Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Light's wide blue eyes darted from Riku to the ring. He just proposed--finally. They made plenty of promises to be with each other forever, but sealing it with marriage was important to both of them. There was nothing in their way now--nothing to keep them from making that vow in marriage. But before Lightning could answer the most important question of her life, she had a request of Riku. "Ask it again, properly." Through the heart.

Out of the corner of his eye, Riku noticed the sky lighting up. Midnight was here, which meant the new year. But in addition to that new year, there was a promise of a new beginning, and what better way to start it than with a proposal? Lightning's request had Riku smiling, and his aquamarine eyes locked onto her blue as he did as she requested. "Claire Rosalynn Farron," he repeated. "...Will you marry me?"

Lightning fought her urge to get teary-eyed. She didn't like crying, not even tears of joy. "Better," she whispered, remarking that she approved of Riku's new proposal. She smiled, clasping her hands in her lap as she gazed at Riku. "Yes. I'll marry you." Gladly, she'd marry him.

Riku had released a faint chuckle at the spoken word, but the response to his heart silenced him. She said yes...? He tore his eyes from Lightning's and pulled the ring out of its place in the box, then reaching for her left hand. As fireworks lit up the night sky nearby, he wordlessly slid the diamond ring onto her finger. Once it was placed, his eyes darted back up to her face, nothing but happiness and love in his heart.

"Heh," Light breathed softly. She glanced down at the ring on her finger, though she didn't gaze at it long before her eyes returned to Riku. She reached out and grabbed his hand, ushering him to his feet as she too rose. Not only was it New Years now, but they had another reason to share a kiss: their engagement.

Riku rose to his feet with Lightning's insistence, but as soon as he was steady, he lifted his free hand to Lightning's waist and bent his head to kiss her. His lips met hers and his heart soared. She said yes... She accepted his promises and made one of her own: to face life beside him forever. Lightning--Claire--wasn't just his girlfriend anymore. She was his fiancee. She was going to be his wife.

Lightning shut her eyes and returned Riku's kiss, her arms wrapping around him as she pulled herself close to him. She even put all her weight on him for a few moments when she picked her feet up off the ground. The whole trip was leading up to this. She realized it even now when there was so much going on in her heart. But the effort Riku put into everything made her feel even lighter.

Riku held Lightning's weight easily, his arms supporting her when she lifted her feet. He had to fight to conceal his smile in fear of ruining the kiss. He had been frantic and nervous leading up to this point, but the second he started telling her everything in his heart, he felt at ease. That was love.

Lightning stood on her own two feet once more, pulling back from the kiss for only a moment to catch her breath. She easily rested her forehead against Riku's, her height closer to his because of the heels that she wore. She opened her eyes after a few moments, seeing mostly Riku but also noticing the fireworks going off behind him.

Riku took in a much-needed breath, though his smile instantly came to be. "You just made me the happiest man alive," he said over the fireworks. He had never felt so light before. The woman he loved--the only woman he ever loved--just agreed to marry him. She would be with him for the rest of his life, a promise he would be reminded of every day. How couldn't he be happy at a time like this?

"The happiest man and the happiest woman stuck with each other in holy matrimony," Lightning began with a crooked smile. "Sure, why not." She was looking forward to the rest of her life with Riku. Serah had her family now with Snow and a baby on the way... Serah. What's she going to say when she hears about this? She'd go nuts (in a good way).

Riku chuckled softly, leaning forward and placing another kiss to Lightning's lips. He held it for a moment before retreating. He still had to give her the necklaces as Serah and Snow's blessing, but that could wait for now. He just wanted to take in this moment with her. It was the best moment of his life.

Lightning wrapped her arms more tightly around Riku, embracing him as her head rested above his shoulder. The fireworks show was spectacular. Lights shone everywhere around them, pouring into every window of the cab and illuminating them as if their love didn't shine brightly enough on its own.

Riku held Lightning securely, his smile never vanishing as he gazed out the window in front of him. Colors were everywhere, but this moment would have been amazing without them. Riku and Lightning were engaged. After all the talk of forever, it was finally becoming reality.

Light pulled back from the embrace, looking at Riku's face as the fireworks reflected off his skin and hair. He wasn't the kid that she met and rubbed wrong years ago; he was the young man that she loved and was  devoted to now and forever. And she had the ring to prove it.

Riku gazed at Lightning, her hair even more pink when the same color erupted in the sky. He moved his hands along her back, taking in a deep breath in satisfaction. This went extremely well. Of course, he had one more thing to tell her, which he knew she would like. "...I followed tradition, you know," he told Lightning gently. "I asked for permission to marry you." And who else would he approach other than Serah?

Lightning hmphed after a moment, a smile appearing on her lips. "Let me guess. It was Christmas day." She remembered feeling Riku's heart soaring when they were apart, and Serah and Snow were both missing from the room as well. It was a logical conclusion.

"Yeah," Riku replied with a nod. His smile softened. "And she gave me something." Serah and Snow gave him necklaces, which were worn on Cocoon when a couple got engaged. Even if Riku wasn't from Cocoon, he was embracing its traditions...for Lightning.

Gave you something? Lightning repeated in her mind. It wasn't the ring on her finger; it was brand new and her family didn't have a ring they passed down anyway. She doubted Riku was saying Serah gave him a blessing; it sounded like she gave him something physical. She tried to figure it out, her eyes searching Riku's face for a clue.

Riku removed one of his hands from Lightning's back and reached into his coat pocket, something he was still able to do despite their close proximity. He pulled out the two necklaces, which dangled from his grasp as he held them up for Lightning to see. In addition to the lightning bolt necklace Riku already received from Lightning, he would be wearing this one as well.

"Oh..." Lightning breathed, seeing the pendants dangle in front of her face. The engagement necklaces. She hadn't thought about those for a long time. Serah and Snow held onto theirs and still wore them even though they were married, but she just learned to forget about them even if she saw them all the time. And now Riku was giving one to her and to himself...

Riku looked from the necklaces to Lightning. "Serah and Snow had this ready for me when I asked for their blessing," he revealed softly. "They must have known this would happen soon." Their engagement could have been seen coming, to everyone but Lightning that is. She didn't expect it, from what Riku could tell.

Little sneak, Light thought of Serah. She was surely the one who thought of the necklaces. And she somehow kept the secret from Lightning? It was incredible, since Serah was bad at keeping secrets and Lightning was good at seeing through lies. She smiled softly and looked past the pendants, asking Riku a question. "You know what to do with them?" Did he know the whole tradition with the necklaces?

Riku shrugged slightly, looking from Lightning to the necklaces. "Uh...Serah didn't really say," he admitted. All she told him was that they wore them during their engagement. What else was there to do? Did he miss something?

Lightning scoffed, taking a small step back. Riku didn't know the rest of the tradition? If that was the case... "There's not much point in using them, then," she muttered, though she was fighting hard not to smirk. The truth was, there was no more tradition with them. She just wanted to make Riku squirm.
