Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Terra nodded slightly, though he had a lot of unanswered questions. "When did this happen?" he asked, referring to their reunion.

"Just a few minutes ago," Ven said before Claire could speak. "When I went to the beach, I saw her there." But she had her sword drawn at the time, which confused him. What was that all about?

Aqua's small smile faded slightly as she looked to Ven, though it was faintly visible. Just a few minutes ago? That was...unexpected, but then again, so was Lightning's arrival.

"Can she stay with us, guys?" Ven asked, eyes pleading. He didn't want her to have to stay somewhere else; he wanted to be with her.
Aqua shook her head slightly. "I don't see why not," she replied, looking up at Terra. They had a spare bedroom, since the mayor was kind enough to lend them the house, and a nice one at that.

"Yeah, that'll be fine," Terra said, glancing at Aqua before he looked back to Ven and Lightning. He noticed Ven's expression light up, but Lightning only smiled faintly and nodded. She seemed like the quiet type.
Aqua's faint smile remained, and she lowered her gaze from Terra to Ven and Lightning. "Do you want us to come with you to help get settled, Ven?" she asked softly. If he didn't need their help, they could just stay in town. There were a few more shops Aqua wanted to check out anyway.

"Nah," Ven said, faintly shaking his head. "We probably won't go home right away anyway." He would show Lightning around the island and ask her about how she found him and how she was so young. He had many, many questions for her.
"Alright then," Aqua replied with a small nod. She guessed there really wasn't any rush, so she would let Ven have his quality time with his sister.

"See you guys later," Ven said, flashing a smile to Terra and Aqua before he started pulling his sister away. She only had time to nod slightly and wave politely before she had to face forward and follow Ven so that she wouldn't run into anything or stumble on the path.
Aqua fought the urge to giggle at Ven's excitement, able to tell by his actions. She hoped Lightning could handle him now that he was older, and more energetic.

Ven dragged Lightning around the island, telling her everything there was to say about it and his friends. They even ran into his other friends and talked with them for a little while, but eventually, Ven took Lightning to the play island. He noticed another boat there when they got there, and he assumed that it was Riku's, since they hadn't run into him again on the mainland. He led Lightning to the small island and he sat on the tree while she leaned against the trunk of the tree.

"This is a nice place," Lightning commented once she and Ven were comfortable, her arms folded over her chest as she stared out at the ocean. It was unlike anything else she saw before, and she had to admit, she was liking the weather. And she got a good vibe from all of Ven's friends except for that one, Riku. At least he's well protected by these other Keyblade wielders.

After dropping Jasmine off back home, Riku decided that he would go to the island to think about some things. One of them being Lightning, and who exactly she was. He walked out of the door that led to the Cove, already knowing that she was Ven's sister. But still, they seemed completely opposite from one another. Ven was so enthusiastic and energetic, happy. Lightning...He wasn't so sure.

"Ven, you've told me a lot about your friends, but you never told me how you ended up in this world," Lightning said, starting this conversation up right away. She was curious, and worried. She heard Xehanort was defeated, but she didn't know how. What was Ven's role in that?

"It's a long story," Ven said softly. When Lightning was silent, he knew that he was expected to tell her everything. "After Master Xehanort took me, he trained me as his apprentice for a few years. He wanted to strengthen the Darkness in me so that it was equal to the Light and I could form a powerful Keyblade. But when he was impatient, he took out the Darkness in my heart. It nearly killed me in the process." He kept his gaze off Lightning when he spoke, not wanting to see her expression. "But I survived it, and so he figured he could still go through with his plan. He took me to another Keyblade Master for training, and that was where I stayed for a few years and became friends with Terra and Aqua."

Riku stopped walking when he heard voices, looking up at the islet. He recognized the voice that was speaking now; Ventus. He must have been talking to Lightning. Riku furrowed his eyebrows and approached the side of the same piece of land, being quiet even as he stepped through shallow water.

