Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

"She knows that if we scare her then, we won't scare her so much the rest of the year." Sora sighed, leaning back into the couch as his eyes settled on the television. "She's figured us out, man." Sora wasn't too upset by that since he wasn't really the mysterious type, but Riku was more prone to be that way.

"She's family," Riku replied with the same crooked smile. He looked over at his best friend, shrugging. "It was bound to happen sometime." And right now, Riku was sure she was figuring out Lightning too. Kairi always had hidden motives behind her ideas, however innocent they were.

"Yeah, guess so," Sora agreed. Coincidentally, his mind went the same place Riku's was at. "Guess since she's unraveled us, she's onto Light." Riku may have been mysterious, but he was nothing compared to Lightning. Figuring her out was going to take Kairi quite some time, and Sora too, once he had the pleasure of knowing her better.

Riku glanced down at the space separating him and Sora, releasing a small "hmph." He lifted a hand and rubbed it through his short silver hair, eyes finding the television once more. "If that squeal was anything to go by, she's doing a good job." Kairi would probably get there easier than others. She was a genuine, sincere girl. A lot like Serah. Lightning would warm up to her easily, Riku was sure.

Later That Evening

It was late by the time Lightning and Riku returned to Cocoon. The meal with Sora, Kairi, and all their other friends and family connections turned out to go very well. The food was somehow unharmed by Lightning and the company was good enough. Once she started viewing Kairi like Serah, it helped form a new bond. For the first time, she felt like she had the big family she always wanted. Even so, social gatherings were exhausting. Riku decided to touch-down on the beach so that they could walk back to her house while listening to the ocean waves, but Light had a different idea. She told Riku to pick her up and that was what he did. The young woman now rested on his back, her head leaning against his as she took in the gentle waves and Riku's warmth as they headed towards her home.

Riku walked through the sand with ease. Growing up on an island granted him the ability to walk easily through the sand, damp or dry. Lightning's added weight didn't trouble him at all. Not only was she lightweight, but her warmth made up for what breeze hit him from the front. Riku kept his hands tucked under her legs, eyes ahead. There were few people on the beach this time of night, especially since it was Thanksgiving. While they were done with family matters for the holiday, others were still going strong. Riku was stuffed and sleepy, but he had enough energy to carry Lightning back home.

"I'm helping you work off the weight from the meal," Light said gently in Riku's ear. He initially just wanted to walk, but now he was carrying her; that was bound to put a little more strain on him. She was surprised that he wanted to walk in the first place though, with the weather still being so cold. She couldn't believe Christmas was only a month away...

Lightning's whispering had Riku's spine tingling, and he subconsciously tightened his hold on her legs. "I'm sure I'll thank you for that later," he replied with a crooked smile, eyes ahead. He, Sora, and Roxas had eaten tons of food, especially pie. Good thing Riku rested before returning to Cocoon, or else he would have been in bad shape. Of course, he wouldn't let Lightning know that.

"You have a lot to be thanking me for," Light continued in Riku's ear. "Like not accidentally burning down Sora and Kairi's apartment, and for letting you eat the third piece of pie." She could have made the list longer, but she was tired along with Riku. They both were sleepy from the meal and the day's social strain, but she knew they were both satisfied.

Riku chuckled, leaving the beach and starting into the neighborhood Lightning lived in. "It is Thanksgiving," he said. "So...thanks." But, he had more to thank her for than just small things like that. He had her to thank for the ability to love, for being a confidante, and someone truly loyal and supportive of him, despite his flaws. That he would always be grateful for.

"You're welcome," Lightning said quietly. She tilted her head and gave Riku a kiss on the cheek before her head returned to its previous position. She was just teasing him, but that didn't mean that her kiss wasn't a genuine one. Any kisses she gave to Riku were expressions of her love.

Riku's smile softened at the affection, and he kept his grip on Lightning secure as he traveled to her house. It didn't take long, but when they arrived, he noticed a car in the driveway. He blinked at the sight, recognizing the vehicle. "Serah must be here," he said to the woman on his back, stopping as he reached the front door to let her down. He guessed the other Farron wanted to spend time with Lightning on the holiday.

Lightning nodded, climbing down from Riku's back as she grabbed her house key out of her pocket. "She and Snow said they were stopping by tonight," she said. She thought she told Riku that, but he must have been focused on something else when she talked to him. Oh well, no harm done. She unlocked the door and stepped inside, the warmth of her home greeting her.

Riku followed Lightning inside, shutting the door quietly behind him before he took off his jacket. He could sense other people in the house, blaming it on their Smell more than anything. While Lightning smelled like roses, Serah smelled sweet.

