Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

The next morning   Riku lingered in the living room as Lightning's guests talked on the sofas. It was the day after Sora and Kairi's wedding, and now that the event was over, everyone was heading ba

"No, it is," Kairi said, stopping completely and placing her hands against the counter. "You're important to Riku. I should have respected you more because of that, and because you're family." Kairi closed her eyes. "I'm just...protective of Riku, that's all. He was heartbroken over you two splitting up, and I'm sure you were too, but... He's my brother. I just got really defensive for his sake."

Lightning nodded slightly, continuing to look down at her work as she kept her hands busy. "I know," she said. "He was vulnerable and you wanted to protect him." But that was what Lightning had been doing at the same time. All the same, something about Kairi's words was bothering her. She said that she should respect Lightning because she was important to Riku. Did Kairi only care about Lightning because Riku cared, or did she actually care about Lightning as an individual?

"I'm really sorry," Kairi said again, turning her head to look at the young woman beside her. "You weren't wrong about anything. I was. I yelled at you because I thought it was your fault, but you were the victim the entire time. I shouldn't have pushed it. I should've listened to you and let Riku tell me when he was ready." She bit her lip, nervous as she continued talking. She had to get this off her chest and let Lightning know the truth. "Lightning...you're already family, but...one of these days you're officially going to be a part of our family. Riku's my brother, and you'll be my sister-in-law. You'll be my sister, and I don't want us to be so...distant, you know? I want us to be really good friends."

Lightning stopped fiddling with the potato in her grasp and simply stared at it. She really wasn't good with heart-to-heart talks, so it was natural for her to keep her eyes down while she listened and thought. I think I was wrong, she realized in the silence. Riku may have been how they were connected at first, but Kairi wanted a deeper connection with her personally. And Lightning...She wanted a big family. "You're a lot like Serah," she said randomly. She began to smirk as she set the potato on the counter. "She can be stubborn and hardheaded too. But she's as loyal as anything, and she's got a strong heart and a good head on her shoulders." She finally looked over at Kairi, meeting her eyes. "She's a good sister. I'm sure you will be too."

Kairi smiled instantly, her worries melting away at Lightning's words. Lightning just compared her to a blood relative, someone she was extremely close to. That meant a lot to Kairi, and it flattered her. She and Lightning didn't have a lot of time to bond lately, mostly because they were either fending off Darkness or not on the same world. And now it was because of a misunderstanding. But more moments like these, something as simple as cooking in the kitchen, would help them get closer. Riku would be really happy with it, but so would Kairi.

Light's smirk turned into a more genuine smile at Kairi's expression. Yeah, she's like Serah, she assured herself. Serah had worn that same type of expression when Lightning forgave her for her outburst the same day Kairi yelled at her. Somehow, seeing Kairi as a person like Serah helped break down some walls that she didn't realize were up in the first place. "She likes cooking like you do," she said, going back to her potatoes since they only had a few hours before the meal. "And she's obsessed with cats." Kairi didn't seem like she was that much of a cat person, but Lightning could have been wrong.

"Cats are cute, but I prefer dogs," Kairi said, seeing that Lightning was making small-talk now, which she appreciated. It alleviated some tension. She went back to the corn, talking all the while. "I do have a soft spot for them though, mostly because Sora's adorable when he's a lion." He was the cutest feline ever.

Lightning hummed at the words. She never saw Sora as a lion, and even if she did, she was sure she wouldn't call him cute. "Dogs are good," she said, going back to the first statement. "I'd like one or two when I'm settled down." Hopefully one of those dogs would be Jasmine. She was always a good and faithful dog, even in the future that Lightning saw with the dog alive and kicking.

Kairi found an opportunity to bring up a special subject. "...Settled down with Riku?" she asked, smiling faintly to herself as she pulled the sleeves off the corn some more. When Lightning said settled down, she had to have meant marriage, right? Riku wanted to propose. He'd already run ideas by Sora and Kairi, but that was a few months ago. She had been hoping they would be engaged by now, but more recent events obviously kept that from happening.

Lightning shouldn't have been shy about the topic; she did lead herself right into it with her comments about settling down. Just think of her like Serah, she reminded herself. Treat her like you'd treat Serah. If this was Serah here, Lightning knew how she'd react. She'd be genuine and blunt at the same time, because Serah would need to see that Lightning was confident enough and emotionally open enough to state the truth plainly. "Yeah," she said, keeping her voice quiet simply because Riku was in the next room over. "With Riku."

