Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

The next morning   Riku lingered in the living room as Lightning's guests talked on the sofas. It was the day after Sora and Kairi's wedding, and now that the event was over, everyone was heading ba

Light smirked slightly at Riku's expression. He was getting his mind of out of the darkness and becoming less depressed. "Good boy," she praised quietly, loosening her hold on his shoulder as she took her hand away. There weren't any more words she could think to say to help him. At least she felt like what she said did some good.

Riku felt one corner of his lips turn up at the praise, but he used his grasp on Lightning's hand to pull her to his chest. He then wrapped his arms around her, his hold secure, tight. She was his strength. That had always been the case, but he recognized it again right now. Lightning had his back, even when she shouldn't have. That was love.

Claire was low on physical strength that day because of being sick, so when Riku pulled her to him, it took less strength than usual. But the might he used was the same as always, so she just about crashed into his chest instead of simply being pulled into an embrace. Her eyes widened slightly when Riku held most of her weight, but she sensed no danger of falling, so she shut her eyes and allowed her sick body to rest in his arms.

Riku's hands pressed into Lightning's back, the young man not wanting to let go. He was twenty-one and hopelessly in love. She may have been older, but what did age matter? He loved her, and she loved him, and that was it. End of story. Right now, all they needed was each other. That was why he stayed. That was why he refused to leave. Separating at a time like this was unhealthy.

Light wrapped her arms around Riku slowly, allowing him to hold her and keep her on her feet. Even without words, she could feel his spirit rising again. As many times as he fixed her, this time, she was helping him heal. Her words were true; both of them had equal status in this relationship.

Riku lifted one of his hands to cup the back of Lightning's head, his fingers settling into her pink hair. He just took in the feeling of her in his arms, not knowing what to say or what else to do but hold her. All he needed right now was her. After all he'd done, all he needed was the one person he pushed away.

Light rested her head on Riku's shoulder, certain that he was wrapped up in his own thoughts enough not to notice her obvious fatigue or consider her sickness. That was okay, but unfortunately, she needed to bring it up. "...Can we sit?" she asked quietly. "Or lay down or just...not stand?" She didn't care what they were doing just as long as she wasn't on her feet anymore. She still felt very sick.

Riku opened his eyes at the words, stiffening slightly. "Oh, yeah... Sure," he said, pulling back. Taking in Lightning's posture, he realized that he was supporting most of her weight. With that in mind, he helped her to the couch they were beside. Whatever she needed, he would get.

Sorry, Light silently apologized, though she didn't actually say the word to Riku as she lowered herself to the couch cushion. She felt bad for ruining the moment, but she wasn't good enough to stay on her feet just yet. The arguments with Serah set Lightning off earlier and made her feel worse, and the argument with Kairi was doing the same, though it wasn't to the same extent. Riku took more damage in this fight than Lightning did, so she didn't let herself dwell in her emotions and instead focused on taking care of Riku. Even so, she felt lousy physically.

Riku sat down beside Lightning, resting a hand on her shoulder as he looked her over. "...Do you need anything?" he asked softly. Water? Food? A blanket? After what she just said to lift his spirits, after how she made him feel, he was even more devoted to her than before.

Lightning lowered her gaze to the icepack on the coffee table. "A new icepack?" she requested quietly. She was feeling very fevered again and all she wanted to do was find a way to cool down. On the bright side, at least she knew this fever wasn't extreme enough for an ice-bath now. She felt like her fever lowered since that point.

Riku nodded slightly before rising to his feet. He grabbed the ice pack on his way to the kitchen, and once he was there, he put the one in his hand back in the freezer and grabbed another that was cold enough. Once he had it, he ventured back into the living room and took his seat beside Lightning. Wordlessly, he placed it against her forehead for her, holding it there in silence.

Lightning subconsciously looked down towards the couch when the ice pack was placed against her forehead, the cooling sensation comforting and relieving. She exhaled a quiet breath through her nose before slowly lifting her eyes to Riku, an expression of gratitude written on her face.

Riku smiled ever so slightly upon reading Lightning's expression. He nodded faintly to her in recognition. After all the drama he'd caused, this was the least he could do. Besides, if things went well for him and Lightning, farther than marriage, he had a feeling he would do a lot of comforting in the future. If Lightning ever got pregnant, he wasn't sure how she would handle it. Or how he would handle it. It was a future he never thought about, until now.

Light slowly scooted over closer to Riku, careful not to make his hand and ice pack move too far off her forehead. She tucked herself under one of his arms and leaned her head on his chest, her eyes flickering shut as she settled in. I hope I don't get you sick, she thought, unaware that the words transferred to Riku.

Riku smiled faintly in amusement, despite the situation. He wrapped his free arm around Lightning's shoulders and kept her close, though he did keep the ice pack to her forehead. "I'll be fine," he told her lowly, speaking aloud. He wasn't worried about getting sick; his immune system was pretty strong.

Light's lips turned up slightly at the comment. Unlike the first time her heart spoke without permission, she now understood the dynamics of it and how sometimes the heart spoke without permission. "If you don't turn out to be fine, I'll kick your butt," she murmured affectionately. And she'd take care of him, too. How couldn't she, with how well he was taking care of her?

Riku chuckled softly. "Wouldn't be the first time," he mumbled, turning his head to kiss Lightning's pink head of hair. He remembered how Lightning put him in a headlock once, in his parents' house. That had bruised his ego a bit, but he knew it had been out of love. And his parents hadn't seen it happen.

Light's smirk remained. "Kicking your butt is one of my favorite pastimes," she mused, wrapping an arm around his waist as her eyes fell shut. Of course she was joking; she enjoyed giving Riku a hard time, but hurting him was only fun if she was bringing down his sometimes-too-big ego. Giving him a level head was a gift that was worth giving even if it did involve some level of pain.

"And so is bruising my ego," Riku replied, adjusting his hold on the ice pack. "Those two things go hand-in-hand." Whenever Lightning kicked his butt, she often hurt his ego a bit. But sometimes he was too prideful, and she helped him turn it down a notch. Of course, she was the only one he would let do that. Anyone else, and he would have been angry at the intrusion.

"Mhm," Light hummed, giving Riku a gentle squeeze. "Both are fun." She remembered when they were broken up for a little while and he forced himself into the Guardian Corps so that he'd be closer to her. She was in charge of him and he realized that being a soldier wasn't all fun and games and that it wasn't all easy, even for someone who fought across worlds.

Riku rested his chin atop Lightning's head. "Glad you find enjoyment in my humiliation," he whispered gently, closing his eyes. He had a level head most of the time, but Lightning always calmed him down somehow. It was what she was good at. Then again, she was his soulmate. She balanced him out, and he did the same for her.

"Yeah, well," Light whispered back. "Need entertainment somehow. You're boring." Of course, Riku was the opposite of boring. While he may not have been the most creative person with planning things, every "dull" moment with him was still a moment that she enjoyed.

Riku would have rolled his eyes if they were open. "That ice bath was far from boring," he said in his defense, trying to make light of a particularly ugly situation. The ice bath had been necessary. While it wasn't great, it did what it was supposed to.

Lightning grimaced at the mention of the ice bath. She knew Riku was trying to make light of it and joke, but that wasn't far enough behind them yet to joke about. "Careful," she said quietly, voice more serious. "I may need another before the day is over." She was improving, but not as quickly as she wanted to. She wondered what her fever was, but she wasn't going to move out of this comfortable position to find out.
