Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

The next morning   Riku lingered in the living room as Lightning's guests talked on the sofas. It was the day after Sora and Kairi's wedding, and now that the event was over, everyone was heading ba

Riku was fighting the urge to wake up. All of the noise was enough to coax him out of his slumber, but he tried to go back to sleep because his body needed it. He was dehydrated and tired, and that was that. But the loud beeping from the thermometer had him lifting his head drowsily. He rubbed his eyes after catching Serah's expression, a soft breath leaving him. Clearly his spells from earlier didn't help.

"One-o-two-point-eight," Serah read aloud, her voice softer in seriousness as she looked at the thermometer. She lifted her head to Lightning frowning at her sister. "You're an idiot, you know." She should have known better to sit outside on a night with snow.

"Snow's rubbing off on you," Light said, wearily trying to make a joke. "You never would have called me an idiot before." Snow was bolder with people than Serah was, though Snow normally didn't call Lightning an idiot. He knew that if he did, he would be sorry about it later.

"I never would," Snow added, smirking slightly. "I'll just get slugged." He was always on the receiving end of Lightning's punches, or he used to be. He tried to be a little wiser when it came to his choice of words. And actions, depending on the case. But lately, he'd been getting slugged by Riku more than Lightning. It was weird how that worked.

Lightning looked over at Snow, as did Serah. "No, you never have," she agreed quietly. "You give me enough reasons to slug you without calling me an idiot." Like last night. She wasn't going to get up and slug him for that at this very moment, but she did begin to rise to her feet.

Serah also rose, alarmed that Lightning was standing up with how sick she was. "What are you doing?" she asked.

"Going to get water for Riku," she responded, glancing at her boyfriend as she spoke. She heard him waking up, and she was sure that he was thirsty because of the alcohol dehydrating him the previous night. She'd get him a drink and take care of him again.

Riku didn't open his eyes, but he was awake enough to hear Lightning. He lifted a hand and grabbed her wrist, holding it securely. "Don't," he told her lowly. "I'm fine." She needed to worry about herself more than him. And that jab at Snow, the man just needed to ignore it. Riku could tell without looking that Snow was unhappy with it.

"I'll get the water," Serah said, putting a hand on Lightning's shoulder to sit her back down next to Riku. "And I'm getting soup for you. You know you really need to take better care of yourself, Lightning," she said strictly. "Stop trying to take care of everyone. None of us are children." She knew Lightning was used to taking care of Serah because of how they grew up, but now it was time for Lightning to let other people take care of themselves.

Riku kept his grip on Lightning's hand, his other one holding his head. His headache came back, but he wasn't about to say anything; Lightning was more important than he was. Right now, Serah was right: Lightning needed to stop trying to help everyone and look after herself for once.

As Lightning sat down again, Serah reassured her of one more thing. "I'll go get medicine too. Happy now?" She was being strict with her sister, but with Lightning, she needed to show her stubbornness or Lightning would fight back. At least her sister nodded to show her acceptance before Serah walked away to take care of the pair's needs.

Riku moved his hand to hold Lightning's once she sat down, but he otherwise remained silent. His eyes stayed shut as he tried to will away his headache. The only reason it was there was because of his dehydration, which Serah would take care of momentarily. Until then, he would just have to take it.

Though Serah just scolded Lightning a minute ago for caring too much for others and too little for herself, she still asked Riku a question about his state. "Did resting help at all?" she inquired quietly, looking at his face and seeing the pain of his headache. She hoped resting helped him at least a little bit.

"Yeah," Riku murmured tiredly, opening his eyes to look at the woman he loved. It helped to an extent. Not completely, of course, but it did what it could. Riku just needed to take it easy today and recover from last night. It was his only option.

Lightning lifted a hand, running her fingers through Riku's hair as she straightened him up a bit. She looked the same as she had earlier with her rosy cheeks and red eyes, though she at least felt more alert now than she had been before her nap. If it hadn't been for that spell Riku cast earlier, she would have never fallen asleep in the first place.

Riku smiled weakly at the sensation of Lightning's fingers running through his hair, his eyes closing briefly. He wasn't sure that she knew how much he loved it when she did that. Other than his mom when he was little, nobody ran their hands through his hair, except for her. He appreciated the gesture, even if it was something small.

Light ran her hand through Riku's hair again, briefly comparing him to a dog in her head with how pleased his expression looked. "You should have laid down to rest," she stated quietly. It wasn't fair that she got to be perfectly comfortable while sleeping and Riku was forced to sit up the whole time. He was probably pretty stiff.

