Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

The next morning   Riku lingered in the living room as Lightning's guests talked on the sofas. It was the day after Sora and Kairi's wedding, and now that the event was over, everyone was heading ba

"I don't know what you got...other than this." Lightning reached over towards the tree, leaning over to reach the small box. It wasn't much--not nearly good enough for the young man that she loved so dearly, but she was terrible at coming up with gift ideas. This idea actually came from Sora and Kairi. She hoped it would work out the way they said it would.

Riku lowered his wine glass to the side Lightning wasn't on, his aquamarine eyes following her as she reached toward the tree. That was right; they still had to do their gift exchange. He would give Lightning his gift in a minute, of course, since she was presenting hers first.

Light sat herself back up once she had a grasp on the box, thankful she didn't lean too far and lose her balance. Spilling the wine on herself would have been one embarrassment she wouldn't enjoy so much. She held the package out for Riku without a word, waiting for him to take it and open it.

Riku glanced from Lightning to the box, silently taking it. He began to open it, and once the wrapping paper was gone, he lifted the lid of the box. Inside was something wrapped in silk. Riku pulled the silk from item and blinked at the sight. It was Lightning's necklace... Well, it wasn't, but it was a replica of it, and larger. Lightning had a charm made for him? Riku realized that it was more than just a charm, however, when he lifted it from the box, holding it in his hand. It was a Keychain.

Light glanced at Riku's face in the firelight and thought that she saw confusion, so she began to explain herself. "I had no clue what to get you. One day I was talking to Sora and Kairi and Sora said how Kairi's good luck charm could attach to his Keyblade. So I thought maybe, I'd..." It sounded a bit silly and childish now that she was speaking it aloud, but she continued anyway. "...give you a good luck charm."

"No, no..." Riku said, glancing at Lightning before his eyes returned to the gift. "No, it's great. It's just..." He shook his head, releasing a small laugh. "...I'm surprised. I wasn't sure what to expect at all, but this..." It was amazing. Lightning went through a lot of time and trouble to make this, didn't she? She really didn't have to, but...Riku was flattered.

Light smiled, fighting the urge to scratch the side of her head in sheepishness. "You're a hard person to shop for." She saw clothes she could have gotten him, but there wasn't much sentimental value in that. It was alright to get clothes from friends, but getting clothes for Riku wouldn't have felt right to her.

Riku turned his head, leaning over and placing a kiss to Lightning's cheek. "Thank you," he said softly. He really appreciated this. The charm was sentimental in more ways than one; it not only came from Lightning's heart, but it was a symbol that both of them found important in their lives. Riku still had the necklace, which he wore every day, but now he had a Keychain to grant him strength, bravery, defense, or something else entirely. He wasn't sure what properties the Keychain held, but he was more than willing to find out.

"You're welcome," Lightning responded softly. She blinked when she heard a loud whining from the back of the house, and she knew that the puppies weren't resting like she hoped. She sighed, slowly rising to her feet. "I'll be right back," she said to Riku before she started back. She'd figure out what the puppy was so worked up over and then return to Riku and their spot on the floor. In the mean time, maybe he would try out that keychain.

Riku looked over his shoulder to watch Lightning go, and once she was out of the room, he let his gaze fall on the charm in his hand. He smiled and released a faint "hmph" as he set the box down, then using that hand to summon his Keyblade. It was in Way to the Dawn, as usual, but with this new Keychain, what would it look like? He unclasped his Way to the Dawn Keychain and replaced it with Lightning's, being careful with the charm. As soon as it was attached, the Keyblade flashed briefly with light before it was a new Keyblade entirely. Riku grunted in shock, which was almost literal. The Keyblade had live sparks running over the blade, which gave its silver coating a blue glow. It had a shapely design around the hilt, slender with curves and pointed edges. The charm dangled from the hilt, and Riku could only gape. It was...amazing.

Lightning checked in on the puppies and then returned, explaining the situation to her boyfriend as she stepped into the living room. "One of them ran straight into the dryer," she mused. It must have been the most lively of the puppies, who was always getting himself into trouble. "No damage to either--" She stopped speaking when she had a full view of Riku and the Keyblade, words failing her. The Keyblade was so...bright.

