Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

The next morning   Riku lingered in the living room as Lightning's guests talked on the sofas. It was the day after Sora and Kairi's wedding, and now that the event was over, everyone was heading ba

Riku looked from Lightning to Kairi at the explanation, however blunt it was. Kairi seemed to sense that, and he grew uneasy when he saw Kairi's eyebrows furrow. Kairi hated it when people got smart with her, and he knew what was to come.

"I didn't mean that," Kairi said, then rising from her seat. "So don't get an attitude with me, Lightning. Sick or not, that doesn't give you any reason to be rude. And you." She pointed to Riku, taking a few steps over to stand near his seat. "What's with you? Your girlfriend might be sick, but you're acting like you did when the two of you broke--" She stopped herself short, bringing a hand to her mouth. Riku glared at her pointedly at this, and Kairi's eyes widened. Uh-oh.

Over the span of Kairi's rant, Lightning's face went from flushed to burning red to pale. It initially turned red because she was sick to the point that she did feel she had a right to have attitude. Kairi was the second person to try and pick a fight with her today and she was taking out that anger on her. She did deserve it, especially with that last comment she made. Riku was acting like they were broken up. We're not broken up, are we?

Riku looked up at Kairi, his body still as his jaw flexed. "...You're done talking," he growled. He didn't want to hear anything more. Kairi's last comment had his gut turning, and that was a bad sensation with the alcohol that still lingered in his system. A headache had been bothering him all day, and Kairi definitely wasn't helping things.

Now Sora was on his feet. He noticed the expression of anger on Riku's face, the deer-in-the-headlights look on Lightning's, and the intimidated look on Kairi's. "Easy," he said, mainly to Riku and to Kairi. The next sentence, though was directed at Riku. "You know better than to return fire with fire." Yeah, Kairi may have started this--Sora couldn't say his wife was innocent in this situation. But even with her being responsible for this, Riku didn't need to talk or look at her like that.

Riku looked from Sora to Kairi, seeing how taken aback she was by his most recent outburst. He lifted a hand and pinched the bridge of his nose. "You guys..." he softly begged. He really didn't want to get into this. The memories were coming back, and they hurt. Bad.

Sora looked at all three of his friends, though he couldn't see Lightning's face as well because she was turning herself away from the scene. "What is up with you two?" he asked, genuine confusion behind his voice. He wasn't bringing this up to spite anyone and he wasn't trying to start an argument; he really just wanted to know what the heck was going on here.

"Nothing," Riku replied, almost too quickly. He rose to his feet then, having enough room to do so even with Kairi so close. "You guys should go."

"What?" Kairi shook her head, at the same time leaving her intimidation behind. She was getting to the bottom of this. "No. No, we're not leaving until we know what's going on, Riku." He was her brother. He was family. She wasn't leaving him when something was clearly wrong.

Though Lightning should have known not to speak to Kairi when she was like this, her instinct was to defend Riku. "Kairi," she said, looking over at her with cheeks that were once again unnaturally pink. "Leave it alone." Leave him alone. He'd tell them the truth when he was ready to. Interrogating him now, with Lightning in the room, was only going to cause more pain for all of them.

Kairi looked over at Lightning, frowning at her interference. But that was when she caught something in Lightning's tone, and in her eyes. "...It's you guys, isn't it?" she asked, eyes widening slightly. She then looked to Riku, who was avoiding looking her in the eye. "You guys were fine the other day on the Islands." It had to be something that happened last night, right? It had to be!

"Obviously it's us," Lightning snapped tiredly. "Why else do you think Riku would get so angry when you talk about us acting like we're broken up unless something happened?" Here was her attitude again, and once more, she thought that she was justified in it. "But whatever happened, you don't need to know the specifics." Maybe eventually, but not at this moment. At this moment, Kairi needed to back off.

"Riku is family," Kairi hissed at the attitude, bringing up her own. "He's my brother. Clearly whatever drama you guys had is eating away at him, so excuse me for being a little concerned." Her hands curled into fists, an unnatural position for Kairi. "If I want the specifics, I'll get them. Riku would do the same thing." She then looked up to her best friend, who was still avoiding her gaze. "Now answer the question before I really lose my temper. What's going on?"

"You ever think that maybe he's not ready to talk about it?" Lightning hissed right back. Whether her comments were welcome or not, she was going to say them. "You think that maybe he needs time more than you need the truth? Let him talk to you when he wants to talk to you." Kairi said that she was going to lose her temper soon, but Lightning was already losing hers. She rarely lost it completely, and even now she had a grasp on it, but in her sickness, she was being harsher than usual with Kairi.

Kairi closed her eyes, and when she opened them to see Riku about to protest, she lifted a hand to stop him. She then turned her eyes to Lightning. "I'm not afraid of you, you know," she declared lowly, ignoring the fact that her brother and husband were here to witness her wrath. She hadn't been this angry in a long time. "You don't scare me. Your attitude is only setting me off, not keeping me quiet. So before you throw questions about my place in this situation, maybe you should question yours. Maybe you're the problem, ever think of that?"