"Master Xehanort eventually tried going through with his plans again," Ven continued. "If me and Vanitas, the embodiment of my Darkness, fought and were at equal strength, then we'd form the X-blade. Xehanort manipulated me and my friends to get his goal, but in the end, he failed. But I did have to fight Vanitas, and after I won the battle for my heart, the X-blade was destroyed before he could put it to real use. But I lost my heart, and I slept for eleven years before I woke up again."

Lightning only hummed, though her hands were in fists by her sides. "You woke up within the past year I'm guessing." That was when she heard rumors of Xehanort's return.

"Yeah," Ven confirmed. "I met up with Terra and Aqua and made friends with other Keyblade bearers. Xehanort was still alive, and things are really complicated, but he's gone for good now. There's no way he's coming back."

Thank goodness, Riku thought, leaning against the side of the islet as he listened to the conversation above, positioned under the bridge. But still, that doesn't mean new threats can make appearances. Unfortunately, he still wasn't completely settled with the idea of Lightning being harmless. She was obviously a very capable fighter, given her gear.

"I'm only sixteen," Ven said, looking over at his sister. "How old are you? You don't seem as old as you should be..." That had thrown him off for a while.

"Twenty-one," Lightning responded without flinching, looking out at the ocean. "And you're right; I should be older. But coincidentally, I was asleep for as long as you were. Probably at the same time as you. In the time before I was asleep, I was actually doing something else instead of tracking you down. You and Xehanort disappeared from my radar and I had no leads, so I took the opportunity to fulfill another commitment I had."

Riku furrowed his eyebrows, listening in on the conversation. Lightning fell asleep for as long as Ven? That didn't make much sense. How could she have done that?

"Before Mom married Dad, she was married to somebody else," Lightning said, reminding Ven of something he already knew.

"I know," Ven said with a nod. "We're only half siblings." He had known for a long time that she and Claire only shared the same mother.

"I had another sister," Lightning continued. "She stayed with my dad after Mom divorced him. I went back to that world after I lost track of you and found out Serah was in danger. I got wrapped up in certain circumstances there, and she fell asleep for a long time. I went through everything to save her, and in a way, I did, but I fell asleep too." That was putting things simply.

Riku blinked at that. Serah? Another sister? Half-siblings? He never would have guessed that...though he guessed it explained why Ven and Lightning didn't look alike.

"When I woke up from that, a lot of time passed," Lightning said. "I left Serah in the care of another friend and started searching for you again. And after another year or so of searching, I finally found you." She looked over at Ven and smiled weakly, seeing him smile in return. That had been a hard search, but it was convenient that they were still around the same age as they should have been. Fate was on our side.
Riku closed his eyes, knowing that this was the backstory he had been wanting to hear earlier, when he questioned why Lightning was looking for Ven. They had been torn apart. But still, that didn't settle his worries; to him, she wasn't completely off the hook. Her scent was still a problem.

"I'm sorry I didn't come looking for you," Ven said softly. "I only remembered my past recently, since Xehanort somehow took it away from me. And when I remembered you, I figured that you were already gone."

"It's not your responsibility to worry about me," Lightning said firmly. "I'm your older sibling. I'm supposed to protect you from harm. So don't worry about it." She figured he wouldn't be looking for her; he had no reason to believe she was alive in the first place.

Riku frowned once he understood the rest of it. You didn't do a very good job, he thought bitterly. Ven had been in a lot of trouble lately, facing death more than a few times. If protection was on one of Lightning's lists, it needed to be on the list of failure.

Ven didn't agree with that answer, but he didn't fight it. Lightning was always protective of him, even before she could fight battles. The two of them sat in silence for a little while, but then Ven thought of something else they could do. "Let's head home," he said. "You must be hungry." Lightning only hummed in response, so he took that as a "yes". He pushed himself off the tree and then walked past her, going across the bridge. He heard her close behind him, though.
