lightning stood up for him because she loved him and he wasn't in his right mind; he couldn't take control of the situation himself. As humiliating as that was, it was the truth, and Lightning recognized that before he could. But all it did was cause trouble, more than he did originally. Lightning should have just left him to suffer alone, or let Snow take care of it.

Lightning furrowed her eyebrows. "Shut up, Riku," she said softly. Of course she should have done what she did; she was protective of him. And that girl...What a...She locked her jaw briefly at the thought of it. That girl was fully prepared to take advantage of Riku's drunkenness, but she wasn't about to let that happen.

Riku closed his eyes at the order, not having anything to reply with. Shutting up was exactly what he would do, his mind wandering once more. After all that Riku did, Lightning stood up for him. He didn't deserve her. It was that simple. Someone as jealous and hateful and stupid as him didn't deserve someone so considerate. Lightning could do better.

"Of course I should protect you when you can't protect yourself," Lightning said, her voice gentler but still tense because of Riku's last statement. "I wasn't about to let you go and--" She didn't bother finishing the sentence, the bitterness in her voice enough to show Riku what she was thinking. Would Riku have really gone that far last night to get revenge? What would have happened if she didn't step in? Those questions scared her.

Riku turned his face into Lightning's hair, lifting his hand that was on the blanket to her head. All he could do was hold her, the unfinished sentence haunting him as well. Rachel was prepared to do anything, and by that, Riku believed she would have taken something he wanted to give to Lightning. Just the thought had Riku's jaw flexing, his eyebrows furrowing. Don't go there, he begged. Riku didn't want to talk about this anymore.

Light kept her mouth shut, Riku's hand on her head bringing her a little bit closer to his chest. Her eyebrows remained furrowed at both the thoughts and the actions Riku took. The hand that was previously on the side of his head fell down in front of them, limply resting on one of Riku's legs. She was just as disturbed at the thoughts as Riku was.

Riku kissed Lightning's head of pink hair, his eyes remaining closed. "I love you," he murmured against her hair, keeping his position. He didn't want to move. He didn't want to think. He didn't want to do anything but be here with her. The fact that last night even existed bothered him, but...Riku had to work past it with Lightning. It was their only option.

Lightning waited a moment, trying to quench the anger that had risen up in her again. Apparently not everything was frozen away last night when she was outside. But despite her frustration and anger, the next words that she said were absolutely true. "I love you too."

Riku kissed Lightning again before he pulled her even closer to his naked chest, both of his arms around her now. All that mattered after everything was that they loved each other. He knew that, even if some of the memories were disappointing. Regardless, he closed his eyes and tried to relax. He was lacking sleep, and Lightning was sick. They both needed to recover from everything that occurred the night before.

Light couldn't help but grunt when Riku shoved her into his chest. It was too tight for her weary body. She turned her head the best she could so that she wouldn't cough on Riku, though she wasn't sure how much good that did them when she had her coughing fit. Ugh. I hate this.

Riku loosened his hold on Lightning until her coughing fit subsided, which was when he slowly rose from the couch. He glanced at her only briefly before leaving the room to retrieve some medicine. She needed it more than he did; his was only a headache, really. Lightning seemed to be suffering from much worse. Riku made sure to grab cold medicine before returning to the living room, grabbing the water that he neglected to drink earlier and sitting down beside Lightning. He offered the items to her wordlessly, waiting for her to take them.

Light looked at Riku with tired, reddened eyes before she focused on the pill and the water that came with it. She wasn't used to taking medicine, considering how little she got sick. Nevertheless, she accepted the items and swallowed the pill with the help of the water, her throat feeling swollen and on fire. The latter was something she felt all over, though. Getting up and checking her temperature probably would have been a good idea. Or getting comfortable in a bed, except for the fact that all of her bed-sheets were in the washer.

Riku took a seat on one side of the couch, reaching for Lightning once he was settled. She could rest here, with her head on his lap. The bed wasn't ready, and this was the next substitute. He would do his best to make her more comfortable, if he could. He owed her, after all.

Light felt Riku's hand on her arm guiding her to lay down with her head on his lap, but she placed a hand against his side to keep herself up. "I want to go check my temperature," she muttered, setting a hand on the couch so that she could rise to her feet. Before she got settled, she wanted to know just how bad she was.

Riku looked at Lightning, his hand lingering on her arm. He shook his head and moved before she could, rising to his feet. "I got it," he said softly. It was the least he could do, after all she did for him within the past twelve hours. It couldn't have been easy, taking care of a drunk. Especially one who had never had alcohol in his system before. Riku would get the thermometer.

Lightning nodded softly, leaning into the back of the couch again. Though she knew that Riku was going to be back in a minute, she changed her position to get more comfortable. She turned the blanket into a pillow and laid herself down the length of the couch, her body both cold and hot at the same time.

Riku retrieved the thermometer in only a short minute, and he squatted down in front of the couch as he slipped it into Lightning's mouth. He stayed in that position, lightly stroking her hair before the thermometer beeped. He examined it once it was in his hand, and he frowned. "One-o-three," he declared, setting the instrument down on the coffee table behind him. Lightning was definitely sick.

Claire peeked her eyes open, following the movement of the thermometer as her heart dropped. One-o-three was a pretty high temperature. She knew from taking care of Serah that when somebody had a temperature this high, you were supposed to go to a doctor. But there was no way that she was going anywhere. She'd recover in time, and hopefully that time wouldn't be too drawn out.

Riku lifted his hand back to Lightning's head, his thumb repeating its motion of stroking her hair. He simply gazed at her, not knowing what to say. Her temperature was serious, but what could he do to help? An ice bath would help lower her fever, but he doubted she wanted to move. A cold rag, maybe? He could hold it against her head while she tried to get some sleep...

Light kept her half-open eyes on Riku as he stroked her hair, seeing the concern written all over his face. Even though she was the cause of that worry, she wanted to make it go away as well. But she couldn't think of the right words to say, and if she could think of the right thing to do, she couldn't do it, considering how tired her body was.

Riku thought of something that would probably feel a bit better than a cold rag. He moved his hand to Lightning's forehead, focusing on that as he called to a mild Blizzard spell that only cooled his hand. This would help reduce the fever, and a headache if Lightning had one. He hoped it worked, because it was the only idea he had.
