Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Riku tilted his head slightly, keeping his position in front of Lightning. "Everything okay?" he asked calmly, his voice low over the dull roar of the waves nearby. She seemed better, but she was probably still agitated. She always appeared that way.

Lightning looked up, fighting the urge to be angry at Riku for what he caused. But he didn't know. "I told you not to cross me," she said softly. Her emotions triggered her brand to react, and that caused pain. She couldn't handle that much tension as long as she was cursed with the brand.
Riku lifted an eyebrow. "And because of that, you're in pain?" he asked in disbelief. That didn't make much sense. How could that be?

Lightning's eyebrows furrowed. "It's not that simple," she told him. She didn't like his disbelieving tone, but she had to keep reminding herself that he didn't know anything. She'd have to let him in on things, since she couldn't get away with keeping this secret from him now.
Riku watched Lightning in silence for a moment, contemplating her words. If it wasn't that simple, then what was it? "Mind explaining?" he asked quietly. She said she would answer his questions.
  • Author
"I know I have to," Lightning said with a faint nod. "You caught me at a bad time." Now he knew something was really off about her, since normal people didn't experience great pain just because of some tension in the air.
"Call it fate," Riku replied lowly. It wasn't like he wanted this, but it just happened. They had to deal. Both of them.

"Ha," Lightning laughed weakly, though she didn't smile. "Alright...You probably noticed I didn't give Ven many details about my past. And it wasn't because it was insignificant; it's because I'm protecting him from the truth." She had a problem...a big one.
"Then what's the truth?" Riku asked, focusing on the young woman before him. Clearly there was a problem; he just witnessed it firsthand, didn't he? Well, he was curious as to what it was. It seemed like a problem.

"The truth is, the world my sister lives on follows different laws than the rest of the universe," Lightning said, starting to explain. "It's not Light against Darkness. It's the world against the l'cie."
"The l'cie?" Riku repeated, growing even more confused at the name. "Sounds like another enemy..." Or at least to him it did, and by what Lightning just said, it had to be true. So what did that have to do with anything?
  • Author
"They were seen as the enemy by the world, but it's really not that simple. It's not a matter of good or evil; it's what the government taught the people to believe. L'cie aren't monsters...at first. They're normal human beings who are cursed by the Fal'cie...or gods," Lightning said, clarifying what the Fal'cie were so Riku could follow along better.
"Okay..." Riku said, urging Lightning to continue. So the l'cie were created by gods, also known as Fal'cie. That made sense, but what did that have to do with this?
  • Author
"L'cie have a 'focus', where they're given a task they have to complete," Lightning continued. "They have to do it whether they like it or not, or they become a C'ieth, a mindless monster. If they complete the focus, then they become crystal and receive eternal life." She saw the look Riku was giving her, so she started connecting things to her. "Serah was cursed by a Fal'cie and given a focus."
"...Your sister, right?" When he was eavesdropping, Riku thought that was what he heard. And if Lightning confirmed it, then he was right.
  • Author
"Yes," Lightning confirmed with a nod. "I didn't believe her when she first told me, but when I realized it was true, she was already seen as an enemy of the government and capture. I went to rescue her, but I was too late. Just as I got there, she completed her focus and turned to crystal."
Riku kept his eyes on Lightning, though he blinked at the information. That was...awful. But, Serah had eternal life, didn't she? Wasn't that a good thing?
  • Author
"I was furious and thought all hope was lost," Lightning said, eyebrows furrowing as she looked away. "I went and attacked a Fal'cie out of anger and was cursed in the process." She looked up at Riku again at that, her eyes finding his. "I'm a l'cie."
Riku eyes narrowed. "What?" he said in response, his voice soft. He couldn't help but second-guess her, not able to believe it. Lightning was a l'cie, something the government of her home world hated?
  • Author
Lightning nodded slightly, not sure how to take Riku's response. "I'm not a monster," she said, eyebrows furrowing slightly as she diverted her gaze again. "But I'm normal like you. That's why you can't sense the Light or Darkness in my heart."
"So that's why..." Riku said, his voice fading as he glanced down at his knee. "I sensed the l'cie in you. It was foreign to me." He could only smell the Darkness in someone, not something like this.
  • Author
Lighting only hummed, feeling as if that answer sufficed. Apparently Riku could sense Light and Darkness, like a lot of warriors could. But he was foreign to the l'cie, as he said. Nobody in this world knew about that curse, except for these two. And it would stay that way.
"Because of that," Riku said, lifting his eyes to Lightning's face again, "you should be able to realize why I acted the way I did earlier." He was very protective of his family and friends, his world. He didn't want anyone ruining it, even her.
  • Author
"So how are you going to act now that you know the truth?" Lightning asked, looking back up at Riku. This was a big deal, but she wanted to make sure he had the full story before he did anything. And she needed to know that he wouldn't tell anyone anything.
Riku let his eyes rest on Lightning's for a moment, contemplating the answer, but then he pushed himself up. "I'll keep quiet," he said, only speaking the truth. He wouldn't run and tell; it wasn't his place.
