Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Lightning refused to look at Riku when he spoke, even though he looked over at her. She knew that he regretted it, but she still wasn't over it. It may have just been a drunken kiss, but it was enough to make her feel like she was stabbed right in the heart. They made things okay quickly because they needed to, but the pain of last night was still there, waiting to creep to the forefront of her heart and mind. And now here it was again because Kairi forced him to bring up the topic.

Riku felt Lightning's pain in his heart, which made him grind his teeth together. He looked back to Sora and Kairi, the latter of which who wasn't meeting his gaze. "That's what's wrong," he declared. That was the other problem, other than Lightning being sick. Now they knew.

Sora scratched the side of his head. He didn't really know what to say. Riku was right in saying that it was wrong, and he obviously regretted what he did, but that didn't change what happened last night. No wonder Riku and Lightning were so tense and awkward. He may not have noticed it earlier, but looking back, he could see signs that things weren't right.

Kairi looked up at Riku after another moment of letting this information sink in. Now that it did, she was beyond angry; she was furious. Her hands curled into fists as she tried to fight her anger, but it was no use. She lifted her hand and slapped Riku across the face, a loud smack resounding around the room. Her adrenaline masked the pain against her palm, but all she could do was glare at Riku in disgust. How could he? How could he be so stupid?

Lightning looked up with wide eyes when she heard the slap. She hadn't expected Kairi to slap Riku, though that was clearly what happened when she wasn't looking over. She looked from Riku to Kairi, not caring that Sora was doing the exact same thing in stunned silence. Light had no clue what to expect next.

Riku's face had turned with the slap, and he closed his eyes at the stinging against his cheek. Not once had Kairi ever slapped him before, and now...well, the feeling wasn't too great. He faced her again and lifted a hand to rub his cheek, seeing her violet-blue eyes alight with fury.

"...How could you?" Kairi asked, breathless. She was in shock that she had been so bold as to smack Riku, at first regretting it, but now, she was glad she did. "How could you be so stupid?!" Drunk or not, Riku wanted revenge. It was only when he was drunk that he had the guts to actually go through with it.

Kairi, don't, Light wanted to say, looking at the redhead. She knew that Kairi was angry, and so was Lightning, but Riku was feeling bad enough as it was. There was no need to rub salt in the wound, whether he deserved it or not.

Kairi shook her head, tisking in disgust. "You were in the wrong this entire time, and you let me scream at Lightning like it was her fault?" she asked, her eyes on Riku's aquamarine. He didn't speak, and she was glad. If she heard one of his excuses, she may have slapped him again. "Why did she even stand up for you? After you...betrayed her?"

"Kairi, enough," Lightning said, pinching the bridge of her nose as Riku often did when he was fighting a headache. She knew that she shouldn't have been sticking up for Riku after all that he did, but she was doing it anyway, and she would keep doing it, whether Kairi understood why or not. He was already in pain; there was no need to make it worse.

Kairi ignored Lightning for the moment, instead gazing at her best friend. "...I know you weren't in your right mind," she stated, voice softer. "And I know that you regret it, but that doesn't mean that you didn't mean anything with what you did. Alcohol changed you, Riku. Even if I wasn't there to see it, I'm glad I didn't. I probably wouldn't have recognized you." She caught the hurt in his eyes, which caused her eyes to fall downcast. She was so disappointed in him. "...I thought you were better than that, Riku."

Sora looked from Kairi to Riku to Lightning, and then back to his wife again. "...I think that's enough, Kairi," he silently conveyed. "You're hurting Lightning too." She obviously didn't like reliving the experiences of the past night. Though she was trying to keep her expression guarded, Sora was learning to see past the mask. Every insult that Kairi hurled at Riku hurt Lightning as well.

Kairi listened to Sora, glancing back at him at the words. She then looked to Lightning, eyes sad. "...I'm sorry," she apologized softly. She wasn't happy with Lightning for what she did to Riku with Kain, and now she was upset with Riku for what he did to Lightning with some girl. Someone may have called them even, but...it didn't seem right to dismiss it so easily.

Lightning didn't bother responding. She didn't even look up at Kairi when he spoke to her. There wasn't anything left to say. She tried to stop this situation from ever arising but Kairi was too stubborn to take the hints and let it drop. Lightning was trying to save Riku from pain, but she was also trying to save herself, and Sora and Kairi. In their case, ignorance was bliss. She didn't have the luxury of being ignorant.