Lightning took off her coat and stepped out of her boots, stopping in the doorway to the living room. Serah and Snow were sitting stiffly on her couch, the former under her husband's arm as they both stared at her. "Hey..." she greeted, though her tone was immediately suspicious. "Happy Thanksgiving?"

"Happy Thanksgiving!" Serah blurted, putting on the best cheery expression she could. Oh, who am I kidding? She wasn't good at this whole pretending thing. She just wanted to tell Lightning the truth of why they insisted on meeting, but she never figured out a good way to lead up to it.

Riku stepped over behind Lightning, placing a hand on her shoulder as he looked over her shorter height to see the married couple on the couch. "Hey, guys," he greeted with a nod. Snow smiled and lifted a hand in a wave, looking somewhat...odd. Riku wasn't really sure how to describe it, but something was up.

Serah watched as Lightning folded her arms over her chest. Alright, her sister definitely knew something was up. As Lightning opened her mouth to further question her, Serah found herself blurting out the truth without any forewarning. "We're pregnant!"

Snow's eyes widened with how Serah just blurted it like that, but looking at Riku's face, he found himself smiling. Riku was staring at Snow for confirmation, and he simply nodded. Yep, they were having a baby. They found out a few days ago, but wanted to wait until after the holiday to say something. It wasn't technically after Thanksgiving, but it still counted.

Serah looked at the pair across the room, both of their expressions looking stunned. Naturally Lightning was the one that she focused on, though more than anything, she was focused just on breaking the silence that hung over the room. "I mean, I'm pregnant," she corrected. "Snow and I can't both be pregnant; it doesn't really work like that because he's a guy, and I'm the girl, so I'm the one who's pregnant."

Lightning had noticed Snow's slight nod to Riku, but it was unnecessary because she believed Serah. She wouldn't lie about this. But Light had never seen it coming and even if Serah's rambling gave her some time to think, she still was drawing a blank on anything to say. What was there to say?

"You're serious?" Riku said, even after Serah's rambling and Snow's obvious nod. He stepped out from behind Lightning, wide aquamarine eyes darting from Snow to Serah. They were seriously having a kid? How long had they kept this a secret?

"I'm not joking," Serah laughed, looking from Riku to Lightning. Her sister still looked shocked, but Serah was just glad to have the truth out in the open. "We found out earlier this week. Apparently I'm about two months into it though..." She wasn't showing much difference physically, but her appetite was something else.

Lightning rattled off a list in her head. Snow and Serah were set to start a family, right? Steady jobs--check. A house that they can afford to pay off--check. Already comfortable enough with each other to manage the stress of having a child--check. She couldn't come up with any reason why Serah and Snow weren't ready to have kids... "...Good."

Riku glanced at Lightning at her one-worded answer. She was going to be an aunt. She would have another blood relative, and all she had to say was good? Riku's eyes darted back to Snow and Serah, who he began to approach. He shook his head in shock, smiling. "That's...huge, you guys," he said, seeing Snow stand for a hug. Riku did the normal guy-hug with clasping a hand and patting each other on the back with the other. "Congrats!"

While Snow and Riku had their exchange, Serah stood and walked around them to her stunned sister. She didn't take Lightning's reaction offensively; she could see even now that she was still reeling from the news. She laughed, wrapping her arms around Lightning as she gave her a gleeful hug. "Just think," she said softly, "those dreams of ours are finally coming true."

That's what has me so off, Lightning realized as Serah's words hit her. Those dreams of theirs were coming true. Their dreams of having plenty of other people that they could depend on--people they could call their family. Lightning acted on impulse and gave Serah the best hug she gave in a while, though she still didn't squeeze her hard enough to suffocate her. Our family's growing. The Farrons survived everything and now we're bringing life into this world... It was a victory for both of them.

Snow and Riku separated, but the older of the two clapped the silver-haired teen on the shoulder. "Thanks, buddy," he said with a nod. Both of their eyes darted to the sisters in the room. "A kid of my own with the woman I love... It felt like just yesterday that we got married." Things were really happening. They were having a family. It was bizarre, especially since Snow and the Farrons were orphans. They were each other's family, but there was going to be an addition in the next seven months.

"Uh, Lightning?" Serah chuckled after a few moments. "You can let go now..." As much as she enjoyed hugs from her sister (since they were extremely rare), she wanted to go embrace her future brother-in-law. Lightning did hold on for a few more moments before she released her. Once she was a foot or two away and able to look at her sister's face completely, she was stunned. Lightning's...crying.
