Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

The next morning   Riku lingered in the living room as Lightning's guests talked on the sofas. It was the day after Sora and Kairi's wedding, and now that the event was over, everyone was heading ba

Riku's smirk remained, and after a moment, he leaned forward and placed a kiss to Lightning's lips. He lifted his free hand to cup her cheek as well, just taking in this moment. She went through a lot of effort to make this. He didn't want her thinking he was ungrateful, but he was sure she knew that he appreciated it. How couldn't he? It was amazing.

Claire's eyes flickered shut at the kiss, the young woman moving her hand from one of Riku's shoulders to the other as she wrapped her arm around him. All the tension and nervousness she felt in giving him the gift were long-gone now, as were any other worries that came with hosting the party. This moment was perfectly peaceful and overflowing with love.

Riku kissed Lightning for another moment before he retreated, his hand remaining against Lightning's cheek. "I love it," he said of the gift. "Thank you." He would make sure to keep it with him at all times. The life of a Keyblader was one full of surprises, and if he was ever in need of strength or courage, or that extra push to continue or needed to stay calm, he would have the charm available to him.

Lightning opened her eyes and looked at Riku, her gaze automatically locking onto his. "You're welcome," she said quietly. She was happy that the gift turned out, but she was even more happy at how it made Riku look at her. He always looked at her with affection, but his gaze held even more warmth than usual now.

Riku gazed at Lightning for another moment before he retreated, his present for her already at his side. He turned away from her to grab it, setting the Keychain in his lap for the time being. He held out a small rectangular box to her, wrapped and topped with a ribbon. He really had two gifts for her, but this was the first. She'd used it in the past, back in the times of Xehanort. He knew she would appreciate it now.

Light leaned back into the pillows so she was more comfortable, her hands resting in her lap for a few moments. She glanced at the box that Riku held out for her and then accepted it, handling it with care because she assumed that it was perhaps some piece of jewelry. However, she was in for a surprise when she opened the box and saw a slim piece of black fabric inside.

Riku found himself suddenly shy at the look on Lightning's face. "Um...I know it's not much, and it's cheap," he started, glancing away and rubbing the back of his neck. "But I wanted you to have it. I don't really need it anymore, thanks to you." He lifted his aquamarine eyes to the woman beside him, smiling faintly. She was his Light in the Darkness. She had been all along. He didn't need to hide behind a piece of fabric to face his demons; Lightning was his strength now.

Lightning lifted the fabric out of the box, fingering it and allowing her eyes to rest on it for a few moments before she looked to Riku. She had forgotten about his blindfold for a while because he didn't struggle with his Darkness so much. And his reason was...her. She held back the Darkness inside of him. I'm flattered--really flattered.

"And...I thought that maybe, if I'm not around because of the Keyblade, and you need me," Riku continued, reaching over and gently taking the blindfold from Lightning's grasp, "I'd still be there. At least in spirit." He then proceeded to tie it around Lightning's arm, near the band that she and Serah shared. He took back his hands once it was finished, looking from the blindfold to the woman he loved. It wasn't about buying something expensive, like jewelry, and handing it off. Riku believed gifts were meant to hold more sentimental value than anything, and this was his contribution. A huge contribution, really, considering how much the blindfold mattered in his past.

Lightning looked down at the blindfold as Riku tied it around her arm, listening to every word that he had to say. It's like when I gave him the necklace, she thought. She gave it to him when she thought she was going away for a while. But Riku wasn't going anywhere far away like that. She wouldn't let him go that far without her. She lifted her gaze to his eyes, nodding softly as she leaned forward and gave him a peck on the lips. I know what this means. Thank you.

Riku closed his eyes at the brief kiss, but then he opened them to smile faintly at the woman he loved. His cheeks were a little flushed from shyness, but he didn't have any reason to be; Lightning understood, especially since the lightning bolt necklace he wore held the same symbolism as his blindfold. They understood each other, which was what made them so good together.