Riku glanced over his shoulder, a gentle hum coming from his Keyblade. His eyes rested on Lightning's. "Did you know it would look like this?" he asked, studying her expression, but only briefly. His gaze returned to his weapon in astonishment as he struggled to focus on what holding the weapon was doing to him--what it made him feel.

"No." Lightning stepped closer to Riku, standing beside him and the masses of pillows as she too focused her gaze on the Keyblade. "I didn't even know if it'd work..." She didn't have any other Keyblade wielders try it; she figured any sentimentality wouldn't come through unless Riku was the wielder. At this point, she was just happy it wasn't useless.

Courage. Strength. Composure. Determination. Those were all the things Riku suddenly felt. He was calm, and he suddenly felt braver, stronger, and more determined than ever. This was Lightning's heart. It had to be. This Keyblade held all the same attributes she did. It was her, but in weapon form. Just the realization had Riku fighting to catch his breath. Lightning...

Lightning didn't feel a thing from Riku. Not a single ounce of emotion. Little did she know that this was because he initially put up a wall in his heart when she walked over so she wouldn't know how flustered he was at her mere appearance. He never lowered that wall, so now she couldn't feel anything. "Riku...?" she asked quietly in question. What was he thinking?

Riku could only gaze at the weapon in front of him, still trying to breathe. This feeling was...intense. "Light..." he said lowly, though he had nothing to follow with. He couldn't believe she did this. How did she do it? Did she know how exhilarating just holding the Keyblade was now? Couldn't she feel what he was experiencing? After a second, he realized his wall was up, and he immediately let it down. She had to realize just what she created. It was impressive.

Light's eyes widened when the emotions suddenly crashed in on her heart. Riku felt...more like Riku than he ever had before. His inner strengths were brought out by the Keyblade that he held. He was always determined to do what was right, courageous and strong enough to follow through... She knelt down beside him, setting a hand on his shoulder as she gazed at the weapon. I did this?

"Heh," Riku breathed, smiling as he glanced over at Lightning. This was awesome. He had never had a Keychain like this before. True, he didn't have as many as Sora, but he had a few, and they never made him feel like this. Lightning's charm was special, just as she was.

"It feels like it brings out the best in you," Lightning summed up after a few moments of silence. She didn't fully understand the Keyblade the way that Riku did, despite their hearts being connected. There were some things that could only be conveyed to the wielder of the Keyblade, and its exact nature was one of those things.

"That's because the Keyblade's not reflecting me this time," Riku stated lowly, then looking to his weapon. "...It's reflecting you." It was Lightning he...absorbed now. When he had this Keychain attached to his weapon, a part of her was with him. It was so strange, since he considered her to be with him all the time. But this was different, somehow.

Light tilted her head, gazing at the Keyblade. "I don't understand," she said quietly. The feelings that Riku had in his heart...the strength, courage and determination...He was saying that her spirit was poured into the Keyblade, and now he felt those qualities of hers? That was what was going on?

"...It's you, Light," Riku elaborated gently, moving the Keyblade slightly in his grasp to see it from another angle. "...This power is from you." She unknowingly created a charm that held a piece of her inside it. He wasn't sure how it happened, but if she made this from scratch, that more than likely had something to do with it.

Light looked from the blade to Riku. The Keyblade wasn't the only thing shining. He was too. Not literally, but he looked so...She couldn't find any words to describe it. More than anything, he looked like the Riku that she loved, though he was a bit more awestruck than she usually saw him.

Riku smirked faintly as he took in the power running through him one more time. It was...exhilarating, strengthening, and he loved it. He felt Lightning's gaze on him, but instead of meeting her eyes, he lifted his free hand and unclasped the charm from the Keyblade, sending the weapon away a second later. Riku felt the powers from the Keychain linger in his body, but they eventually faded away. Instead of dwelling on it, Riku turned his head, looking to the woman beside him. This was the best gift he'd ever received, hands down.

Lightning met Riku's eyes in silence, unable to do anything else. She didn't fully grasp the bond that he felt with that Keyblade, but she was still connected to his heart, so she knew that it made him feel special. I'm glad it works, she thought in silence. And she was glad Riku liked it so much.
