Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

The next morning   Riku lingered in the living room as Lightning's guests talked on the sofas. It was the day after Sora and Kairi's wedding, and now that the event was over, everyone was heading ba

"Somehow," Lightning teased right back. She lowered her raised eyebrow, imagining that this was quite a sight for Sora and Kairi. What did it look like when people were having silent conversation? She never noticed it with Sora and Kairi, so she couldn't say for sure how it appeared.

Kairi's eyes danced between Riku and Lightning, failing to notice the fraction of a second that Riku's expression faltered. But she had an idea what was happening between the two. "...Are they communicating like we do?" she asked her husband, curious. They had to be.

Sora didn't bother responding to Kairi with words; his expression said it all. How would I know? He looked between the two one last time before he spoke up. "You two got the silent thing going on?" he asked. At least Riku knew what the silent thing was; it was how he and Kairi talked a lot of the time.

Riku blinked, aquamarine eyes finding Sora and Kairi. Their expressions backed up Sora's question. "...Yeah," he said with a faint nod, glancing at Lightning with a smile. "Since the festival." It was the strangest thing. Riku wasn't even sure how it happened. It just...did.

Light smiled weakly when Sora let out a response of "cool". It had been a while before she accepted that heart-talk was even possible because of her stubbornness, but Riku convinced her eventually. The thing was, he never answered the question that first triggered the whole thing, but she wasn't going to bring it up--especially not now.

"Oh, good. Now we'll have no idea when you two are making fun of us," Kairi said, lifting an eyebrow as she looked between the two. Most of the taunting would come from Riku, naturally, even if Lightning was capable of it as well.

Riku chuckled slightly, nodding. "That's right," he agreed. "But the same can go for you two." He was sure Sora poked fun at Riku's softer side multiple times when Riku was with Lightning. But that was okay. Riku didn't regret any of it.

"You'd know it if I was making fun of you," Sora piped with a smirk. "Kairi smacks me whenever I say or think anything bad." So whenever he tried to make fun of Riku, even just with her, she was quick to shut him up. She was as protective of her older brother as he was of her.

Riku looked to Kairi, only to see her shrug and blush with guilt. He only smiled, okay with her form of defense. It was better than him putting Sora in a headlock or throwing him in the water, and more acceptable. Sora would never retaliate against Kairi like he would Riku.

"Light, are you going to stand for this?" Sora asked, pleading for the ex-soldier's favor. She was on his side every now and then, sometimes out of pity, which he was more than okay with. "You know I don't mean any harm..."

"Don't worry, Sora," Lightning said, glancing over at Riku. "I'll give Riku the same treatment Kairi gives you." She already scolded Riku a few times for jokingly insulting Sora, so keeping that promise wouldn't be hard.

Riku rolled his eyes. "I guess someone has to keep me in line," he thought aloud, looking to the woman he loved. He hadn't forgotten how ill she was because his friends were here, but he wouldn't imply anything just yet. He wasn't even sure how long they were staying. It wasn't like he was complaining, though; he loved his family's company.

"Good luck, Light," Sora said with a smirk. "You're gonna need it." He paused for a moment, looking at her face and still failing to notice the abnormal hue. "On second thought...you'll be fine. You're more stubborn than he is sometimes." It was mostly a compliment that he gave; her stubbornness (at least what he saw of it) was often justified.

Sora's first statement had Riku's mind reeling. He had no idea that that was exactly what Riku told Kain after Lightning kissed the warrior. It brought back unpleasant memories and feelings, which impacted Riku's heart...and surely Lightning's. He covered it up with a faint smirk, though, shaking his head and closing his eyes. He would just let that go.

Lightning was confused about the feelings that impacted her heart--feelings of hurt. She briefly glanced over at Riku, but all she saw was the smirk. If those weren't his feelings that impacted her heart, then were they her own? Why'd she feel them? "Right," Lightning agreed after a moment, her gaze returning to Sora and Kairi. "No problem."

  • 2 weeks later...