"I was in your bed all night," Riku murmured, opening his eyes to look at the woman he loved. "I'm fine." Sitting up was nothing; he'd slept in worse places before. Besides, he kind of deserved the discomfort. He was an idiot last night, for multiple reasons. This was karma.

"You're doing it again, Lightning," Serah said in annoyance, approaching the couple with everything she promised. Lightning really needed to stop worrying about Riku, especially because of his actions the previous night. "Soup--" She held it out for Lightning to take, and once her hand was away from Riku's hair, she accepted it. "Water." She placed it on the table next to Riku along with the next item she spoke of. "Medicine." That was everything, though if she had her way, she'd let Riku suffer for a bit. He really hurt Lightning last night and Serah didn't appreciate it.

Riku released Lightning's hand from his grasp and nodded to Serah in thanks for the water, which he grabbed and started to drink. It was refreshing, to say the least, because his body really did need it to rejuvenate. Riku was just glad Sora and Kairi weren't here to see this. They would be disappointed in him, and he didn't want to think of how ashamed they would be of him for his actions. Lightning's family's opinion was bad enough.

After Lightning began her soup, Serah returned to the kitchen and got bowls for herself and for Snow. Either Serah assumed that Riku wasn't hungry or she was ignoring him. Either way, the three ate in an awkward silence while Riku drank his water. Lightning was the first to finish since she was served before the other two. "You're hungry, right?" she asked Riku quietly, beginning to rise to her feet. She'd get him soup.

"Uh...not really," Riku said with a small shake of his head. The smell from the soup was kind of nauseating, honestly. While his stomach was empty and probably craving something, his appetite was gone. "But thanks." He would pass on the soup, or any food for now.

Lightning nodded slightly, though she did reach across Riku for his empty glass. Since she was going to take her empty bowl to the kitchen anyway, she could at least get him a refill of water while she was there. She stepped past him, Serah, and Snow on her way. One person followed her into the kitchen though and stood in the doorway, blocking her exit. "What's with the glare, Serah?" she asked with a sigh. Was she not allowed to walk ten feet away to the kitchen?

Serah stood with her back to the living room, speaking softly enough that Riku and Snow couldn't hear her. Or so she thought. "Snow told me some of the things that Riku said to you last night," she stated. "He told you to run back to Kain."

Riku closed his eyes when he heard Serah's words, and he lifted a hand to pinch the bridge of his nose. She must have forgotten about his time in Darkness; his senses were heightened drastically because of it, especially his hearing. He understood every word Lightning's sister said, with Kain's name striking a nerve in Riku's heart.

"I know what he said, Serah," Lightning said, pouring fresh water into Riku's cup. "So what?" She didn't want to admit that Serah bringing up such knowledge got to her, and she was ticked at Snow for telling her everything in such detail. How was she supposed to forget the night when Serah kept bringing it up?

Serah folded her arms across her chest. "I think you should run back to him," she declared quietly and sternly. "Back to Kain." There had been a lot of drama with Riku lately and while he wasn't a bad guy by any means, he realized the same thing Serah did: Lightning was better off with Kain than she was with Riku.

Riku's jaw locked at the words, his eyebrows furrowing as he fought his headache. Serah's words were far from comforting, and they hurt more than just his head; they hurt his heart too. Maybe I just need to leave, he thought in silence. Sora and Kairi were probably wondering what he was up to anyway. But...he couldn't leave Lightning when she was sick. She needed him, right?

Lightning felt hurt in her heart, but she assumed it was her own. "You're joking, right?" she hissed at her sister. "This isn't up for discussion. I made my choice and I chose Riku. And it was the best choice I ever made."

"He thinks you're better off with Kain too, and he's right," Serah hissed right back. "He said as much last night when he was trying to push you away."

"He was drunk," Lightning said in Riku's defense. "He didn't mean for me to actually go back to Kain. He was just angry and stupid and jealous. Serah--" She took a step forward, staring at her sister with serious eyes. "Whatever spark Kain and I have--whatever connection there is, it'll never be the same connection that I have with Riku. I'm not going to flip-flop between two guys. I've made my decision and I know that I made the right one." She forced her way past Serah with the glass of water, though she looked over her shoulder at her sister one last time as she spoke. "If you came here to criticize me and my choices, then you can just leave." She wouldn't be putting up with this today.

Riku stayed still, the exchange between both sisters ringing in his head. His heart underwent a sharp stab of pain at every word said, even Lightning's. He didn't mean to come between her and her sister. If he was getting in the way, he would just go home. To the Islands, even if his home was wherever Lightning was. If Riku was really that much of a nuisance, he would tell Serah he would take off and she wouldn't have to worry about him being in the way. But...that would crush Lightning, and Riku couldn't do that. Ever.
