Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

"Hey." Serah reached out and grabbed Lightning's wrist to stop her, spinning her sister around so she would look at her. "I came here to look out for you, not criticize you. I wanted to make sure you were okay."

"Riku's doing just fine making sure of that."

"I'm glad he is," Serah said. "And I'm glad that you're confident in your choice. I hope that it's the right one. Lately, everything's been so--" She saw Lightning's eyes narrow, so she didn't bother to finish her sentence. "We're on your side, okay? We love you."

I'm not feeling the love, Lightning thought with the same expression she wore previously. "I'll keep that in mind," she said lowly. "Mind letting me go?" She looked down at Serah's hand on her wrist before looking up to her sister and seeing her mixed expression. Right now, Lightning didn't have the energy to worry about this. She took her own hand away and walked back to Riku, practically slamming the water down on the coffee table as Serah told Snow that it was time to go.

Snow's eyes went from Lightning when she slammed the water down to his wife, to whom he nodded. He rose from his seat in the chair and started toward the door to get his shoes and coat on. "Riku," he called lowly. When the young man looked up at him, Snow smiled apologetically. "Sorry about last night. It...wasn't supposed to go south."

Riku shook his head. "Don't sweat it," he advised. It wasn't Snow's fault it went downhill; it was Riku's. He was the one who lost control of himself and acted out. Snow wasn't meant to be his babysitter. Everything was Riku's own doing. At Riku's words, Snow busied himself with tying his boots, then opening the door for Serah. He guessed they were heading back home.

Lightning stood next to the table and the couch in silence while Snow and Serah got dressed and left. Her temper was making her even hotter than she already was. In fact, she was beginning to feel dizzy from the overheating. Serah seriously got on her nerves today with how she told her to run back to Kain. Did she seriously believe Lightning was the kind of person to run away as soon as things turned south? Her fists trembled by her sides in fury.

Riku looked at Lightning when she remained standing, and he lifted his hand to hold her shaking wrist. He assumed that whatever Lightning was upset about, it had to do with Serah and her "looking out for her." Serah seriously thought Riku was doing a bad job at taking care of Lightning...and maybe she was right. Riku stared at Lightning's small wrist that his fingers encircled, wishing he could do something to make things better. But he was only good for making things worse.

Lightning looked down at the hand that was holding her wrist, his hand calm and steady compared to hers. He heard that whole thing. She knew it from the very start that Serah was speaking too loudly. She lifted her free hand to her face and released an angered breath, her other hand held still by Riku's hand. "She's wrong," she muttered to Riku. "So wrong that it pisses me off."

"It's okay," Riku said, looking up at the woman he loved. Just calm down. Serah was right in a few things, like Lightning probably being better off with Kain. Even if that was true, she belonged with Riku. All the proof they needed was their hearts; they were connected. That was enough for Riku to know that Lightning was right too: she made her choice, and it was the correct one.

Lightning briefly swayed on her feet, though she adjusted her stance to catch herself. Or so she thought. She winced when she stepped on one of her feet wrong and lost her balance, falling down in weakness and dizziness. Now she was feeling worse than ever before. If tempers could increase fevers, she was in deep trouble.

Riku grunted, still having a hold on Lightning's wrist even when she fell. He instantly left the couch and knelt down next to her, moving one of his hands to brush her hair out of her face. "Claire," he called softly. "Are you okay?" She was worse than he thought, and that was bad enough. She really needed to get to bed.

Lightning looked up at Riku, her face redder than it was before and her skin even hotter. "Fine," she said weakly, though it was more of a whimper than anything else. She set both her hands on Riku's shoulders to keep herself sitting up, though she barely had a grasp on them at all. She didn't know it was possible to feel this hot...

Riku looked Lightning over, his hand cradling her face, but only briefly. "You're burning up again," he pointed out. His aquamarine eyes met Lightning's blue, and he knew instantly that they had to resort to something more than just resting. "You need to take an ice bath." He would use an ether that he had stored in one of the cupboards to replenish his magic, and then he would use his Blizzard spells to get the water cold enough to bring down Lightning's fever. It was their only choice, unless she wanted to go to the doctor.

Light's eyes widened briefly. "I'm fine," she said quietly, shaking her head ever so slightly. She could tell that she was making Riku a worried mess right now, and she again felt bad for something that she couldn't control. If Riku just wanted to give her an ice pack or something, she was sure that she would be just fine...

