Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

The next morning   Riku lingered in the living room as Lightning's guests talked on the sofas. It was the day after Sora and Kairi's wedding, and now that the event was over, everyone was heading ba

Light knew that the cold radiating off Riku's hand was unnatural; it was far too comforting to just be a hand that was cooler than her face. Blizzard spell, she realized in silence. Though she thoroughly enjoyed the coolness of the spell, she couldn't expect Riku to kneel in front of her forever. "You don't have to..." she started quietly.

Riku shook his head, smiling faintly. "I know I don't," he acknowledged. "But I want to." He loved Lightning, so of course he was going to do what he could to help her. He could tell by her expression that this was helping. So he would keep doing it.

Light should have known that would be Riku's response. Thankfully she had a reply of her own. "Why don't you sit up here, and you can be my pillow?" she suggested quietly. Instead of kneeling on the ground, Riku could sit comfortably on the couch again. And she'd be near him, so this would be a good position for both of them.

Riku's smile grew slightly, but he wordlessly nodded and rose to his feet. He moved to be what Lightning requested, sitting down so she could rest her head on his lap. Once she was settled, he put his hand back on her forehead, focusing on a light spell again to try and bring her fever down. It was all he could think to do.

Light set a hand on Riku's leg as she rested her head on the same one, her eyes open halfway as he cast his spell in silence. She wished that he would have done this sooner; it felt so, so refreshing. And so did just resting on him while she was lying down as opposed to sitting up. This was so much better than the previous night had been.

Riku gazed down at Lightning in silence, not finding any words to say. He said all he needed to earlier that morning, and while it was still early, he didn't even think of what he would do for the rest of the day. His appetite would be put on hold due to the drinking, and any thoughts of leaving the house were gone now that Lightning was sick. He was staying with her after everything, especially now that she was sick. It was his turn to take care of her.

Soon after Light finally drifted into a nap, Serah and Snow stopped in. Naturally Serah heard all about the previous night and what happened, including Riku's stunts. She wanted to make sure that her sister was alright. She was sure before walking in that Lightning was fine physically but a mess emotionally. However, the opposite was true. After unlocking the door with her own key and walking into the living room, she was surprised to see Lightning and Riku on the couch, the former's face still flushed from sickness.

Riku looked up, his eyes darting to the door. As soon as he saw who it was, he lifted a finger to his lips to signal Serah and Snow to keep it down. Lightning just got to sleep, and he didn't want anyone waking her. He saw Snow nod as he followed his wife in, shutting the door quietly to keep out the cold. It wasn't often that it snowed in Cocoon, especially in Bodhum, but Lightning clearly didn't care since she was outside last night. All because of Riku. It didn't help him feel any better.

Serah began to take off her coat and boots, eyeing Riku and Lightning from her spot. She looked at the young man for an explanation, an eyebrow arched in protective impatience. Snow came home last night and he told her about what happened. It wasn't because he wanted to, but because she forced it out of him. She even forced him to come with her today so that he could apologize to Lightning for his poor judgment.

Riku looked away at Serah's expression, focusing on Lightning as he kept his spell going. He would run out of magic eventually, but until then, he would keep this up. "...She stayed outside all night," he revealed softly. He wasn't sure why other than she needed to "cool down." Probably because Riku was too much of an idiot to handle things himself.

Serah entered the living room when she was done, lifting a hand to her face as she sighed. Lightning, you idiot. If she really needed a place to be alone, she could have come to Serah's house. She would have given her the privacy she needed. She looked at the thermometer sitting out, the temperature still on display. "One-o-three?" she said quietly, her heart dropping. That was a seriously high temperature.

Riku nodded, glancing up in time to see Snow take a seat in the chair nearby. He found Serah after a moment, beginning to explain. "I'm trying to cool her down with a few spells," he said softly. "She already took medicine, but it's the only thing I can think of." He felt useless otherwise.

Serah nodded softly, taking a seat on the coffee-table so that she could look at Riku and Lightning best. "At least you're thinking straight now," she commented quietly, giving Riku a brief look. She wanted an explanation for all this, and she wanted to know how Lightning was coping with it. Serah was sure Riku remembered the night, since Snow overheard Riku order the memory drink.

