Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

"Thanks," Lightning said, genuinely grateful as she too rose to her feet. She'd have to believe he was telling the truth; she had no other choice. Nobody could know about this, especially not Ventus.
Riku let his eyes trail Lightning's movements until she was standing once more. "Don't mention it," he said lowly. He had his own secrets in the past, and they would stay secrets when things concerned Lightning. She may have just revealed her deepest secret, but he wasn't about to do the same.

"You're not interested in the rest of the story?" Lightning asked with an arched brow. He had to know by now that l'cie had a focus, and unless they did it, they became a monster. Wasn't he worried she would do that?
"There's nothing to know until you find out your next focus," Riku guessed with a shrug. "Am I right?" Unless there was something she wanted to tell him that he still didn't know.

"You got it right," Lightning said, surprised at that. Riku put together all the pieces on his own--he figured out she was asleep when she turned into a crystal and fulfilled her focus. But he assumed now that she had a new focus. "Except I'm not even sure if I have a new focus. I have to assume I do since my brand still plagues me."
Riku's features still represented seriousness, the boy clearly focused on what was going on here. "How do you even find out what it is?" he asked. If Lightning never found out, she would turn into one of those...things. What were they called again? Cie'th?

"When you become a l'cie, you're given a vision that helps guide you," Lightning explained. "But I haven't gotten a similar vision since I woke up. I'm clueless about what the next focus could be." Which meant that she was a goner.
Riku lowered his gaze at that, crossing his arms. "Interesting..." he muttered lowly. Visions? If Lightning didn't get one, then did that mean she even had a focus? No, she said she did, since her mark was bothering her.

Lightning looked down at the sand, still thinking over everything. "Either fate isn't one that I want," she said. "Cei'th or crystal, I'm basically dead." She didn't want to be separated from Ven again...
"I'm guessing that beats the purpose of eternal life," Riku said, lifting his eyes to Lightning, unable to help but smirk a little. If she felt dead as a crystal, there was no point to completing or failing with her focus.

"Eternal life is pointless if I'm separated from Ven again," Lightning said, only honesty coming through in her voice. She loved him too much; she couldn't lose him again. Eternal life wasn't worth it.
That made Riku's smirk fade, and he uncrossed his arms. "Then what are you gonna do?" he asked. Either she died from being a Cie'th, or she turned to crystal. He didn't see any other option.

"Stay calm and try to figure out a way to get rid of the brand," Lightning replied, looking back up at Riku. "Stress will speed up the process and bring me closer to the end."
"Mm," Riku hummed softly, nodding a little. That made sense. The only good thing about this was obvious, and that was that Lightning knew what to expect and what to stay away from. Stress was obviously one that he provided.

"And I'm keeping this hidden from Ven," Lightning added. "I expect you not to drop any hints to anyone. This stays between us." She hoped she could trust him...It would be hard since the Darkness in him was so apparent.
"I told you I'd keep my mouth shut," Riku said, eyebrows furrowed still. "I'll stay true to my word." He wasn't an idiot; this would be catastrophic if Ven found out. Riku wasn't about to be the reason for that.

"I know what you said," Lightning said calmly. "I'm not quick to trust somebody I know nothing about, especially when they know a dark secret of mine." Surely Riku could understand that.
"Yeah, well, no worries," Riku said, turning again. "Your secret's safe with me. Scout's honor." With his back to her, he lifted three fingers together and expressed the motion that was usually said with the words, the boy starting to walk away. He wouldn't say anything.
  • Author
"Hm," Lightning hummed, watching Riku go. Scout's honor? That was such a kid's thing to do. She hoped she didn't make a mistake telling him. She supposed that only time would tell.
As Riku walked away, he thought of something. "You should probably head back," he called over his shoulder. "Ven's waiting." He had gone home a little while ago, so he was probably waiting for Lightning to show up.

Lightning wordlessly started walking forward, knowing that Riku was right. She'd get in her boat and row back to the mainland instead of riding Odin, since she knew from Ven that the Keybladers kept a low profile. She didn't totally understand why, but she accepted it.

Two weeks later...

Riku sat on the beach, the sun starting to descend in the sky, given it was the middle of the afternoon. His friends were all around him on the beach, but he had his trusty companion at his side for the moment. Jasmine ran up with the stick in her mouth, and he took it before chucking it back toward the waves, seeing her run off to get it. Meanwhile, he looked over at his friends, seeing that Lightning was among them. He'd gotten used to her being around over the past two weeks, though he didn't have a choice. And throughout those two weeks, he hadn't said a word about her secret. He kept his promise, just like he said he would.

Lightning felt Ven tug at her arm when he said a joke, and she smiled softly just to humor him. The rest of the group was laughing already, but her thoughts were elsewhere. A few days ago, Sora told her about Riku's past. She went to him to find out about it since Riku probably wouldn't tell her. She could see why...He suffered. A lot. And for the sake of his friends. She treated him differently after finding out about that, since she could see why he acted the way he did now.
Riku snapped out of his thoughts when he caught Jasmine coming up the beach from the water, stick in her mouth. He took it from her wordlessly before he covered his face with his arm, the dog shaking all of the water off her coat. Once that was done, he threw the stick back out, grunting slightly with the motion. As Jasmine took off, Riku let his mind wander again, to Lightning. He couldn't really help it; there were just so many things about her that sparked his curiosity. One of those things being how she treated him with more...kindness. It was odd.

Lightning glanced away from the group to see Riku's dog run into the ocean, that pet something that revealed more about Riku. He was softer than he appeared on the outside. Jazzy was a small dog, and he treated her with care. There was a lot about Riku she still didn't understand, but at least she knew his past now. That helped a lot.