Riku shook his head. "I'm not taking any chances," he declared lowly. He gathered Lightning in his arms, rising to his feet as he fought his own symptoms. He would work past them for Lightning's sake. He started out of the living room and down the hall with her in his grasp, and he held her securely so he wouldn't drop her. He would never let her go, physically or spiritually. She was in his heart forever, and he would protect her the best he could. Even if it was from something as petty as a fever, he would do his best to make it better.

Though she was sure Riku wasn't feeling up to par because of the previous night, Lightning still felt the strength in his arms as he carried her. Compared to him right now, she felt like a limp doll. She kept one arm draped over his shoulder, not bothering to fight back against him as she shut her eyes. She felt so sick that she wanted to be knocked out to escape from it for a while. Hopefully the ice bath would help.

After getting Lightning in the bathroom, Riku filled up the tub with cold water. Once it was ready, he used the ether he got from the storage closet and created blocks of ice from some of the water. He crushed it with his hands and then spread it among the water in the bath. That was when Riku picked Lightning up and slowly lowered her into the water, even if she was fully dressed. Right now, things like that weren't important; he just needed to cool her down.

Light took in a sharp breath at the freezing water, her eyes widening to their normal size at the sheer coldness of it. She lowered herself down into it the best she could though, the water up to her chin as she shut her eyes and rested her head against the wall behind her. She may have been burning up, but the water was freezing even for her.

"I know it's cold," Riku said, still kneeling next to the bath, "but it'll help." He dipped a rag into the water and rang it out before starting to dab Lightning's forehead with it. The bath would bring her temperature down significantly, or at least it should have. If this didn't work, Riku would just have to take Lightning to the doctor.

Claire turned her head faintly to the side, looking at the person who was pressing a cool rag to her head. She started to shiver then, her body reacting to the sudden coldness that overwhelmed her. "Riku," she said quietly, her voice still weak as she gazed at him. She didn't have a real reason for saying his name; it was just what left her lips.

Riku held the rag to Lightning's head, his eyes finding hers when she said his name. He didn't sense anything behind it, so all he did was look at her. I know it doesn't feel good, he thought in silence. But I'm doing the best I can. Little did he know that those thoughts transferred over to her, without his permission. But what he said was true. He was doing the best he could to take care of her, even if Serah didn't agree with some of his methods.

Light looked at Riku's hand on the edge of the bath--the one that he was using to help him keep his balance as he knelt beside her. She lifted one of her wet hands out of the bath and set it on his, weakly wrapping her fingers around it. "I know," she responded quietly. He was doing what he could to take the pain away.

Riku blinked in confusion at first, but after a moment, he understood. His eyes softened as he gazed at Lightning, dabbing at her forehead again. Her hand was freezing from the water, and she would surely be cold once she got out, but this was necessary. It had to work.

Light looked down at the water before her eyes flickered shut once more, the young woman at least momentarily forgetting what got her so overheated in the first place. But now that the silence was settling, she was recalling it all. Serah ticked her off by telling her to go back to Kain and leave Riku. She had no right to make that kind of call.

Riku continued his work with dabbing the ice cold water on Lightning's forehead, the rest of her body submerged. She had been in the bath for about five minutes now, and he would give it another five before he took her out. She already had her medicine and some soup, so once this was done, he would try to coax her to sleep. When she finally got some rest, Riku would worry about himself. She was more important than he was any day.

Lightning opened her blue eyes to Riku after what felt like an eternity, her boyfriend still faithfully cooling her face. "Can I get out now?" she asked quietly, nearly begging. It had only been five minutes, but she was feeling so frozen. Her face was still hot but her body was an ice block. Granted, it was great that her whole body wasn't on fire now, but this wasn't completely fixing the problem. It was making her more miserable than anything.

Riku easily deciphered the look in Lightning's eyes and decided that maybe another five minutes would be worse for her than better. "Yeah," he said with a faint nod, placing the rag on the edge of the tub as he grabbed a towel hanging nearby. He tucked his arms under Lightning's form, the skin of his arms freezing at the temperature of the water, but he didn't care. He simply focused on lifting Lightning out of the tub.

Lightning automatically wrapped both her arms around Riku when he lifted her out of the tub, and though her eyes were squeezed shut once more, she blankly realized that Riku never did put on a shirt in all this chaos. The bare skin of his chest was so warm compared to her frozen arms, and compared to the rest of her body, though her soaked clothes prevented her from feeling all of his warmth.