Riku once again looked away at Serah's expression, his eyes instead falling on the woman he loved. The jab was meant to sting, and it did. Riku wouldn't forgive himself so easily for what happened the night before. He was stupid, as he usually was with things like this. Riku wasn't too careful with Lightning's heart, and the realization hurt his own. If he wanted a future with her--and he did--he really needed to wise up and take control of situations. He couldn't keep doing this.

Lightning felt the pain of Riku's heart impact her own, even in her slumber. Their hearts were always connected, unless she put up walls like she had the previous night. Right now wasn't one of those cases. She winced slightly in her sleep, adjusting her position but trying not to move her head too much because she was aware of the hand on her forehead. What's wrong? Something's not right.

Riku's aquamarine eyes lingered on Lightning when she moved, and he ran his cold fingertips over her head as he continued his magic. Everyone was quiet in the room, which was good because Lightning needed the peace, but his heart was speaking to him loud and clear: he needed to stop being so stupid. He was himself again, but maybe that wasn't good enough. Riku needed to be more mature, stronger, wiser. He needed to be better, or else he was going to lose the woman he loved. He needed to change.

While Lightning sighed in physical comfort, Serah sighed at the whole situation. "We'll stick around till she wakes up," she declared quietly as she rose to her feet. "I'm going to go cook something." When Lightning woke up, at least she'd have some chicken-noodle soup ready for her. And if she had time, Serah would bake some cookies as well.

Snow looked from his wife to Riku to see the kid not say anything. Riku wasn't much of a kid anymore, given his age, but something changed since last night. Whatever it was, Snow wasn't going to pry. He had seen enough last night to know there was a difference in Riku, and that was all that really mattered.

It took Light a while to wake up. Serah had enough time to make her soup and start with cookies. And Snow--he had time to get bored. Serah put him to work with finishing the laundry and now he was making her bed. Riku was the only person who hadn't moved at all in the past few hours, but that was because of Light sleeping on his lap. The blizzard spell disappeared a long time ago so that she was waking up hotter again. A little sweat had even formed on her brow, but she felt better in the sense that she was at least close to Riku as she drowsily opened her eyes.

Riku had dozed off somewhere down the line, and his head hung to the side slightly, his chin to his chest. He breathed evenly as he slept, his hand still lingering on Lightning's head, his fingers in her hair now as opposed to sitting on her skin. He stopped the magic when he ran out, and if he was going to help Lightning any further along those lines, he needed to go grab some ethers. Until then, he slept, form limp.

Lightning slowly began to sit up, Riku's hand on her head slipping into his lap as she moved. She still felt lousy, even after a few hours of sleep and Riku's cooling spells. Maybe they helped initially, but their effect wore off a long time ago and now she had that high fever again. She rubbed at her weary eyes before looking at Riku, seeing that he was tired like she was.

Snow walked through the hallway, stopping when he saw Lightning in the living room. "...Looks like you two traded places," he said with a faint smile. Riku had been awake at the start, but that clearly changed. He didn't blame him for sleeping; hangovers were the worst. Not that Snow would know, as he hadn't been hungover since he was much younger...and smaller.

Lightning looked over at Snow, his voice loud in her ears. He wasn't exactly her favorite person right now, and he wouldn't be in that position for a while because of how he didn't keep Riku in check the previous night. Thankfully for her, Serah came into the living room before Light could make any remarks.

Serah walked out of the kitchen, leaving the oven mitts behind as she looked at her elder sister. She had been cooking and baking for a while, but that was all done now. Just in time for her to worry over her sister. "How do you feel?"

"This?" Light said quietly, referring to her cold. "It's nothing."

"I'll be the judge of that." Serah picked up the thermometer off the coffee table, holding it up for Lightning. "Open wide." She was going to see for herself just how bad Lightning was instead of taking her word for it.

Snow crossed his arms as he watched the scene unfold, his smile no longer present. Lightning's expression just a moment ago when she looked at him was enough to wipe his smile--however faint it had been--away. She was upset with him, as she should have been. She trusted him with Riku's well-being, and Snow did little to make sure he turned out alright. But...he had been doing just fine before Lightning showed up. It wasn't Snow's fault that she set Riku off.

Lightning begrudgingly opened her mouth and shut it again, looking much like a pouting child while Serah looked more like the doting parent. In all seriousness, she was surprised that Riku didn't wake up with how much noise they were all making. She kept her mouth shut until the thermometer beeped loudly and Serah pulled it out, simply frowning at the temperature without telling her how bad it was.
