Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

"But you're cold," Light mumbled once more. If she had any strength left in her, she would have pulled away from Riku so that he wasn't so chilled. And while his arms weren't smothering her, they weren't loose enough for her to slip out of. A part of her didn't want to leave his arms anyway, as selfish as it was. His warmth was too comforting for words.

"Lightning, honey, I'm fine," Riku assured the woman in his arms. He lowered his head and placed a kiss in her hair, holding the position. He wasn't letting her go. She just needed to accept that. Once she was asleep, and warm, Riku would let her go.

Light exhaled a sigh through her nose. Riku was more stubborn than she was right now, mostly because he had more energy than she did. As she tentatively lifted a hand and set it on Riku's back, her eyes fell shut once more. She wasn't going to fight him anymore. Instead, she'd just appreciate this gift he was giving her and rest like he wanted her to.

Lightning's hand was cold, but he didn't let it bother him. Instead, he kept his arms around her and her close to his chest. Despite what he said when he was drunk, and what Serah believed now, Lightning belonged in Riku's arms. Not Kain's. Kain may have been better for her in certain aspects, but...Riku was destined for her, just as she was destined for him. They were meant to be together.

Light fell asleep within minutes of silence. She was out for several hours, as she was earlier when she fell asleep on Riku's lap. Naturally the ice bath's effects didn't last forever, but at least when she woke up, she wasn't as hot as she had been earlier. Beside that, her head was pounding less than it had been earlier. It was a start, at least.

Riku had left Lightning in her bedroom to sleep, having tucked the blankets around her to make sure she was warm when he got up. Now he was in the kitchen making himself some food. He'd already gotten sick from the smell, but he knew he needed to get some food in his stomach, so he sucked it up and continued to cook. The hangover was something he deserved; he was a jerk from hell the night before.

Lightning sat up slowly, taking in the room. She was alone, but she wasn't terribly surprised. The world outside was starting to dim as they got closer to sunset, so she knew that she had been out for quite some time. She stood up with caution, her balance better than it had been before but still not quite up to par. Nevertheless, she started out towards the kitchen, keeping a hand against the wall as she walked so that she'd easily keep her balance.

Riku swallowed back the bile as he continued to cook his own soup, since Serah hadn't given him any earlier. Not that he minded, considering his appetite was gone before. Regardless, his stomach was empty and he needed fuel. His back to the rest of the kitchen, he stirred in silence. All he could be thankful for last night was that Sora and Kairi hadn't seen him like that. That would have been humiliating.

Lightning saw Riku in the kitchen and even from behind, she could tell that he was stirring something on the stove. She didn't have any words to say, so she simply approached him in silence. When she was behind him, she gently weaved her warmed arms around his stomach in an embrace, her cheek resting on his back in silent greeting.

Riku closed his eyes at the touch, his form relaxing now that Lightning was close. He took in the smell of roses rather than the soup, which had him calming further. "Nice to see you too," he greeted softly. He was happy that she wasn't so cold anymore, and that she wasn't burning up either. Her temperature was back to normal, or as close as it could get.

Lightning only hummed briefly, her eyes shutting as she placed her forehead against Riku's back. If she wasn't sick, she would have given him a kiss on his skin then, but she was awake enough to be considerate. A part of her had hoped that Riku also slept when she was napping, since he needed rest as well, but she was guessing he was awake.

Riku smiled at the hum, returning to his soup. He almost asked Lightning if she wanted any, but she ate not too long ago. He wouldn't suggest it for now. Instead, he just took in Lightning's presence. If things hadn't turned out in his favor, Lightning could have been this way with Kain. Just the realization had Riku wanting to get sick again.

Light stood behind Riku for a minute before she gently withdrew. As quietly as she appeared in the room, she left and went to the couch and laid down across its length. Despite feeling more alert now and less miserable, she still wasn't feeling good. She really hated being sick, and she hated she was hit so hard by this cold.

Riku finished cooking his soup and grabbed a bowl before joining Lightning in the living room. Just as he turned the television on, the doorbell rang. He furrowed his eyebrows at the sound but grabbed the door anyway. Who he saw upon opening it had him blinking in surprise. "Guys?" he grunted. What were they doing here?