Kairi looked to Riku then, seeing the hurt in his posture. "...Riku," she said, attracting his attention. His aquamarine eyes, ones she had admired for their sincerity over the years, were covered in sadness. Sadness she caused. "...I think it'd be best if you went back to the Islands with us."

"What?" Riku blinked. Go back to the Islands? No way. He wasn't leaving Lightning, not after all he'd done. He couldn't.

  • Author

"What?" Lightning and Sora said at the same time. They both looked at each other with the shared word, but then their eyes darted to Kairi. What did she mean, Riku should go back to the Islands with them? Yeah, he caused a great deal of pain but they got past it earlier somehow. They could do it again and they'd be okay. Or would they? Was this too big now? Were they...over?

"I think you need to go home," Kairi repeated gently, hearing and seeing the others' reactions. "To get your head on straight." She doubted it would be easy to overcome his thoughts with Lightning around. Wouldn't he be reminded of his mistake all the time? Maybe he needed to come to terms with it before facing Lightning again...

"No," Riku said, shaking his head. He wasn't going anywhere. This is my home. She's my home, he wanted to say, unaware that the words transferred to the heart connected to his. How could he just leave Lightning, especially after this?

  • Author

Lightning looked over at Riku when she heard the silent words. That was enough to convince her to speak, and to speak with anger. She rose to her feet, ignoring her lightheadedness as she looked at Kairi. "You scolded me earlier for speaking for him," she said to the redhead. "What do you think you're doing now?" She wasn't asking him to go home; she was telling him to. And Lightning wasn't going to let Kairi be a hypocrite.

Kairi met Lightning's gaze evenly, not threatened by her anger. "...It was a suggestion," she replied calmly. Maybe a part of her was ordering it of Riku, but she didn't mean for it to come off that way. It really was a suggestion, one she believed he should follow.

  • Author

Lightning simply scoffed. Yeah, that was a suggestion. And she was a purple elephant. But she knew that Riku didn't want her getting into a fight with Kairi, and as angry as she was, her body wasn't going to keep up. She tilted slightly to the side but caught herself by placing a hand on the back of the couch, unwilling to let herself fall down and be vulnerable in front of Kairi again.

Kairi frowned at the scoff, but she returned her attention to Riku. "...From an outside perspective," she started, "I think it'd be best if you just went home. To the Islands. Everything that happened yesterday between you two and what happened today... I just think you need to come to terms with it all, privately." She didn't want Riku's opinions being influenced by Lightning--her opinions or her presence in general. Riku deserved pain after what he did, but...she still didn't want him to suffer for long. Kairi believed that staying with Lightning would only lengthen that suffering.

Lightning pushed herself upright again and folded her arms over her chest, looking away from anyone in the room. She didn't have the words to say. It still felt like Kairi was trying to impose her opinion of what was right on Riku and not let him decide on his own. And besides, it sounded like she was only concerned about how Riku could cope with the situation, not Lightning. It seemed like she didn't care about the latter at all, and that surprisingly hurt more than she thought it would.

"...No," Riku said again, defiance in his voice. He wouldn't listen to Kairi, not this time. Not after the slap to the face. He may have deserved that, but...he was going to stick to his own decision. "She's sick and we're both vulnerable right now. I'm not leaving her alone." Riku wouldn't do that, not again. He left Lightning with Kain when she was vulnerable, and he ruined her. He wasn't making that mistake again. "Go without me. I'm staying here."

  • Author

Sora initially didn't understand why Kairi was saying Riku should come home with them, but he was beginning to understand. He wasn't really having a chance to cope with the situation while he was here taking care of Lightning. "...Are you sure?" he asked then. "One of us can stay and take care of Light if that's what you're worried about." He would gladly do it.

Riku hated all of this. Every suggestion and question that came his way had him wanting to pull his hair out. He turned his attention to the woman he loved, aquamarine eyes on her. "...What do you want?" he asked her lowly. Did she want him to stay, or did she want him to go?

Lightning glanced at Riku and then at the floor. Whatever she said she wanted was what Riku was going to do, and the moment she said something, Kairi was going to scold her for speaking for Riku. She wished he hadn't put her in this position, but there was no way out of it now. "I would like you to stay," she said quietly after a few moments. Separation wasn't going to help either of them; they'd both just mope on their own.