"That's enough!" Riku snapped instantly. He couldn't take this, his sister and the woman he loved going at each other's throats. It upset him, couldn't they see that?

Lightning's expression changed halfway through the speech. At first she felt her anger rising. She was used to people being afraid of her. And their fears were justified. She would go to extreme means to accomplish her goals, and in this case, she was willing to go far to protect Riku. She would have argued against Kairi's point, but two things stopped her: Riku's outburst and Kairi's last words. I'm the problem? What? How? The expression that she wore wasn't angry so much as it was hurt now, and she didn't display her hurt often to people like Kairi.

Riku glanced over in time to see Lightning's expression of hurt, which sent his heart reeling. This had gotten out of hand. "Maybe...I should just tell them, okay?" he said, speaking to the woman he loved as Kairi silently fumed in front of him. Kairi was angry for his sake, and so was Lightning, but this couldn't keep going. He had to end it here.

Lightning covered her expression of hurt so that nobody else could see it. "You tell her when you're ready to tell her," she said. "And not a moment sooner." Kairi may have been demanding an immediate answer, but Riku had the right to tell her no. And as for Sora, he seemed to understand where Lightning was coming from, since he wasn't pressuring Riku. Then again, he didn't need to, since Kairi was being so aggressive.

Kairi blinked in shock, then looking to her best friend. "Since when did she start speaking for you?" she asked, appalled. Riku would never let anyone speak for him, even if he was romantically involved with them. What was going on?

"Would you two just cut it out?" Riku snapped in annoyance, impatient. He couldn't take this mindless bickering anymore. He looked from Lightning to Kairi, who stared up at him in expectancy. He then gazed at Sora, who had been silent throughout this whole thing. Maybe it was time to just cut to the chase and spill. If he didn't do it now, Kairi would refuse to leave. While he loved her protectiveness, sometimes he wished it wasn't so strong. But there was no changing Kairi, ever.

Lightning looked at Riku, her eyes serious and narrow. "I'm not doing anything wrong!" she silently claimed. Riku was scolding both of them, but Lightning was only standing up for Riku. She didn't regret a single thing she said in this conversation, so she didn't understand what Riku was scolding her for when she was simply trying to protect him. It was Kairi who was in the wrong, not her.

Riku's eyes found Lightning at the exclamation, and he lifted his hand slightly in her direction. Lightning, please, he thought. This was stressful enough. He gazed at her for another moment, pain flashing in his eyes as he remembered last night. This was going to hurt, speaking it aloud, but...at this point, there was no avoiding it. Riku lowered his hand, his gaze dropping to the floor as he avoided Sora and Kairi's eyes. "...I got drunk last night," he revealed finally. "Really drunk."

Light lifted a hand to her forehead and shut her eyes while Sora's eyes widened. She wasn't happy with Riku for multiple reasons now, but then again, she wasn't really happy with anyone. Kairi forced them all into an awkward position and Sora didn't stop her. And Riku should have just refused to talk about it instead of letting Kairi order him around. She remained tense, knowing that the rest of this story wasn't going to be pleasant.

"Snow took me out last night for my birthday," Riku began to explain, deciding an elaboration would be best. "It was fun, it was, but...things got out of hand after a while." He closed his eyes and rubbed his temple. "Some girl in the bar flirted with me most of the night, and when Lightning came, I yelled at her about Kain." He could sense Kairi's anger grow at the reminder; his friends knew of Lightning's kiss with Kain, the one that still pulled at Riku's heartstrings. He swallowed at the memory, continuing as he finally met his friends' eyes. "I wanted revenge. I found the girl who was flirting with me and made out with her...right in front of Lightning."

Lightning swallowed back a wince. She refused to look up at Sora, Kairi, or Riku even though her eyes were now open. She only stared at her knees, her legs pulled up in front of her as if to shield her from further hurt. Obviously it was a poor defense strategy; it was Riku's words that were causing the hurt now. And she was predicting further pain. Somehow, Kairi was going to pin this on her; she could just feel it.

Kairi's eyes no longer held anger. Instead, they were wide with shock and fear. "...You did what?" she whispered. No...Riku couldn't have done something so heartless. He couldn't have done something as stupid and inconsiderate and terrible as that. He wasn't that kind of person...

Sora was just as surprised as Kairi was, though he couldn't find the words to express it. He looked from Riku to Lightning and then back to his best friend again. Riku made out with a girl for revenge? But he thought Lightning apologized for kissing Kain and Riku forgave her. He supposed that wasn't the case if Riku kissed another girl like that.

"It was stupid and cruel and..." Riku turned his gaze to the woman he loved. "...I feel horrible about it. If I could take it back, I would." He never wanted to hurt Lightning like that, ever, but he did. He couldn't take it back, though, and that was one of the worst parts of this reality.

Kairi lowered her gaze to Riku's chest, staring at it in shock. Riku kissed another girl? No, he made out with another girl in front of Lightning? He may have felt bad about it, and he may have been drunk when it happened, but that was no excuse. Riku was...horrible.