While Sora joked with Riku and Lightning, Kairi found herself studying the both of them. Something was going on here. Something wasn't right. Riku was acting strange, and Lightning wasn't herself. She met Riku's gaze just then, and her eyes widened, to which she looked away. Drat, he'd caught her staring.

Lightning noticed even in her sickness that Kairi was acting different. Riku was different because he wasn't sitting next to Lightning, Lightning was off because she was sick, and she figured Kairi noticed the latter but not the former. As for Sora, he didn't notice anything at all--not even his wife staring at Riku for a whlie.

While Sora rambled on, Riku's eyebrows furrowed. He gazed at Kairi, who was now blatantly avoiding his eyes. "What?" he asked, surely interrupting Sora. What was Kairi just staring at?

Kairi glanced over at Riku, but upon seeing the look on his face, her eyes found a random object in the room. "N-nothing," she said, wincing slightly at her stutter. What could she say? Surely not the truth! It would only stir up trouble that nobody needed, and with the way things felt around Riku and Lightning, that assumption was definitely true.

Sora stopped talking when he was interrupted, finally noticing more going on in the room. Kairi's stutter and Riku's tone were both hints enough. "What's up?" he asked both of them, looking back and forth between the two. What did he miss? Why did Riku sound defensive, and why did Kairi sound...nervous?

"It's nothing," Kairi insisted, glancing from her husband to Riku and then finding the floor. Of course, she knew Riku wasn't going to let this go so easily. Why would he? She was obviously staring.

"Like I'm gonna buy that," Riku said, leaning forward in his seat slightly. "What was that look for? What were you staring at?" Why was Kairi looking at him with such...scrutiny? Could she see past his and Lightning's facade? No...Kairi wasn't that observant, was she?

Light knew that Riku was tense because of everything that happened in the past twenty-four hours, but she felt like he was making too much of this. "Riku," she said softly. "People stare off into space sometimes." It was a reminder of a simple fact, and her outputting her thoughts. Whether Kairi was just staring into space or not, there was no need to pick a fight.

Riku lifted a hand slightly, shaking his head as he glanced at Lightning. "No," he disagreed, eyes finding Kairi again. "No, she was clearly staring at me. So what is it?"

"Riku, stop--"

"Kairi, just say it," Riku ordered, voice rising slightly. He didn't have the patience for her beating around the bush. She just needed to tell him. Kairi stiffened slightly at his tone, but his sharp eyes remained against her. He wanted the truth. Now.

Lightning lifted a hand to her burning forehead in annoyance. "Riku, don't pick a fight," she scolded tiredly. "Just let it drop."

"No, Light," Sora disagreed, looking from her to Riku. Riku wasn't being kind with Kairi, and he wanted to know the reason why. Whenever anyone used the wrong tone of voice with her, he went from silly to serious in no time at all. "I want to hear what's going on."

Kairi gripped her jeans in nervousness, her fingers curling as she looked away from Riku's glare. "I just..." she tried, closing her eyes as she took in a breath. "Something's not right with you two." She turned her head and looked from Lightning to Riku, whose glare softened at the mention. "You're just...different."

Light lowered her hand from her forehead. So, Kairi noticed some tension between them after all. She shouldn't have been surprised. But just because of her connection to Riku's heart, she could tell he didn't want them knowing about his episode last night. "Sorry," she grimaced. "I'm sick today, that's all." Kairi could think that was the cause of everything for now.

Kairi caught Riku's expression when Lightning spoke, and she knew it was a cover story for something worse. It had to be. She knew Riku, and that look was one of relief, even if it was in Lightning's expense. "You're lying," she declared, her eyes sharpening considerably as she looked from Riku to Lightning. There was more than just Lightning being sick, wasn't there?

  • Author

Lightning didn't have the patience for this; she wasn't lying about being sick. And in her sickness, she figured that was what Kairi was accusing her of lying about. She lifted a hand and pointed at every item that she listed. "Thermometer. Ice pack. Soup. Blankets. This--" She waved her hand before her face, motioning to her rosy cheeks and general tiredness. Everything she pointed to, as well as her belief that Kairi didn't believe she was sick, was a testament to the truth. "I'm sick alright."
