Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

The next morning   Riku lingered in the living room as Lightning's guests talked on the sofas. It was the day after Sora and Kairi's wedding, and now that the event was over, everyone was heading ba

Riku rose from his seat and started grabbing the numerous cups around the room. "A few puppies managed to get out of the laundry room," he stated, lying through his teeth. It was so good not even Lightning would be able to call him out on it. "Kairi and Namine must have left the door open a little when they left."

"Hm," Lightning hummed, though she didn't believe him. "Puppies had your heart soaring, then." Riku forgot that they were connected at the heart now. His emotions transferred to hers unless he put up a wall to block it. He failed to do so when he disappeared earlier.

Riku didn't panic. He wouldn't tell Lightning what was going on even if she did catch him in a lie. He looked over to her and smirked. "Maybe your sister called me handsome," he teased. Of course, that would be flattering, but those kinds of words only made his heart soar when they came from Lightning. That would always be the case.

"Yeah," Light smirked. "That must have been what caused it." Of course, she still didn't believe him. But since he didn't seem to want to enlighten her, she'd let it drop for now. It wasn't worth getting into a fight over any day, let alone Christmas.

Riku's smirk softened into a genuine smile as he thought about the gift Serah gave him. It would be perfect. He turned and took the cups in his grasp to the kitchen, setting them in the sink. He couldn't wait for the next few days to go by. His gift for Lightning would actually be in motion, as would his plan for proposal. It would be great.

Within a few minutes, Lightning gathered the garbage and tossed the bag outside. She thought about releasing the puppies from their room for a little while but then decided against it. She wanted peace for at least one minute. A sigh escaped her lips as she plopped down on the couch, lying on her stomach with her face buried in the cushion.

Riku returned to the living room after putting the cups in the dishwasher, and upon seeing Lightning's position, he smiled again. "Hosting a holiday is tiring, huh?" he asked, starting toward her. Kairi would know that well, considering she took care of Thanksgiving. He doubted she would volunteer for another few years.

Lightning hummed her "yes" into the couch. She knew that they were at her house mainly because of the puppies, so at least next year they wouldn't have to deal with that problem. Light didn't expect Jasmine to have any more puppies (or rather, she wasn't hoping for any more). One litter was enough.

Riku crouched beside Lightning's head, lifting a hand and gently massaging one of her shoulders. "Don't get too comfortable," he told her lowly. "You still have a gift to open." And they had some wine to drink. Serah bought some expensive stuff for Lightning, and Riku wanted to have a taste. Of course, that would only happen when Lightning wanted to open the bottle.

Lightning rolled over onto her side, opening her eyes to look at Riku. "Too comfortable already," she said with a soft smirk. But in all seriousness, she was feeling the day's activities now. Playing in the snow, falling on the ice and hosting a party took its toll on a person. Whatever Riku had in mind, she hoped it wasn't too strenuous.

Riku's smile grew a little. "I'll start a fire and get a few pillows," he said, still lightly massaging Lightning's shoulder. "Maybe we could drink some of that wine...and you could open your gift from me." He tilted his head a little. "Does that sound more comfortable?"

Light's soft smirk turned into a genuine smile. "Sounds nice," she said quietly.  The two of them had plenty of intimate moments in front of the fireplace before, so it was fitting to have a fire on Christmas and enjoy a glass of wine together. Of course, no other types of alcohol were going to be involved; Riku was staying away from more potent drinks for a while.

"You get the wine, I'll do the rest," Riku compromised, smile softening. He would let a nice aura set in before he got to opening gifts. They hadn't had many quiet moments alone the past few weeks. The puppies were more demanding than both of them thought, Serah was hormonal and often asked for Lightning's company, and Riku went off to take care of Heartless problems every few days. It was about time they enjoyed each other's company.

"Fine," Lightning huffed, though she really didn't mind. She moved and rose to her feet, collecting two clean wine glasses from the kitchen before pouring in some of the beverage. As she returned to the living room, Riku was finishing setting up the pillows in front of the fire. Having magic came in handy on days like this.

Riku turned his head when he sensed movement out of the corner of his eye. The fire offered the only illumination in the room, so Lightning's form glowed. It had Riku swallowing, but he covered it up, as well as the feeling in his heart. Lightning wouldn't catch him on this.

Lightning sat down on the ground by Riku, being careful with the two glasses of wine that she held. She was naturally a graceful person, though today on the ice was an exception. She would have been humiliated if that happened to her a year ago, but now here she was, thinking fondly of her own embarrassment. She really changed in the past twelve months.

Riku accepted the glass from Lightning with a murmured "thank you" and took a sip. He wasn't a pro at wine tasting or anything, but the flavor was pretty good. He allowed the crackling of the fire fill the room as he sat next to the person he loved, the person he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. He couldn't wait for the next few days to pass so they could get to that point in their lives.

Lightning gazed at the fire for a few moments, letting the comfortable silence rest between them. This is nice, she thought, relaxing into the pillows. It was quiet. Everyone was gone now except for her and Riku. Jasmine and the puppies were hopefully resting in the back. There would be excitement with them again soon, but for now, she'd enjoy the peace.

Riku closed his eyes, resting one elbow against his knee. He took in the silence, the peace. He couldn't remember the last time he had been so...carefree. He always had to defeat Darkness, but it was gone, or at least the worst of it was. Heartless still existed, but that was okay for now. He still had the Keyblade, which meant his job wasn't done yet. As long as that didn't become overwhelming, he could handle it.

Light took a sip of her wine before she glanced over at Riku. He was taking it in too, and she wasn't going to interrupt that. She only lifted her free hand and placed it atop his elbow on his knee before she looked back at the fire. After a day of nonstop noise, the soft crackling of the fire was nice.

Riku opened his eyes, blinking at the cool hand on his arm. He gazed at Lightning in silence for a moment. "...It was a good Christmas, huh?" he asked softly. He enjoyed it a lot, having everyone around. More people than last year, and pets too. They weren't at the cabin either. Instead, they were home.

  • Author

"It was," Light agreed quietly. It was a very good Christmas. Everyone was able to get together for the first time in...well, the first time ever. Everyone from Lightning's Cocoon family merged with Riku's Islands family with ease. It was just another sign that it was meant to be.

Riku smiled and lifted an eyebrow. "Enjoy your presents?" he asked softly. He wanted to know what she got, if she was willing to share. He was busy for a while with Serah and Snow, so he missed out on what she received from their friends. He still hadn't opened some of his presents, actually.

"I will in the next few days," Light responded. "Almost everyone got me clothes." She supposed that the girls in the group wanted her to have a better fashion sense. And they wanted her near the edge of her comfort zone. Still, they didn't push it too much. The jeans and sweaters were both comfortable and practical, like she was.

Riku's smile grew a little. Of course everyone got her clothes, especially Kairi and Namine. He was sure one of them threw in a dress too. They knew of his plans for the next week or so. They were just preparing Lightning for it. Riku's eyes found the fire as he took another sip of wine. He was glad he had such supportive friends.