Kairi smiled at Riku's expression, shrugging as she kept a hand on Sora's arm. "Surprise!" she sang softly. She and Sora were dressed warmly for the snow that hit Cocoon recently, but it wasn't so warm on the Islands either. Speaking of which, Riku had been gone a while. Kairi thought he said he'd only be at Lightning's for a little while a few days ago. That obviously changed.

Sora smirked, shrugging off Kairi's hand as he stepped inside so he could remove his coat. "Good to see you're still alive," he joked to his best friend. "You're good at disappearing, you know." Of course he and Kairi just assumed that Riku was here, because whenever he wasn't on the Islands, he was wherever Lightning was. That was obviously here, in her house.

"Um..." Riku stepped aside so Kairi could come in as well, and he rubbed the back of his neck. "Yeah. Sorry." He hadn't meant to "disappear," but after Snow's idea, it was just what happened. It wasn't the best idea, but it had him lingering here for a while.

"No big deal," Sora shrugged. "As long as you feed us some of what you were cooking." He could smell it all the way from the entry way and whatever it was, it smelled delicious. He had to admit that he was surprised by Riku's cooking abilities; he never would have guessed his friend was so good a few years ago.

"Yeah, sure," Riku said, lowering his arm to his side. He was still surprised that his friends were actually here. He hoped nothing slipped about the night before. "Soup's in the kitchen."

Kairi took off her boots, jacket already hung up. She looked Riku over, noticing that he wasn't wearing a shirt. She jokingly poked him in the abs, causing him to flinch. She laughed softly, pulling her hand back. "Sorry, Riku. Couldn't resist," she snickered. She took the opportunity to poke him whenever she could; the fact that he was ticklish was so weird. She never expected it, but it was always funny to see him react.

"Shirtless even in the winter, huh?" Sora prodded, finishing with his last boot as he took a step towards the kitchen. "'Course I don't care as long as I get the--" He saw Lightning come into the entryway at that moment, and he took no notice of her pink cheeks or any difference in posture. All that he noticed was the two bowls in her hands. "--food."

Lightning couldn't help but smirk at Sora's hungry stare. "I heard everything," she said, offering him one of the bowls. Upon hearing Sora and Kairi enter, she got up and poured some soup, since she knew Sora well enough to know that he'd want food.

Kairi turned her head away from Riku to see Lightning as well, to whom she smiled. "Aww, Lightning," she cooed. She didn't have to do that, especially when she looked so tired. Kairi wasn't as oblivious as Sora was, so she took note of her friend's state. Kairi briefly shared a look with Riku, who instantly glanced away. Well, that was her answer.

Lightning ignored the look shared between Kairi and Riku, and Sora was completely oblivious as he went to the living room to eat. "Riku made it, so it's edible," she said with a faint smile, holding out the bowl for Kairi to take. Light wasn't afraid to make fun of her own cooking skills, though she really was getting much better at it than before.

Kairi's eyes found Lightning again, and she gently took the bowl offered to her. "Thank you," she said softly. She smiled at the woman, but also at her joke. Kairi didn't know Riku was such a good cook until a little bit ago. Sora would certainly enjoy this, even if it wasn't why they came. Kairi looked between Riku and Lightning once more before she joined her husband in the living room to eat.

Lightning briefly looked past Riku to the door, this whole thing reminding her of Serah's scolding earlier. She scolded Lightning for taking care of others when she needed to take care of herself, and she knew that even though Riku didn't agree with what else Serah had to say, he definitely agreed with that. That was the reason why she didn't stick around long enough for him to scold her. After looking at the door for a few seconds, she turned around to go to the living room.

Riku watched Lightning go, not really knowing what to do. He guessed he could eat like he originally planned, even if his appetite was still lacking. But first, he went to Lightning's room and grabbed a shirt. He threw it on and then returned to the living room, grabbing his bowl and beginning to eat while everyone else talked softly amongst themselves.

The conversation had turned to playful bickering between husband and wife, so Lightning sat on the couch in silence. She didn't have anything to say, and anyway, Sora and Kairi were enough to keep anyone entertained. Even so, she was distracted. Lightning didn't have to hear from Riku that he didn't want Sora and Kairi hearing about his previous night. She felt like they had a right to know as his best friends, but if Riku wasn't going to tell, neither was she. It wasn't her place.
