Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

The next morning   Riku lingered in the living room as Lightning's guests talked on the sofas. It was the day after Sora and Kairi's wedding, and now that the event was over, everyone was heading ba

Not that it's really a bad thing, Riku thought, his elbows resting on his knees, which were propped up in front of him. He saw Jazz looking for the stick in the water. It's just...different. He only caught Lightning smile a few times in the past few weeks, and he had to admit that it was rare to see such a thing; she was so serious all the time, and he knew why. But he couldn't say anything about it, and he hadn't approached her about the topic either, not since the day she arrived.

Lightning heard the group suggest going home for dinner, but she told Ven she'd stay at the beach a little longer. The group started leaving and she took a few steps away, looking at Jasmine instead of focusing on Riku.
Jasmine snatched at the stick in the water before heading back toward Riku, who clapped his hands, the motion causing her to run faster. The boy couldn't help but smile when she reached him, lifting his hands to ruffle her wet ears as she held the stick in her mouth, panting past it. He was so focused on her that he neglected to notice the others leaving, since he had been by himself a lot of the time.

Lightning folded her arms over her chest, actually smiling faintly at Riku and his dog. It was an interesting sight to see a "tough guy" like him with a dog. But she could understand what he was feeling; pets were good companions. She had a dog when she was younger, though Serah loved her more than Lightning did.
"Ready?" Riku said softly to his dog, speaking in that "pet voice" owners often did with their animals. "Go get it!" He chucked the stick again and Jasmine barked, running off once more. His small smile remained as he watched her go, though he felt another gaze on him.

Lightning followed Jasmine with her eyes, though she lifted a hand to her chest without thought. She hadn't been too stressed lately, but the brand was progressing. How did she even have it again? It should have been gone...She needed to do something to get rid of it, before it was too late.
While Jasmine was busy, Riku turned his head in the direction he felt the gaze coming from. That was when he noticed that Lightning was the only other person on the beach. He was confused for a second, having not known when the others left, but he guessed it couldn't have been that long.

There's no way to get rid of it, is there? Lightning thought, not feeling Riku's gaze on her as she shifted her gaze to the sky. No, she wouldn't believe that. She made the impossible happen before, and she could do it again...somehow. She was a surprisingly optimistic person, but also realistic at the same time. She didn't really show the former to many people.
"Chose to stick around?" Riku called from his spot, his eyes on Lightning for the moment. He didn't see Jasmine coming back yet, so he had time to spare.

Lightning blinked, leaving her thoughts alone and looking to Riku. She nodded slightly, walking forward a few steps. "I like the beach," she said simply. She had never really been in a place like Destiny Islands before. It was a nice place.
Riku shrugged a little as Jasmine returned, the boy bringing his hands to her head. "I used to think it was a prison," he said, referring to the beach and the water. Of course, he didn't think that way now, given all he had seen. He could leave whenever he wanted, but he never felt the urge.

"At least it's a prison that protects you from what's outside the world," Lightning said in thought, kneeling down on one knee next to Riku and looking at the ocean. It may have trapped people here because of all the water, but it was a safe haven. She realized that pretty quickly.
Riku looked away from Lightning and down at his dog. "I disagree. We're what's protecting this world," he replied. Not the other way around. After all, he was the one who put it into Darkness the first time.

Lightning hummed, shifting his gaze to Jasmine. "Good point," she stated simply. She knew that the Keyblade wielders worked hard to keep this world safe, and she could see why. Innocent worlds like this needed protection.
Riku nodded a little and scratched Jasmine behind the ears, not saying anything more. He wasn't really sure what to say anymore about the topic without giving himself away; he was awful in the past. He still felt awful about all he did, even if Sora and Kairi assured him it was okay.

"This is a world worth protecting," Lightning said, looking to the ocean. "I was curious about why so many Keyblade wielders settled here, but now I see why." It was the innocence, wasn't it? A world not scarred by Darkness...It was a rare place.
"It used to be just me and Sora, but then Roxas came along," Riku explained quietly, hearing the dull roar of the waves in front of him. "A little while after that, so did Terra, Aqua, and Ventus. It's home to all of us." He wouldn't make the mistake of sacrificing it again.

"Yeah...Sora," Lightning said, keeping her gaze on the sky. "He told me a lot about the group, since he considers me to be a part of it now." For some reason, Lightning wondered if Riku was alright with that. Why did his opinion make a difference to her, though?
Riku was silent at that, wondering what exactly Sora said. He had the ability to be a blabbermouth sometimes, not shutting up when he needed to. Riku hoped he hadn't revealed anything too touchy, about anyone.
  • Author
"He told me about your past," Lightning said, not looking over at Riku when she spoke. She never would have guessed that he went through something so terrible, or that this world was still around after what happened. But that wasn't as important as what Riku went through, since he was a person like she was.
Riku frowned, looking down at his pet before looking in the opposite direction as Lightning, at the ground. "Great," he replied unenthusiastically. "...That idiot." Sora didn't need to tell anyone that. He had a hard enough time telling Terra and Aqua in the past, and now he just opens up to Lightning about it? It didn't make sense.

"He could tell I didn't trust you completely because of your Darkness," Lightning explained, though she still didn't look at Riku. "He thought it would help if I knew the truth." And it did help, because she viewed Riku differently now. He wasn't just a kid in her eyes anymore.
Riku closed his eyes briefly before looking over at Lightning. "If sympathy is what you got from the explanation, keep it," he insisted. He didn't want any of it after what he did. "I got what I deserved."
  • Author
"It's not...sympathy," Lightning said, looking over at Riku. "It's just that I can relate." She suffered through her focus instead of giving up in hopes of seeing Serah again someday. She did it for her, just like Riku went through his trouble with Darkness to help his friends. They were similar.
Riku grunted slightly, looking away. However, a frown was still present on his lips. "Right," he said, releasing Jasmine as she turned to go sniff around the beach. He guessed they were.
