Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

The next morning   Riku lingered in the living room as Lightning's guests talked on the sofas. It was the day after Sora and Kairi's wedding, and now that the event was over, everyone was heading ba

"First," Riku started, unlacing her skates to start over, "you need to pull your socks up or you'll get blisters." He reached into her skate with what room he had and pulled on her sock, bringing it up a little more. "Then you tie. Tightly." If her skates were loose, her ankles would roll. Riku took the liberty of lacing them, and quite quickly.

Lightning lifted a hand to brush some of her hair out of her face, watching Riku's movements and taking mental notes. She at least knew to tie the skates tightly, though she had to admit that she hadn't been doing it as tightly as Riku was now. While he was in the middle of lacing her up, she reached forward and took the hat off of his head just because she could so easily.

Riku glanced up, tying a bow on Lightning's skate as he did so. His hair was messed up due to her most recent action, and he gave her a look before moving to her next skate. She could keep his hat if she wanted; he didn't really need it. He would be just fine.

Lightning hummed as she smirked in amusement, twirling the hat around her finger casually as she watched Riku continue to work. "When was the last time you went skating?" she asked out of curiosity. He was really good at it from what she saw of him.

"Last year," Riku said, his eyes on the laces as he worked them with his fingers. "We usually get snow on the Islands every year, so I've been doing it since I was little." That was why it came so naturally, even after a year of not doing it. It was a lot like riding a bike for most people. Sora and Kairi were the same, though Kairi had always been afraid of falling through the ice. That never happened, but it explained her hesitation.

Light hummed, turning her head to look at the ice-rink as a soft wind blew. "It normally snows here too," she said. Actually, it always did growing up. Bodhum was under a part of Cocoon's shell where the weather was always regulated. There was snow every year back then on both Christmas and New Years.

"Good," Riku said, finishing Lightning's other skate and standing up. "Then if we decide to live here, you'll have more chances to practice." Even if the snow melted, Riku and Lightning would have more chances to skate like this; she would be a pro in no time. Until then, Riku held out his hand for Lightning to take. It was time for her to learn.

Lightning and Riku could get into some heated discussion about where they wanted to live in the future, but for today, she let it drop. It was Christmas; of course she wasn't going to argue with him--especially not over something so irrelevant to the day. She gazed at his hand and accepted it, at least able to stand easily on the blades. She held out his hat for him to take back, since she didn't want to release his hand to put it back on his head.

Riku took the hat from Lightning and then tossed it into the snow, not too concerned over it. He could go without a hat; he usually did. Instead he started to carefully lead Lightning to the ice, his hand in hers the entire time. When they were at the edge, he stepped onto the ice with ease, though he spun on the spot to take Lightning's other hand. "Ready?" he asked, smiling faintly. She could do this.

Lightning lifted an eyebrow, a faint smirk appearing on her lips. "As ready as I'll ever be," she said simply. She tightened her grasp on Riku's hand, not sure how this would go down. Was it hard to skate? Would she pick it up naturally, or would this be a big struggle? She was about to find out.

"Okay," Riku replied with a nod. "Just take it nice and easy." He scooted back on the ice, urging Lightning to step on. She had to find her balance first, and then the rest would come from there. She was graceful on her feet, but when on thin blades, he wasn't so sure. It all depended on her.

Lightning held onto both Riku's hands as she took one step out of the snow and put her skate onto the ice. Not too bad, she thought. That changed slightly when she lifted her other foot and set it on the ice and one of her feet decided to drift forward. She locked her knees to stay up tall, gazing down as she tried to keep whatever balance she had.

Riku smiled faintly. "There you go," he said. "Got your balance?" He wouldn't make her move on her own first. He would pull her and make sure she could keep her balance while moving. Then they'd get to her own efforts.

"Slightly," Lightning said, forcing her eyes up to lock onto Riku's. Though he was obviously amused by how unaccustomed she was to the ice and the skates, his eyes mostly shone with care. He wouldn't tease her for not knowing how to skate, because he knew the reason wasn't anything she was proud of. She didn't have a fun childhood.

"Tell me when you do," Riku encouraged with a faint nod, looking from Lightning's eyes to her feet and then back again. "I'm gonna pull you once you're ready, just to make sure you can keep your balance." Behind him, he heard Kairi squealing, probably because she fell, and Roxas's immediate laughter. Lightning would be having fun soon enough, he was sure of it.

Light's lips turned in a half-smile when she heard and saw Kairi take a tumble. At least I won't be the only klutz on the ice. "I'm ready," she said, returning her primary focus to Riku. She was able to bend her knees and stay standing in place; that was as good as it got in her eyes.

Riku nodded again and started to move backward, glancing behind him to make sure he didn't run into anyone. After a few seconds, he turned back to Lightning, making sure his other senses were on high alert in case somebody came too close. He kept his hands securely around Lightning's, his hold tight. She could rely on him for stability.

Lightning mostly kept her gaze down on her feet, only briefly glancing up every other second to see if anything would be blocking her path. Naturally Riku was the only person in front of her, and though she didn't know it, he was keeping an eye out too. She looked up at him after a few seconds, a weak smile appearing on her lips. "This isn't so--" She felt one of her skates slip out from underneath her, and she gasped as she started to fall forward.

Riku used his hold on Lightning's hands to his advantage, pulling her to him instantly and wrapping an arm around her back. He steadied her after a second, form tense as he made sure she didn't fall. He chuckled lowly, looking down at her. "Isn't so what?" he prodded with a smile. He knew what she was thinking, but she spoke a little too soon.

Light scowled, knowing Riku was teasing her. Alright, so she had spoken too soon. Though he was keeping her up with his grasp on her hand and his arm around her back, she tightly gripped the hand that she still held and the upper arm that she now clung to. "I'm sure you've been graceless before too," she argued simply in her defense.

"You've seen me surf," Riku reminded the woman in his arms. "Not my specialty." He grew up on an island and sucked at surfing, but was great at ice skating. How ironic. Regardless, this wasn't about him. It was about Lightning, and her ability to skate. She wasn't good, but that wasn't her fault; she grew up too fast and didn't have the free time for this kind of thing like he did years ago. But now it was time for her to make up for lost time.

"True," Light agreed. I just stink at every activity that could be considered fun. She let the thought drift away with the freeze, her hands loosening on Riku. "Let me go." And by "let me go", she meant "let's go back to how we were before I slipped up." She wasn't going to learn how to skate just by standing in Riku's arms.

Riku nodded and loosened his hold on Lightning, backing himself up as he moved his hand from Lightning's back to grasp her other hand. "For right now, just lock your legs," he instructed gently. He needed her to get used to moving more.

  • Author

Lightning nodded in silence, sliding her hand from Riku's upper arm down closer to the hand that he wanted her to grasp. She didn't pay attention to anyone around her, knowing that focusing on them was only going to distract her. She wanted to get the hang of this so Riku could skate freely with other people.

Once Riku started skating backward again, and he told Lightning to lock her knees, he noticed that she was balancing a lot better. He glanced behind him every so often to make sure he didn't hit anyone, but what he didn't count on was Sora and Roxas sliding along the ice simply for fun.

"Look out!"

Riku turned his head, aquamarine eyes widening when he saw Roxas coming straight for him. But Riku didn't have time to react. Roxas took Riku's legs out from under him, and unfortunately, his grasp was so tight on Lightning's hands that he pulled her down with him.