Light smiled softly, able to see Riku's blush even in the dull firelight. Nevertheless, she wasn't going to tease him for it. She rested her forehead against his in silence, keeping her eyes open for a few moments before they flickered shut in comfort and peace.

Riku gazed at Lightning even if she closed her eyes, loving the close proximity. Of course, if she said yes, then he would have it for the rest of his life. Just the thought had him taking in a breath. That was a future he could definitely live with. "...But there's one more thing," he whispered, an envelope still resting on the floor beside him. It was his next gift for Lightning, one he knew she would accept.

Light opened her eyes and withdrew, surprised at the statement. "I don't need anything else," she said softly. She didn't even need the blindfold; all she really needed was Riku. But if a day ever did come where he wasn't with her, she'd be glad to have the fabric wrapped around her arm. It was a physical representation of what she already had in her heart: Riku was always with her.

Riku smiled and shook his head. "That's alright," he replied, grasping the envelope and holding it out to Lightning. "But I think you're really gonna like this one." It was expensive, sure, but it was going to be worth it. He just knew it.

Lightning accepted the envelope, opening it easily since Riku only tucked the tab in instead of sealing it shut. She pulled out a slip of paper and smiled in amusement as she read it aloud. "From the dates of December 26th to January 2nd, Lightning Claire Farron is formally invited to spend a week on vacation at a secret location with her boyfriend. Please note: Rain-dates and flat-out refusals are prohibited and the consequences are unspeakable." She chuckled, lifting her gaze to Riku. "What are these unspeakable consequences?"

"Unspeakable," Riku replied with a smirk. He glanced from Lightning to the paper in her hands and then back again. Honestly, he hadn't come up with any consequences, mostly because he didn't plan on Lightning turning him down. This week away would be good for them, and it was kind of crucial, considering his plans.

Lightning smirked, not bothering to probe the situation any further. "I hope you have someone lined up to take care of the puppies," she reminded him. She didn't know how long he had these plans in mind, but puppies may not have been factored in at the start.

"Serah and Snow have it covered," Riku stated with certainty. "...So you in?" By the way she suggested someone taking care of the puppies, she seemed to agree, but he needed to hear her say it. He was a bit nervous, honestly, but he made sure not to let her sense it. She would ask questions, and Riku couldn't have that. He had to keep his cool for the next week.

Lightning fought the urge to roll her eyes and tease Riku. The answer was so obvious that she didn't think it needed saying. But even so, she could tell Riku was looking for a serious answer. "Of course I'm in, goof," she said quietly. As if she would say no to a request like that.

Riku's smirk spread into a smile. "Good, then you better start packing," he said. "We leave in the morning." His stuff was already packed, since he had been prepared for this day for a long time. Of course, he hadn't started packing until just recently, but he made sure to hide his bags from Lightning. When she got suspicious, she did everything she could to get to the bottom of things. Riku couldn't have that this time.

"If you insist," Light sighed, though she obviously was just teasing him. She began to rise to her feet, setting a hand on Riku's head as she did so to lightly ruffle his hair. He kept secrets before, but not telling her about a getaway was on a whole different level. She was impressed he kept it hidden from her.

Riku released a small chuckle, looking up at the woman he loved after she messed up his hair. "...And those clothes the girls got you?" he said softly. "Bring those." Kairi and Namine were in on it, so they bought her what they thought she could wear this next week. They would be warm enough, comfortable enough, and nice enough.

Light smirked, walking over to the tree and picking up the boxes. "Knew they were acting suspicious," she murmured mostly to herself. Kairi and Namine acted far too excited for giving her clothes. Now she understood that they were thinking of Riku's gift to her: the vacation. Wherever they were going, it must have been cold, considering the types of clothes she got. But there was one dress thrown into the mix...

Riku only smiled, his eyes stuck to Lightning. The glow of the fire only made her more beautiful, which he thought was difficult. She was stunning, and he was sure he would see more of that the next few days. He and Lightning would make up for last year, when their friends tagged along to the cabins. But that wasn't happening this year.