Kairi had been expecting that answer, but hearing it, she stopped what she was doing. With Riku. She said with Riku, she thought silently, glee building up inside her. Kairi instantly squealed, having dropped her corn on the counter as she jumped a little in place. It's going to happen. She's going to say yes!

Lightning's eyes widened with Kairi's spastic actions, her work being forgotten for the moment. "Kairi!" she scolded, cheeks beginning to turn red in nervousness. With this kind of a ruckus, Riku was sure to come in to check on them. The last thing that Lightning wanted right now was for Riku to walk in on this conversation.

Kairi stopped, eyes wide as she put her hands to her mouth. "Sorry! I'm sorry!" she whispered in her excitement, lowering her hands as she continued to smile. "It's just so--" She cleared her throat, smile vanishing. "Nevermind. I'll be quiet now. Sorry." She then busied herself with the corn again, thankful that Riku hadn't walked in. That would have been awkward.

It was Sora that stuck his head in through the doorway, not Riku. "I thought you two must have been stomping out a fire just now," he teased. He didn't know what just happened, but he heard so much stomping around that he came to check on it. "But I see nothing's on fire yet." He hoped it would stay that way.

Kairi whirled around, fighting the guilt that wanted to show. "Only when you're cooking, sweetie," she said, smiling teasingly. That had happened once, and without her supervision. Until Sora mastered a certain meal, she didn't let him cook in the kitchen alone. But...she was just covering up their recent conversation. That couldn't leave the kitchen.

"I set that food on fire on purpose," Sora said in his own defense. "I thought it was one of those...flambe things that people do in famous restaurants." He didn't even fully understand what he was referring to, but he was just making conversation, and keeping the focus of Lightning, since she seemed to be blushing for some reason.

"Yeah sure," Kairi said in disbelief, tilting her head slightly. "Now go back to your game. We've got work to do." This conversation would continue, maybe. Lightning seemed to be too shy to continue, from what Kairi could gather. That was alright. Kairi was more than satisfied with what she heard already.

"That hurts, Kai," Sora said, placing a hand to his heart as he backed away. "That hurts..." Of course he was just teasing, and in fact, he raced back to the couch before Kairi could regret her decision and call him back into the kitchen. He jumped over the back of the couch and plopped down next to Riku, the couch squeaking underneath his form. "We're all good," he said to his best friend. "No fire."

"Good," Riku said, glancing over at Sora. "The last time she squealed like that was in the haunted house. She was freaked." It was hilarious all the same, but he was glad that nothing bad happened. If that was the case, though, why did Kairi do that? Was she excited about something? That was the only conclusion he could come to if she wasn't scared.

"She wasn't the only person freaked out from what I remember," Sora smirked. "Serah and Snow got Light good. I never saw her like that before." Lightning was normally very composed and in control, and more than anything, she never let her confusion show. That night in the haunted house, she was very confused and alarmed.

"Serah dead is never a good picture," Riku reminded Sora, looking over at him as he thought of Valhalla. That had been...awful. "But it was all for fun. She realized that after the initial shock of it all." To Lightning it was probably a cruel joke, but Riku saw it coming. He spotted Snow early enough to know. It was funny then and now.

"Yeah, it seemed like she got over it," Sora agreed. "Just remind me not to make a joke like that. I don't really want Light at my throat like she was at Snow's." Actually, that wouldn't be a problem, considering Sora worked hard to stay on Lightning's good side. "Scaring Kairi's more fun anyway."

Riku chuckled in agreement, his eyes on the television. "It's too easy," he said then. Scaring Kairi was easy if they planned it right, but it could take something as small as them jumping around the corner to get her to scream. It was hilarious, even if they did receive punches and slaps to the arm in return.

"Easy to do, and easy to regret," Sora said sheepishly. "She can kind of give you the cold shoulder if you scare her too much..." That certainly wasn't pleasant to experience, especially when you had to live with the person who was ignoring you.

"And yet she still falls for the haunted house trick every year," Riku said, smirking as he watched the game. Kairi was always willing to please them, since she had a good heart and loved them so much. Riku and Sora always put her through torment, but it was kind of a bit of tough love. It didn't happen, but when it did, she fell for it.
